This is touch CWM, you can use the touch screen while navigating instead of volume keys in a normal CWM + my mods stated in OP.

Hi:
Thanks for your efforts.
It doesn't work for me, using men version.
Get assert errors:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "p970" trying to install update-cm-7.2.0-RC1.
Trying 3 sdcards with the same result, only backing to CWM-5.0.2.6 worked.
Perhaps my Optimus Black has his own life.

Just a thought (I'm not DEV).
I saw that line in system/build.prop
In my build.prop:
# ro.build.product is obsolete; use ro.product.device
ro.build.product=p970
Try to change this
ro.build.product=p970
to
ro.product.device=p970
Again, I didn't try this...
It freeze touch cwm when i had marvel 8.1 installed

Sorry, I meant do't you have 3g - to download it without connecting to your work's wifi...
Just flashed it and about to play...
It has that old bug (can't remember what rom it was in though) where you press the menu softkey and nothing happens until you tap the screen, then you see the popup... and the back button is laggy
i do have 3g but i have no credit on my phone until friday when i fget paid lol
flashing now
Bluetooth calls not working in this rom.
The whole thing seemed quite laggy and the menu button bug is serious.
yes i noticed the bugs myself i think back to M6 for me then until this is more stable

So, I guess that means to early for everyday use.
On the other hand, I can't even managed to install this ROM via recovery v3.2.0.0
It says :
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Amend scripting (update script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was depreciated by Google in Android 1.5.
...
Installation aborted
clockwork 3.X wont support the old update-script instead it uses updater-binary
and yes i would say the rom is still in early stages
Okay, thanks ...
I'll flash the 2x recovery and try this rom after Michalak8 upload the new one.
He said v3 is on progress.
Before you touch the screen button (read ad1 is described there - then it works beautifully), progress on v3 are as follows - fixed audio, and small bug fixes but the package is ready to fight with the theme chooser - the application works, but the motives are not compatible with Froyo zdunexa themes will be easier for me convert into Froyo but not under the theme chooser - that themy (honeycomb, Meizu, 2x, and others will be issued in thethe form of of packages of recovery and an XML file for settings enable przelaczabie cm between them )( Respitetheme chooser functionality )It is enough when it comes to themes CM7 settings operate almost 100% - only been overclocking, overscrooling I BOOKMARK display (causes fc) ... Do not know if you see this feature today ... Time is running out

Update (2/4/13):The instructions listed below are somewhat dated now. While instructions here are still valid, if you are on the old bootloader, you can now automate these steps using wkpark's excellent CM10 patcher found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971350. Also Di HarD has tested and confirmed that Dovakhiin 1.1.1, ICS 4.0.4 v30a custom also works with wkpark's patcher (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37567725&postcount=50; thanks Di HarD!)
Update (1/13/13): NOTE: These instructions are for those on the old bootloader.
Update (9/18/12): New SU660 kernel now available for CM10. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893328
Update (9/2/12): For tonyp's ParanoidAndroid ROM, you can do all that is described here automatically using a SU660-specific ROM with a single CWM flashable zip. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865233.
-------------------------------
Friends,
I've been getting multiple PMs lately asking how I have P990 roms installed on my SU660. For the SU660 users in this community, I'll use this thread to write up a short guide on how to do so and to provide tips. Feel free to post questions here (or here if you don't have enough posts yet to post here at the dev section)
How to install P990 custom roms on SU660.
(warning: Do not use P999 ROMs -- the hardware is too different with the SU660).:
1. Download your ROM of choice.
2. Remove the P990 assert (if it exists) in the ROM's updater script prior to install:
Edit the following file inside the flashable zip file
Code:
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
Comment out the first line by adding "#" (without quotation marks), so that it looks like something like the following:
Code:
[COLOR="Red"]#[/COLOR]assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "p990" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "p990");
Re-package the zip file. I use 7-zip in Windows or the default archive manager in Ubuntu.
3. Flash install your modified ROM of choice.
4. Flash SU660-compatible kernel
For JB/CM10 roms, sadly, none available at the moment, try the following 3.0.42 kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893328
For ICS/CM9 roms, try wkpark's 3.0.8 kernel:
http://code.google.com/p/openstar2x/downloads/detail?name=boot-cm9-for-su660-3.0.8-120322.zip
For CM7/MIUI roms, try wkpark's 2.6.32.57 kernel:
http://code.google.com/p/android-ha...te-120605-open2x-2.6.32.57-1.1-dev-cm7-r4.zip
OR, a P990 kernel. (only for ICS)
(e.g. Harsh's among others), PROVIDED that the custom ROM you're flashing has soft key navigations (see below).
NOTE: rotation would be incorrect in such a setup of a SU660 with a P990 kernels (e.g. rotate 90 degrees, and it will behave as rotating 270 degrees; observed the same phenomenon in harsh, jarvis, and nova ICS kernels). I don't know of a good workaround -- I just turn off rotation when I use p990 kernels.
ICS/JB ROMs with Soft Key NavigationThe following are the ICS/JB ROMs that I tested and know have soft key navigation option (which would allow use of P990 kernels in SU660 phones):
tonyp's CM10 ParanoidAndroid (all builds)
tonyp's CM9 ParanoidAndroid #12
owain94's CM9 Domination #80
To turn on (or off) the soft-key navigation bar, go to
Settings - System - Navigation bar
My Current Set-upPhone: LG-SU660 Optimus 2X
BB/RIL: 1120 (V20j) matched - see here and here
As of Sep 20, 2012
ROM: tonyp's CM10 ParanoidAndroid Build #4
Kernel: 3.0.43-120920
As of Sep 13, 2012
ROM: tonyp's CM10 ParanoidAndroid Build #2

