cancel this i found one.
Maybe you could've put a link to it? I'm looking for one too.
Here's a video guide to install it, from RootzWiki (where all of the original development initiated):

I got my replacement phone in the mail today and i need help reflashing to the stock rom that the phone came with, can somebody guide me to the right place? I know there was a sticky thread some where but I can't find it. Thank you.
Nexus One Wiki is the new sticky thread. It contains links to all the guides.
Hi all and a special thanks to Paul for his work on the O2X.
My previous phone was a HTC Desire, and with a great video guide I was able to put the Defrost ROM on it (Very easy), witch was the best thing I had ever done to the Phone.
So of cause I really want to do the same with my O2X.
I have read all threads in this forum, and I'm ready to put on a custom ROM on my O2X.
But is it to soon if I'm looking for a stable version?
And when I read this tread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007863
And read something like this "READ THESE CAREFULLY!", I'm getting nervous that I might do something wrong and ruin my new Phone.
Would i be possible for someone to just list each step I need to do to get a working custom ROM on my phone?
Some thing like this, or maybe someone with some spare time could make a cool youtube video going through the steps?
Something like this:
Root the phone (Link)
Do something (Link)
...
...
All done!
Just do as the guide for the custom rom says... If you read carefully and follow the steps provided you're safe. Flash recovery first...
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
I asked this question over at Modaco... http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-optimus-2x-2x-modaco-com/336019/root-before-recovery/
Paul gave me a short guide which was helpful, and the ROM thread gives step by step guide...... BTW this should be in the General section not development!
I will try tonight, and follow the guides and hopefully get it to work without make any damage to the phone

Found a lot of dead links, phone seems hard for a lot of others. I got it though using LG Esteem ROOT.
Could not find a lot of other files to try. Gingerbreak which alot used just found bad links or ones that wanted to install other programs.
nice.
if you found dead links, you could report them to their respective authors. just know that you can find every needed things in the kit I provide. also, take a look at my shares (link in signature)
Is your post the one i saw it said to use "Gingerbreak"? cause i could not find that link either. Unless it was under a different name?

It seems you have a lot of research to do, by reading through the various stickies in General and Development, and posting questions in Q&A.
Hi, you can find more information here:

I recomend you BlackJack to root your device.
Do we have new install instructions for flashing to cm9 from a fresh device? Following the rabbit hole of linked post after linked post they all seem to lead back to the same post for their files here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/10121-releasealpha35cyanogenmod-touchpad/
And there are quite a few dead links. They also seem to be all older files who's intention is to flash to cm7 as well. I don't feel comfortable picking and choosing files from different posts to try and Frankenstein my way to a flashed device. Is there someone who knows what they are doing that might be able to put together another from scratch guide to flashing this device?

Read this thread. It has the information you need. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1246
I use/recommend the official cm9 nightly. Dorregaray has a patch for working camera that can be flashed over the official nightly, here's the link:
http://goo.im/devs/Dorregaray/update-cm9-tenderloin-camera-preview13-for-official.zip
Good luck.
I like this one: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/31548-ho...nmod10-preview-4-with-sound-updated-11162012/.
chicle_11, I think you might have linked to the Touchpad General forums instead of a thread.
Here's the correct link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568685
Sorry for the mistake.
