can i use stock or andro-ID apps (camera, phone and contact) for cm7 (mebitek) rom? try to push it but not working..
No you can't, I don't know why but I already tried it.
never, because stock apps need stock framework, it different in CM7
I like stock camera than CM7, it very good, and more option
For camera download ics camera from play or camera ultimate

i'm currently running ICSSGS ROM at my galaxy s i9000(thanks to ICSSGS Team for this great rom and the effort), but i notice there is no video call option inside the dialer. is there another way to make a video call with this ROM ?
thx anyway
Samsung manually added it in their framework, so AOSP and most Android ROM will not support it (unless it is based on Samsung ROM)
does it mean I have to flash back into gingerbread rom??? so sad because i really like this icssgs rom.

If you really want it, you have to use stock ROM, or you can use alternative like GTalk, Hangout G+ or Skype...

Tango ?
Have you tried Tango yet ? I have found that I can get the front facing camera working on 1 ICS rom, ICSSGS 4.2 so far with this program.
Hi I have flashed a camera mod for ics but CM and my rom is only ICS but not based on CM, so now my camera does not work.
Currently I´m using Thrustr V2.0. Can anybody tell me any mod for camera?
Thanks

To fix your broken camera (app), reflash the ROM. Currently there are no camera mods for ICS on the O2x

Is not possible to unpack the rom to get only the camera and flash it via recovery?

You can, but the camera mod also flashes some other stuff like some library files, which you'd have to replace/remove manually. Reflashing the ROM is so easy, and it is surely faster and guaranteed to solve the issue.

Ok. I did the personalization of the rom, so now I am a bit lazy. I will do it tomorrow probably.
I like a particular ROM (omega beta 7.1 I think it was) but it does not have a camera. I also like the camera in the m'rage rom V3. What are the procedures to get my pie and eat it too? Can an idiot like myself quickly install a kitchen and pick and choose what they want from different roms and rebuild the rom and de-o-dex or whatever else has to happen?

you can do that easily with root explorer
copy camera apk in apps and change permissions but as it otse;f does not have camera right now i fear camera will not work cos it is not supported yet
You just cant install a camera app from any rom to another.. Omega rom has OMNI rom as base(i.e Kitkat 4.4.X), while M'rage rom is stock based(i.e Gingerbread 2.3.X).. Camera of M'rage rom wont work on Omega rom.. You can only use apps of the roms if they have the same base..

OK, thanks. I might give it a try. Worst case scenario, would it fry my camera or LED..?

Thanks, are you aware of a 4.4 based camera with the bells and whistles of the M'rage camera?
Should I presume this is a missing dependencies related issue or kernel/drivers issue or something else?
How can I learn more about this?

Stock camera app won't work on CM11 unless you deodex it first. It actually comes out of the ROM in 3 parts. To deodex, all 3 parts are combined in to one. I'm not running stock so I can't get you the files. Sorry.
So I have switched to Gcam for a time but I miss the stock camera app now. It is way smoother and gives more bright color.
Now the problem is I am running an custom rom, and all of the apk that I have downloaded doesn't work.
Will the stock camera app work on a custom rom? And if it work then where to download the apk file?
