[Q]When Can We Get A CM ROM For Sensation XL? - HTC Sensation XL

When can we get a CM ROM? The hTC stock ROM and the other roms based on it are so heavy, I want a light rom so that I can do more customize on it.

I know this is random but we're in general so I guess It's okay... Could someone who knows their stuff, just post a list of what we would need to get CM on our phone, just out of curiosity... And I have googled this already, haven't found a lot though.

If you want to make a rom based off Aosp you need at least 30 gbs.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Like the poster above stated you need at least 30gbs for building, but most guides recommend around 60 just in case. Also be sure to allocate enough RAM to your vm box when setting it up.

Testers for custom 3.0.16 kernel?

Hey guys. I was wondering if I can get a couple testers for my team's kernel for the Inc S. We would test ourselves, but none of us have the device
Either post in the the thread or PM me if interested.
I'll close this when I get enough testers or i release. One of the two.
I will test it if you promise it won't hard bricked
Also, I read something about the ramdisk being edited to stop the new /lib partition or something so that it works on older hboots like the revolutionary one
Is this true?
Am asking every me because the op is not an incredible s dev
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
The kernel will for sense rom or aosp?
I agree with markj338
If it won't brick our device then we'd like to have a try
And is there any chance that we can get rom which build by blackout team?

[Q] asking some suggestions :)

I would install a custom ROM on my SXL. But i need to ask you something before. If i will install a custom ROM, will i have better perfomance? Could i have some problems like bugs or my hardware would be broken?
Then..
Do i have first to root my phone? Then what do i have to do? What is the best ROM for SXL? is it Cyanogen?
Thank you so much for your paying attention
Go to HTC Sensation XL Android Development and find guide how to root Sensation XL after you completely root your phone Find This Rom SS_KINGCOBRA I think is the best Rom ever made for S XL . The performance is incredible but you must read everything and if you not sure about somithing better asking before you try to do . If I helped you hit the thanks button

Performance will be better in most Rom. You can brake hardware if you are not following the guides but that is a bit rare. In some time you will have bugs but most of the Roma a pretty bug free. As lexmazter sais no cyanogenmod yet and I can't say what Rom is the best. They are all good you can use lexmazters multi tool to flash a recovery and things like that but you need too unlock bootloader first

So i searched "ath6kl_sdio.ko" in google and i found this: https://community.freescale.com/docs/DOC-93603.
I continue to look and i found "/lib/modules/3.5.0-17-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath6kl/ath6kl_sdio.ko" in ubuntu linux-image-extra-3.5.0-17-generic package: http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/i386/linux-image-extra-3.5.0-17-generic/filelist
And this: http://cjix.info/blog/files/nitdroid/AR6003Android.pdf
I just wonder, Can not we using these resources and find the wi-fi driver?
kidding no?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38287041&postcount=109
And this say a HTC Dev.
And I think we can use that if we can port to Android
Sorry for my english.

guys, i was browsing in the kernel source files. i found "ath5k, ath9k and carl9170" wireless drivers in "net/wireless/ath/" folder. but we need "ath6kl" folder.
i found that folder in http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/drivers/net/wireless/ath/?v=3.2 adress. almost the same as our. there is just have an extra folder and we need that folder! ath5k folder on this site, the same as ours kernel folder.
our kernel source code ath folder in attachments. if you want to take a look.
guys, the attachmented file is ath6kl folder. so, one of the developer to try it.
sorry for my bad english.
donno if it helps, just found it:

It does seem like a similar file, but it needs to be tested by someone who can build kernels.

like our mr. einstein.frat for example
Yeah, but he needs to talk to us Come on Einstein, we are depending on you.
A dev sent me this link, he said it wouldn't require hardcore coding skills to do it: https://github.com/kvalo/ath6kl/tree/master/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath6kl
and I found this, looks interesting: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/ath6kl

Me? Ehm... Remember to ask for permission. Those guys have use so damn many hours resizing everything so they need for sure proper credotsm a while back they did say no permission was being allowed at that point at all.
I'm compiling and not porting anymore. I'll at some point have a look at codefirex again. See if I can get a kernel up and running for codefirex.
