Hi all
I have an issue my country South Africa, released mobile TV but the problem arises when the application (DSTV Mobile Decoder) does not work on rooted devices.
So I am currently on THS build 17 ICS 4.0.3 and would like to know if its possible to unroot my phone and root it back easily.
Thanks

There are apps that can do this. Not sure what they are called. Will look and let you know.

I bought one samsung captivate SGH-I897, But after i got it i looked on it and found there is no option to install out of market apps. Everytime.i try to install somthing from outside market it says " for security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from android market".
I somehow manage to root to using oneclick root but still there is no option to install outside apps and it stil says same thing.
Please help, i want to unlock it use on my tmobile too.

You have to enable non-market apps using Odin,
Or install a rom to your phone like continumm this will automaticly allow non market apps

On the oneclickroot program there's an option to " allow non market apps" to unlock your phone you'll need to SEARCH xda or Google/xda on the one click unlocker for captivate. Some captivates it works others are to new. + galaxy s unlocker in the market has proven to work for some.

There was a option for that and i clicked yes but still its not done.
If u spend like 20 minutes (if even that) searching for this topic/issue, you will find your answer. Try it out.

I have the APK file for the new version of NetFlix 1.4.1. I have tested this on a Rooted 3.2 Xoom with the Arcturus 1.3.1 Kernel.
download HERE
Enjoy and I do not support this APK file. I just wanted to post the update for others who cannot get any APK files. On the Marketplace it only says "Minor Fixes" for version 1.4.1
Install Instructions
1. download and put APK file on Xoom
2. in a File Explorer (Search Android Market - I use File Manager Honeycomb) click APK file
3. follow instuctions
Browsing through the movies seems real slow with the new version.
capable of doing full screen ?
no problems here
Strange after a reboot scrolling is fine. Runs great!

Hi, did you do something special? I'm in Chile too, but I get a message about update my device. I'm on Tiamat 2.2 btw.
Sent from my MZ601 using Tapatalk
Nothing special, just sign up to the free 30 days for the new service, tried to install the 1.3 manually, but without success, and after , get the 1.4 from this forum and install it, replacing the old one, and it works.... hdmi out (video and sound) also on my 37''LCD.
Since I don't have any windows PC ( Just Linux ) that is my only device able to play netflix.... outside of virtual machine and other tweaks of course ;=)
I'm running on the 2.1 Taimat rom with a overclocked kernel 2.6.36.4

You should try to get the apk from your other devices. I use AppMonster to get the off my phone.

Its the same apk, the Canadian Netflix probably checks the build.prop which is different for us running a custom build

If it is the same then wouldn't act the same? I just thought if it was country or region specific then it would hurt for him to try the Netflix from his own phone on his device.

No luck in Switzerland
doesn't work here. On vacation in Europe - tried using my US netflix account using VPN on my Tab 10.1 - no luck. I don't know how they block it on Android - works perfectly well on my wife's iPad, using the same method.

If you're on gingerbread. Search for Megatron root in this forum. Otherwise ICS is out and is easily rooted.

Hey Guys, I was out of the country for the past month. I got back yesterday only to find my phone got the OTA update and i didn't want that as i was planning to root it. My question is can i still root it or is there a way to roll back my phone? Any help is appreciated guys. Much thanks!
I believe you can still use kingoroot. Be warned this method delivers some info about your phone to their servers. But to the best of my knowledge this is currently our only option.

Thanks. I would rather not use this option if I can help it. Any other options?
Do not use the Root De la Vega method on your MJ5 or you will create an unrecoverable brick. kraz

I own a N920C with root and Dr. Ketan's rom.
I have noticed that the smart manager say always that a threat found.
As you can see in the attached photo there is no details about it.
Any ideas ?
Maybe has something to do with Knox?
Since you're using a custom ROM.
Root and super user are the threats..

Makes sense...
I know that can be the reason but I guess then that if I'll press reboot that will block my root.
Thought that maybe someone have experience it as well.
On the S6 post root, this was fixed for me by freezing securitylogagent using titanium backup.
