[Q] Bought an Optimus 2x - LG Optimus 2x

I just bought an optimus 2x, what is the best rom and kernel out there??
and how can I root and put CWM on the Optimus 2x ??

Hello,
I also bought a LG p990, I'll stick to this thread so i don't have to open a new one.
I would like to know which rom is stable, lag free and has a long battery time. I heard that the EaglesBlood Rom is very battery friendly.

I would suggest to you SuperOneClick for rooting your phone and CWM 5.0.2.8; this is what i'm currently using and i have flashed several custom roms/kernels using this. I'll help you find the tutorial link on how to root LG 2x. Hope it helps.

Which is better Stock ROM with Custom Kernel or CM7 ??
Which is the best ROM and Kernel out there?

You could also try owains cm9 build. I use it and I'm really happy with how it works.

I would suggest, Temasek's unofficial CM7 build combine with Vadonka's kernel. There are some bug/issues regarding the kernel but you can try it out. I'm using temasek's stock cm7 with voodoo sound. It's in his thread. Check it out!

I think there is no "the best". It depends on your requirements.
Still not providing Hardware acceleration, i would mark a question sign at CM9. But anyway, if you dont do a lot of videos, you might be happy.

Some custom rom come with CWM and some othet stuff check their changelog. Try temasek rom gd build.

I would not use CM7.1 stable, it's to old, you would be better off with a new nightly build or Temaseks Final KANG(i use it too)
ETaNa ist a good kernel, i'm running it on my device.

Where i can find it?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA App
My signature . You can find both ETaNa Kernel and Temasek's KANG.
Hi,
loot at here
There are some explanations of 5 kernel
Personnally, i use ironKrn48
hoping to have you helped
bye
But those kernels can‘t be mounted on the cm7.1 stable (examples vadonka or swif) or i‘m wrong?

Personnaly,
I use CM7 Nightly, and i run with ironkrnl 49mb ram-hack. And it's run. My baseband is 725 and my RIL is v20l. But i find that my batttery don't live a long time.
For the Others kernels, i am testing them.
Now i‘m testing 23/02 KANG build with Etana 20/02 without DS, it seems work good

are you looking Undervolt support version? if yes then, you should at least try swiftextreme or vadonka kernel. i know that vadonka support for UV. but it depends on your decision try to look at the android development section.
and 1 more thing, don't hope your device will same with other people. example mine can't do UV
I dont think there is a need to have a whole new thread.. this info is already floating around in the general and the dev section

[Q] recommended CM7 Kernel

Since i've been on CM7 with Temasek's kang i've been using Etana kernel. I've found myself wanting to play Plants vs Zombies and Draw Something among other games.
Are there any CM7 kernels that can play those games properly perhaps with ramhack and power saving tweaks enabled? Does Temasek's CM7 kernel kang play those games or does everyone stick with stock kernel?
I'm on cm7's stock kernel. And I can play PVZ fine.
I suggest you try stock.

Yeah i'm using it and it works fine. Does temasek's kang kernel work too? I might add Voodoo sound as something i'm after.
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA
I tested temasek's kernel kang PvZ and draw something work there. Also got Voodoo on it . I'm still interested in something with ramhack or power saving if the other things i'm after work. If someone could recommend would be appreciated

New Etana Kernel Versions have some issues with the r/w permissions in /system
PvZ, Shadowgun, Tapsonic, all good with cm7 stock kernel.
Sent from Hogwarts using my Tapatalk Owl named Optimus2x
Yea i'm sticking with temasek's kanged kernel. I tried ironkrnl and imperticus which the latter has no ramhack and still can't play those games.

Can't flash last Vadonka's
Hi everyone,
I believe Etana v3.0.y (OC version) is absolutely the best kernel for CM7 I've tried so far.
But today... I just couldn't flash the last version (15 APR)!!
The process stopped saying that my ROM was unsupported. I'm on Temasek's last kang (89) and I just don't believe that all of a sudden this rom is not supported anymore...
Can anyone give me an advice about this trouble ? What's happening?
Thanks in advance
Nicola
I had that come up trying to change kernels. I think it has to do with the system not writable on the current 3.0 kernels. It wouldn't even let me format system in CWM but flashing temaseks kang would then let me format system. Also reflash temaseks kang after formatting system as well as gapps.

Ok, so do you think I have to reflash the kang and then try to reflash the kernel ?
I really don't want to format the system; if it's not possible, I think I will stay with the 12 apr. version as long as Vadonka will fix the trouble: by the way It's not that bad ...
Yeah you don't need to format system. I read you need to when changing kernels because some change it. Since your upgrading it won't affect you.