Credits and Final CommentsActually, parts of this was posted before (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29557692#post29557692). I thank jalal.mustafa for that initial conversation and especially tonyp for the encouragement to address the issue (and requesting the mod to make this a sticky! ). It is conversations with them (along with the aforementioned recent PMs) that provided the inspiration for this guide. (Thanks guys!). Finally, thanks also to the many good folks over at a Korean forum (http://cafe.naver.com/op2x) who taught me how to remove the assert.
And please, please, please! apply all the necessary safety measures before trying out these steps (e.g. familiarize yourself with using CWM recovery, nandroid backup etc.) so that you will have a fallback plan if it soft-bricks your O2X.
For those of you who do not have enough posts yet to ask questions or make comments here, I have another thread in the "General" section just for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850281
Let me know if you need further help. Good luck and happy flashing!
Thanks man for open it..

I used to have similar problem but only with MMS messages. I don't think this is unique to paranoidandroid. Anyway, I resolved it by manually entering my carrier's APN and MMSC addresses (found by googling).
If it's not MMS issue, I wouldn't know what to do except backup whatever SMS you have, wipe data for the messaging app and hope it will get "fixed". Maybe others may have more elegant solutions...
You got the sticky

FYI....
I updated the first post with a subsection that lists the p990 custom ROMs that have soft-key navigation, which would allow you to use p990 kernels on the su660 O2x phones.
If there are others that I'm not aware of that should be included, kindly reply and I'll be happy to update the post. Thanks!
thanks, will try now
How to install CM7 based custom roms on optimus 2x su660.? the method is same as cm9 by adding this line #assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "p990" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "p990"); in updater script?

No I have not tried Gueste2X Hybrid Revolution v3.4. A quick search tells me that it's a CM7 rom. Then you'll need a CM7 kernel.

The back and menu (and home) button won't work on your su660 with the Harsh kernel. That's why I gave instructions on using soft key (on-screen) navigation keys in Post #1.
Thanks for sharing the link, but which kernel is it? You can check by going in to settings - about phone.
For HWA setting FC, try clearing app data first. Also, note the instructions in the original thread by tonyp to make it work:

Sorry if the instructions were not clear...you shouldn't add a line. You should only add the "#" sign in the first line.
(or, you could delete that whole first line)
In other words, the first two lines in the file should look like:
Code:
#assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "p990" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "p990" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "p990");
package_extract_file("system/bin/backuptool.sh", "/tmp/backuptool.sh");

Finally works, i fix it following the next guide
Encountering installation issues ?
Do the following to fix most errors you might get on some devices :
Open the zip of the rom you are running with winrar or 7zip or whatever (the .zip file that you flash in recovery)
Inside this zip, navigate to : META-INF/com/google/android
Extract the file called "update-binary" and rename it to "update-binary-installer" then close your rom's zip
Open Pimp my Rom's zip (i.e : PIMP_MY_ROM-v1.5.3-by-Androguide.fr.zip)
Do not unzip it, inside this zip, navigate to : META-INF/com/google/android and delete "updater-binary-installer"
Now copy the "update-binary-installer" file you extracted & renamed from your rom to Pimp My Rom's zip (still in META-INF/com/google/android). Simply drag and drop it into PmR's zip to add it.
Close the zip and flash it

