XDA/TapaTalk apps F/C's - Off-topic

This thread is only for people experiencing random F/C's with XDA/TapaTalk apps. BRIEFLY describe what you were doing when it F/C'd.

You don't have to be a farmer to know what sh*t smells like.

It usually happens after selecting an image then backing out of said image. Not too frequent though.

Not getting fc's so much. One or two since the last update. My problem is, I can't always see every photo in the image threads. Some photos show up as a black box with a blip in the middle...a refresh with clever scrolling sometimes works. But it is rather annoying
Sent from my coffee pot.

I'm getting F/C's left and right. Usually when I using the Moderator tools. It's ridiculous. I've wiped data, fresh ROM flash.

My F/Cs started happening when checking PMs. I uninstalled, wiped data, the usually stuff and it has gotten worse. It doesn't matter if I'm on GB or ICS. HD version for tablets seems to work fine though.

I know you're all probably aware of this, but just in case you're not there's a dedicated thread for reporting issues with the xda app, here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841646
(It's a sticky thread, so many app users won't see it.)
It's obviously just for the xda app, not TapaTalk, but you should probably raise xda app related issues in there so they get seen.

There's a thread for that

Thank me to thank-you.

So it's come to my attention that the thank-you system on XDA is a method by which people's contribution to XDA is measured.
For instance, a developer provides a new custom ROM that is well liked: BAM! he receives thank-you's.
In noticing all this, I've come to realize that there are a lot people who just aren't thanked enough.
My solution: I'll thank you.
Create a post identifying yourself, and thank me, and I'll thank you right back. In this way, everyone wins!
~Jasecloud4
To clarify rules:
You can only post for a thank-you once a day.
Only thank me on this post. In this way I can only be thanked 1 time by each of you, yet you can receive as many times as days you post.

That may be true. But why would the MODS lock something that is within the rules? That doesn't seem normal.

God, it smacks of having fake friends on facebook, or even creating fake profile which are used just to direct appreciation to the real profile. (See Ebay scammers et al). I feel violated at the merest suggestion that the same tactics would be employed here!
The thanks system works a treat as it is, and if it inspires people to raise their game and think more about the usefullness of what they're posting then we all win. What we don't need is a corrupt and fake immitation of the system!

This is 100% related to the Samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket!
CISPA is basically saying: Because some people get viruses, others steal stuff, and users fail to protect themselves online we are going to monitor, log, and analyze everybody's internet usage. Screw your privacy.
Welcome to iHell.
Technically this is related to absolutely everything you do that involves an internet connection.
Say good bye to the android market. And youtube. And many many other things that are used daily

Who here actually donates? Those that do, how many devs & how much have you donated?

Who here actually donates? Those that do, how many devs & how much have you donated?
Ok, the thread is meant to be a bit intrusive. But...its more for stats, cause I wonder how many people appreciate others work? Sometimes I look think "Oh man that would have taken them freakin ages to make hmmm yeah I better swing em some bux". But then I think to my self 'well...what's a reasonable amount to donate?'
Rules are:
For the sake of not starting sh!tfights over who has better ROM

bla bla bla and people going off topic, we are not disclosing who we donated to and/or reason why we donated.
So it will be number of devs
Total amount
Date (not day of month...just month and year for perspective)
Possibly a break down on amounts if you want so long as it doesn't break the rule above^^^
I'll start
XDA
09/11 - $10.05AUD
02/12 - $20.00AUD
03/12 - $10.00AUD
03/12 - $25.00AUD
05/12 - $5.00AUD
Total $70.00
Google Market
10/10 - $5.00AUD
I dont think that this is appropriate as any donations should be between user and developer. Then you have no way of actually confirming the donations so im sure people will make themselves seem more charitable. And last but not least, if it was for percentages and statistics you should have started a poll in this thread.
Firstly, if you read my rules you would see that it was aimed to protect what you raised. I don't need to check if the people paid them or not? It wasn't about that...people can lie and claim they donated heaps and I wouldn't know? But that would be kinda stupid wouldn't it?
I wanted to start a poll, but I've never done that before...and a poll would entice the thought that this was something structured when its not.
I wanted to see what sort of thing seems fair or common, cause my belief is that not many people donate at all and hardly any amount if they do. But on odd occasions i see a post and it make me wonder again...or believe that this isn't true, that there are donators.
Do you understand where I am headed now?
James
I can't remember, but i have donated.

How about Hitting the Thanks

People I thought I would throw this out there to help All the Modders and Devs Feel a Little better about what they do for Us..I have to say I don't do a lot of mods or things myself..I do how ever try to make the Devs Feel Appreciated and Respected when the do put out New mods For Us ..It takes there Time and Energy to do these things..I know they do a lot of mods and stuff for there Own Joy of having a Phone like no other but yet they Pass them on to people like you and me because they are good hearted people and enjoy doing so...So in All Respect and for The hell of it..It's not going to hurt anybody to HIT THE THANKS BUTTON WHEN SOMEBODY HELPS YOU OR DOES A NICE MOD FOR YA..so please do so be a good person hit the button...Thanks All

Most of us do use the thanks button. Overuse is probably the bigger problem. I know for me I thank any helpful or entertaining post I come across and reach my limit in about 10 minutes, then I cant thank anyone else for the rest of the day - or I have to use the app to thank.
To thank from XDA App is even harder because you have to touch on the post, then tap "thanks". It's very hard, believe me.

On another note, OP, your post is "hard" to read when you're throwing those upper cases all over the place. It ruins the the "reading flow". There's no reason to do it at all.