Thank you so much. It worked for me.
Etana .32 for stability.
And if you want new experiments, you can use etana 3.0/ imperticus 3.0 kernels

Some Problems with my O2X

Hi I have MIUI [GB] 2.4.6 running and have a few problems, not sure if its related to the rom
1. The accelerometer sensor doesnt seem to work properly in Temple Run.
2. Some times the data connection is lost and I have to manually select network again. Phone calls are fine. Baseband 824
And is there camera mod working for MIUI roms for better quality?
as for the camera i would advise to try 360 camera free from the market, as for the other issues, i would advise you to get cm7 or a stock based rom with a good kernel, or maybe just try updating the baseband, i think its a bit old and a new kernel might help you
Any recommended kernels for MIUI?
Definitely latest etana beta kernel.

IS this the recommnded out of the 4?
Its based on your preference you have stock /no oc/, OC, and with DS batery driver. Based on the date you havent flashed beta but stable.

I am totally new here on XDA. I recently rooted my OB and wants to install stable custom rom. I searched a lot but cant decide with which one I have to go. Please give me some advice.
Thanks in advance...

In the world, Zeus 6.39 ROM is most stable ...even developers had agreed that...no doubt
Of course, Zeus v7 is also available, but 6.39n is best battery backup, stable, and fast ..
CM10 and Korean official are available now, but not stable.
All the best..
Press THANKS button if helped
Thanks... downloading Zeus v6.39..
Please inform me if any stable ICS or JB release in the future.

Don't use the Nightly CM10 for the P970.
Reboots 15 times / day without a reason.
I test the AOPK Jellybean tonight. Hope it's stable.
Tell me after you test it.

One more thing, I am using v6.39n but when I reboot my phone or if delete any file or folder of the SD card its taking too much time to prepare Memory Card.

hi
i'm also new here. I want to know if you're happy with zeus 6.39. does it support arabic or farsi?
one other noob question. In order to install it first I have to install V6.3 and then I have to flash Z6.39 via CWM. Am I right?

Yes I am happy with this Zeus Rom. I am currently using v6.39n. Very smooth, very fast and battery backup is awesome.I found no bug except Memory card preparing problem which I already told here.
I think it doesn't support Arabic by default. But there is an addon/extras file which you can flash via CWM to get Arabic language. Here is the link..
http://huexxxtuff.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/zeus-rom-links.html?m=1 ..
There are two zip files of this Rom.
V6.3n and 6.39n update
First You have to flash Zeus v6.3n and then Zeus 6.39n update file through the CWM. Before flash do a factory reset, wipe dalvik cache etc etc.....
Press Thanks if I help you.

No, I am on AOKP JB (4.1.2) and is bad. I have to remove battery thrice a day to restart it (missing hardware reset button like PC :laugh battery drainage is bad, it takes time as GMT only (not IST). But looks and feel of JB is good

zeus v6.4 i good rom and marvel v9 is also good GB rom. it will support your language, but if you type your language from right to left, it wont support the alignment. it will show everything correct on screen, but when you will type a message or a note, it will start from left side.
all the GB based roms that i tried and in the past month, i think i tried at least 6 roms in total. none of the GB based roms had RTL support. if the Right To Left alignment support really important to you, i suggest you try Zeus IZS or Marvel v11, the RTL is built in ICS so it works flawless.
good day
Slim Bean 4.1.2
I would say, all stock based roms are the most stable. cm10 based ones are about 85%, but this also depends on the used kernel. it's up to you to find the best combo for your usage
* From my funky phone
There is no such thing as the best, most stable ROM or kernel.
Everyone is looking for something different, so such discussions are pointless.

Best rom and kernel?

I am looking for a good rom for Optimus 4x, I bought a week ago. My old phone was a galaxy 5, then had a few roms available, but with the Optimus 4x there are several roms, and I do not know which to choose. In your opinion, what is the fastest and most stable rom, and the best kernel?
Beat ROM threads are not allowed on XDA as you will get six different opinions from five different people
Read the threads, decide the ones you like the sound of and try them.
Hehe. For me CM 10.1 + iodak kernel. As many users as many ways...

Iodak kernel v07 or v06 go with v06 for better battery. Stay stock and just use Iodak Kernel
At the moment I'm with Slim Bean rom, with kernel Optimus prime. The performance is very good, and the battery is satisfactory
I use JellyBeer Rom with the new WerewolfJB kernel and I think i have good Battery life
You must try it by yourself

Yeah I've been using cm10 based ROMs and kernels most of the time I've had this device , just went back to 20a with Kodak 006 and its highest benchmark with easily the best battery , loving stock 4.1 atm
I use CM 10.1 + WerewolfJB v7
Yes I found the same iodak v6 seems the best as v7 seems not as good on batt or performance.