Hello guys. I made it for P970 and some people ask me to make for P990. Since we are the LG's victims and I have free time now so I make this for you. Enjoy :highfive:
Download:
http://www.mediafire.com/?u2022ovr4xo1ozy
new link http://www.mediafire.com/?kqd86dfyogsfujk - I tried thís with my phone and I can flash it. If it's not work with P990 could someone make the flashable zip for me
Credits: Esvilisto for this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597928
PS:
+ I don't have P990 and I can't test, someone please confirm it works or not
+ I made this from CM10 source code so maybe it's only works with offcial CM10
I'm unable to flash the .zip..it keeps saying installation aborted..
i'm on CM10's latest nightly
I made this the same way with P970. Maybe there's something wrong. I'll check it. BTW you can extract and put the files in system folder to the CM10's zip and flash

Doesn't change anything... same lockscreen that before flash.
wwwowww:victory: it worked...
all i did was
1)extracted the lockscreen zip downloaded from first link..
2)replaced the files in cm10 20121105.zip
3)flashed the cm10 zip..
4) wipe cache, dalvik, fix permissions and..
voila it worked....
but its not that great..
To make flashable zip work, maybe you should free some space on system partition. Can't try ATM, because I'm currently on stock ICS and testing it. And probably will stay few more days for testing purposes. So I'll skip few CM10 nightlies...
Anyway, thanks for porting this for our device, I'll try it as soon as I'm back on CM10.
Looks good

no..thats why i said its not that great...
I just can't get it to work..even when I replace the files in the CM10 zip and try to flash it it keeps aborting and giving status 0
Maybe someone con make a zip with latest version.
I' ve found instruction by evilisto:
I'm not sure but I think...
1) halo ring : it could be due to too big image size.. Current version(v3 for JZO54K) is for HD screen devices. If you are trying to use this patch for WVGA(hdpi) device, you have to replace WaveView.java part to old version's one (v2.5 for WVGA).
2) black wallpaper : this is lockscreen transparency issue. check your rom version and see this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...5&postcount=23

Don't include the META-INF folder.
I included it in the latest nightly, for me the clock only show 3 digits and the lockscreen unlocks really slow..
back to normal !

same here..only 3 digits the 4th one is cut..ex- time is 10.35 ... only half part of 5 is shown..
Really good !
Well, I've replaced the files of the new link directly into the ROM zip file, and I had the problem of the digits. But selecting "center" into lockscreen settings (settings/lockscreen) just fixed it.
All I can say is a big thank you, caus' I've been waiting for it for a very long time, and even if you can't add widgets or shortcuts, and that the unlock is a bit slow, this stays a very good mod !

And faster installing ROM, I've flashed CM10 in hmmm 20 sec ?! idk but faster than with CWM5. And it let you install zip via ADB(still untested) I'm going to test it now.
PS>
The recovery builder is now building version 6 of the recovery. The main changes are as follows:
Backups are much faster. 4-5x faster. (Bug fix due to excessive status updates of the UI and new backup technique)
Incremental backups are smaller. Way way smaller. Only 15-20MB each for each additional backup of a ROM. This is done using a new tool I wrote to dedupe the files between incremental backups to eliminate duplicates.

Haven't run into it yet.
For the installation over sideload, I confirm IT WORKS. Thank you TheWhisp
You just setup the android SDK, install ADB tools, download your favourite ROM (currently mine is CM10 xD) and install it over ADB.
What does Install update via sideload do?!
You don't have to put your rom or flashing .zip file in your phone or SD card.
If you have it in your downloads folder (in linux) you just connect your phone to sideload on CWM6 and write in terminal (on your PC)
"adb sideload <.zip_file_path>" and you have it
Example. You have update.zip file in your downloads folder, so you write
adb sideload ~/Downloads/update.zip
So yah, i tried it, and as I said, it works falwlessly
PS. There are like NO bugs so I think this is going to be released tomorrow or so. Let's see what TheWhisp thinks
Re: [DEV] ClockWorkMod 6.0.2.8 - coming soon

It's compatible with all .zip files I have tried yet. It doesn't matter which zip file you try, it should work as long as the zip file worked in the previous CWM5.
cant wait for it...now its free from cwm loop .
Great news!!!! I'm very happy! Fast backup and fast restore!!! Ohh yeah! Thanks Whisp!
our beloved dev thewhisp really makes the Galaxy Mini 2 alive..
CM10+CWM really good.
and again... Ace Plus users ask me for help, I fix their kernel, they use my Mini 2 config, rename every jena to trebon and can't include me in the credits. Hate people like that. :/

It kind of feels sad when you do something in your free time and someone just takes your work and say it's his. Anyway, release in an hour.
