I would be willing to donate 100$ for a tablet honeycomb or a tablet ui ics port for my bionic

Im not much of a well known Dev. But I know my way around programming and Android. Ill look into this and reply back with what I've found, and if its possible.it should be seeing as they did this to the nexus roms. But I'll check back when I investigate more.

It is really easy to turn an ICS build into tablet mode. If you pick one of the ICS builds out for the bionic that you want to run I will show you how to do it all for the low cost of a thanks.

I like this ics rom. http://www.mediafire.com/?v16w74zbwrx480x thank you so much
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
This is rather simple to accomplish. The biggest thing you have to do for this to happen is change the screen density. Since the tablet ics ui is fused in with phone roms now.

I set it to 155 and it didn't do anything except make everything small. What else do I do?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the battery for the Droid 3 is the same as the one for the OG Droid / Droid 2. I have a few of the extended batteries from my original Droid and thought it'd be cool if I could use them in a D3 if I bought one.
Thanks!

Definitely not the same. Was a little cranky about that at first. Had an extra battery and standalone battery charger for my OG Droid. Gave them to my sister along with the phone. lol
Its not the same. THe Droid 3 battery is slimmer and taller.
Hey guys Verizon needs to replace my Thunderbolt and after so many replacements they offered me a bionic. Would it be a good choice over my Bolt? We have S-off and Unlocked bootloader.
Pros of bionic:
Dual core 1.0ghz
1gb ram
Lots of great devs
Cons:
Stock has blur
Locked bootloader
And it's moto so probably no stock ics for about a year

another PRO for Bionic is killer long battery life since the .901 update, .902 is killer battery life also.
I uses to have the thunderbolt. The bionic is a much better phone.

Yeah this one's a no brainer. Get the bionic.
Regarding the above cons:
• Hexec workaround was recently posted allowing for custom kernels. This was really the last issue caused by the locked bootloader. In less than a month it will be old news
• There are CM9, AOKP, AOSP, and MIUI variants of ICS available now and improving daily. Who needs stock ICS?
My buddy has a tbolt and there's no comparison in the speed, responsiveness and battery life.

Well I told her I use the extended battery on my thunderbolt and told her that 4G phones have poor battery life. So she said ok free extended battery.
And now I'm getting $40 from a coworker for the thunderbolts extended battery and the verizon case I had.

I think the skilled developers are on Motorola though. Look at what these guys are doing with a locked bootloader. We got a handful of ice cream with a locked bootloader. How much more can they do if it was unlocked.

im part of a concession line and we get upgrades every year. best buy mobile has been treating me so well that i just ended up buying the bionic. i got a tbolt for free and it was a great phone but when bionic came out like 2 months later i bought the bionic. i got it for 230 at cowboom.com. thats were we send all our phones that we get returned or serviced. its EXTREMELY cheap. spread it. i love my bionic and i plan on selling it tho. im using my tbolt because i got the infected rom on it with beats. i like it but i kind of miss my bionic. either way rezound here i come!!
Why would you NOT trade your garbage 3G tBolt for a bionic? Even if you had the data issues with the bionic, it's 100x better.

Well so far I like it. Battery life is better then my bolt. I would get the bionic for sure. Also, just a hint tell them you saw online that to transfer data from your phone to the PC you need to Motorola USB cable just a heads up

Actually now that I've had it I would have taken a bolt again is so weird all this stuff you have to do to flash anything. And it seems lime the only roms out are ics which are ok but still too many things broken for me. And there are no stock like roms with alot of features like on sense. But I like the phone. I just had more options on the bolt being I'm a themer I want something solid I can theme. But the bolt was the best phone for everything. And my data connection and speed is the same on both phones.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
One thing though is the bionic screen and colors in it suck big time
And the rom selection on the bolt was crazy huge.

If you want a fully functional ROM, go with eclipse or kinetx. ALL of the ICS roms are still BETAs and updates LAG immensely. Jus so you know.

But I definitely think so.

I would like to get the Razr MAXX... But good trade I have the Tbolt too but use my Bionic mostly better device for the most part.
Just wish the camera was as good as the TBolts.
Went with Eclipse 2.2 with Titanium theme. Solid so far.
Now, the true test: battery life!

yep the ics roms are actually ics. they have no hardware acceleration yet though so flash doesn't work. also depending on what area your in ppl have problems with data drops. when it drops you gotta reboot to get it back. we need to get an official moto update with a better kernel and ics drivers to get it really solid.

So I recently shattered the screen on my Rezound
Thinking of getting a Bionic since Big Red has them for free. What do you guys think of the Bionic? Is development going strong? And do ICS ROMs exist? Are they stable enough to be a daily driver? Any input is welcomed
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
If your warranty allows it, get another Rezound.
Development is not that active. Eclipse is the only active Gingerbread-base ROM available. Team Gummy & Hive Dev are doing ICS ROMs but since the locked bootloader of the Bionic prevents kernel changes, ICS is not 100% functional.
Well I have insurance on my Rezound but I don't have the $99 for the insurance claim and I have an upgrade on my plan now. Anything is better than the DX I'm using right now haha

I agree. I have the Bionic and my wife has the Rezound. I feel like I got the short end of the stick here.
You're better off to stay with the X and save up the insurance deductible, IMHO.
That being said, the Bionic ICS ROMs are nice, but they all have the silly camera issues. Those might not be resolved until an official Moto ICS is released. You can take pictures using the cameras, but no video, and no barcode scanners, etc.
Eclipse is a nice Gingerbread ROM. It's what I'm running now.
What if I could have both? Haha the upgrade is my moms, so it won't add time to my line. And later I can send the Rezound in to the insurance and get it fixed. Then I will have both. I don't see the downside in trading this DX for a Bionic for free. Because I cannot stand this phone after having my Rezound.

I will chime in here and tell you im currently on my third bionic in a week and number 4 will be delivered tomorrow. I would STAY AWAY from this phone. But if you dont plan on using this phone for anything other then developement i would wait on the rezound .

Personally I'm a big fan of the Bionic. I got mine on release day last September and haven't had any major problems in all that time. I'm rooted and stock, with about 45 bloatware apps frozen. Each time there's an update I just unfreeze, update and refreeze with TiBu. Works great. If you don't want to spend the money for another Rezound I say go for it.
Unfortunately this is no longer an option for me. My girlfriend decided it would be a good idea to dump gatorade on her uninsured Rhyme. So now the upgrade will be going to her. Looks like I'll just have to bite the bullet and make an insurance claim

I web surf on my phone daily without issue. I would not say what you experienced is common for other users.
Maybe you need to take a phone 101 class, or buy from a different seller.

Lol phone 101 class? ?? I get my phones from Verizon . I cant help the data drop issues ( which is a KNOWN issue with this phone ) do a google search on the data drops and you will clearly see its not just me. If it dont bother you that the data drops off multiple times a day and you are used to sub par performance and you dont mind paying for data droppage thats you but I personally want my phone to work . The 905 update is rolling out to try and fix the DATA DROP ISSUE. There you have your first phone 101 lesson.

Moving to Q&A
I just recently got switched from the Fascinate to the Droid 3. I had to send back my Fassy for warranty and was given a choice between a Continuum, a DX2 and this Droid 3. While its not my favorite device, I couldn't pass up a free phone change (that so far definitely seems like an upgrade).
Obviously Motorola locked down the device but I've done some work with a DX, so bootstrapping to go around a locked bootloader isn't too new to me.
Besides that, is there anything considered "need-to-know" besides general knowledge I should know (like one-click stock methods, etc.?) I'd love to play around with the ROMs but I'd rather not kill my D3 already lol.
