It seems like when I play a video on MX player it just laggs playback...
I tried ticking S/W it's STOPPEd the lagg but the pictures won't keep up with the pace of the audio thus crashing it.
Need help
It is because of no hardware acceleration or something like that. Wait for the next release it will be fixed.
Be patient.
It's because you don't read.

Yes u can use mx player but i don't think hd will work (hd = 720p, 1080p) Even if 720p works, it will suffer from lag :/ Thats hardware limitations.
Coz i tryed youtube tht plays 720p but it just got worst compare to the older version that only have the high quality option

why you want to run videos in 720p if the resolution of the screen is 240p?

Thats why im asking if it can!

No.
btw., 720p would look worse than 240p on a QVGA screen.
Im using the default samsung video player on galaxy tab 8.9 after ics update but I cant see any video only audio and subtitles are showing. .any idea?

No one kind enough to put a reply

Could have something to do with hardware acceleration. In my experience ICS tends to only play sound when HW acc is on. At least with mxplayer. Try turning it off if you have the option.

Might be the video is encoded with unsupported codec, or with a supported codec but unsupported parameters (e.g. to high resolution, or too many reference frames if x264, etc)
Try free mxPLayer from play store, it supports a wider set of video codec than Samsung player
Optionally, get MediaInfo software for windows pc, and post details of video
Thank you for the reply..yes I tried mx player via software rendered not hardware but the video play is lagging and strobing/ stuttering..

I run the latest version of CM9 (found close the en of the CM9 thread in dev section) and hw acc works great. My tip of the day. It's ICS with the CM flavour.

So its not possible for stock samsung rom to fix the video playing functions?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Dunno. I believe I had to do with SW decoding when I was on stock ICS. Most media played excellent though. Only had trouble with big .mkv-files.

Yup I had trouble playing movie mkv it only displays sound and subtitles..

Mx player is verry laggy.Try BS Player , is better than Mx
Sent from my GT-P7300 using xda app-developers app
Mx player is not buggy at all u just gotta install the codecs that fits ur processor.
Mx is the best video player I have come across.

I'm on CM10 over clocked to 1.2Ghz. It lags when I play video files, 720p movies back.
When I use moboplayer and stock player. On mobo I selected software decoding and it no longer lags, but the audio will sometimes be too fast and it gets out of sync.
How can I fix this to be able to watch films on my GT?
Thanks.

No, does that work better?
Galaxy SII • NeatROM Full • Dorimanx Kernel
Hi,
I always used MX player and I didn't have problems with HD videos (even 1080p).
Now running the latest CM10.1 and they are not running.
probably something that needs to be fixed.

For video playback quality Full HD!!! Know hardware support there! But as a video with the quality, then play audio only! Explain to me why? Maybe there's a chance?

get mx player from google and app settings , then change dpi 100 and dpi res 1000x600 something like this , try !
Don't forget to enable hardware acceleration in MX Player. It'll speed up things a lot.
