aLauncher, launcher Widget for applications, contacts and more

Hello,
I am new on this forum and in the Android developper community, and here is my first application:
aLauncher is a launcher widget for applications, contacts, bookmarks and playlists.
I came with the idea of this application when I realized, after using my phone for a while, that I was out of space on my home and that my Application Tab was a real mess. I then decided to create a Widget that would allow to sort conveniently my stuff without losing time to find and launch an application from an overcrowded list.
Also, I wanted to be able to gather in the same place applications, contacts, bookmarks and playlists that belong to the same "realm" (my often used applications and contacts for work in one place, my favorite games and music in another...).
aLauncher is a widget to address this.
It displays 4 icons in a row on the home screen, each one giving access to a fully customizable launcher (default to: Phone & office, Internet & Navigation, Games and Others).
Each Launchers comes as a screen with 3 tabs. Each tab has 16 free spots where you can freely add application shortcuts, contacts, bookmarks or playlists and move them around (so to say, a Launcher has the look'n'feel of the application tab, but behaves like the home screen).
It also supports gestures: you can tilt your phone to navigate through tabs.
Here are a few screenshots: widget on home, opened launcher and dialog for adding an application (as you can see, it supports English and French locales):

}
2 versions are available on the Market:
aLauncher Free is free but the number of shortcuts is limited
aLauncher is full and comes for 1,39€ (currently $1.99)
I'm waiting for your comments and suggestions!
ps: a few early users from a previously released beta experienced crashes, this is now solved!
Hi puppetdroid
just a suggestion , on your first picture {left} it shows the music symbol listed for games. I suggest you change the Icon to a more game type icon.
Also , Have you got them Pictures but all of the text is in English??
Thanks!

Yes, I agree for embedded icons: I wanted to use only built-in icons from Android but none is good for games. Anyway, it is customizable: you can change name and icon at will
About text, default text is in English or French depending on your locale, and labels can be edited freely!

[Theme] Clear and clean theme for LauncherPro and Weather & Toggle Widget

Okay, so I got inspired to do this:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
...after looking around in this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761517
I especially liked the cleaner looking themes, but wanted something even more streamlined. So I started by doing the following:
I thought that the samurai wallpaper was awesome, so I found it via Google here:
http://www.outlawdesignblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/samurai_me_by_patleeart.jpg
..and hit it with the sepia filter in Photoid. That darkened it up enough for me.
The dock I found on Deviant Art here:
http://kimboprice.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2ydmvn
...and ran it through GIMP. The only part that remained was the app drawer icon. I made the borders on the app drawer icon bolder, erased the rest and made new text icons and the simple white upper border.
For clock I used the DigiTrans clock skin for Weather & Toggle Widget that is available for free on the Market, and modified the widget background (simple white border and clock underline with a 25% transparency), AM icon and PM icon in GIMP.
To use any of it, just put the clock skin ZIP on your SD card in the appropriate folder and select it through the widget skin wizard in your Weather & Toggle Widget settings menu; the wallpaper is a no brainer; for the dock, using LauncherPro select preferences>appearance>dock background>custom image and choose it from the gallery, then use the included blank icon for the app drawer, phone and task manager apps.
There are two docks in the ZIP, a black one for lighter wallpapers and a white one for darker wallpapers.
Mods, please feel free to close this thread or remove any of my attachments if anything is not in line or if I've left out any credits. Everything I used was found on the web or in the market for free, except Weather & Toggle Widget which folks will have to download from the market on their own.
Hope some of your guys will like this theme.

[Guide] How to create a true live icon with current date that launches stock Calendar

It's unfathomable that Android itself doesn't yet have live icons for the Calendar and Clock, like TouchWiz does, or another operating system I can't recall the name of.
Sure, Today Calendar (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.underwood.calendar_beta) is a great app with a live icon but what if you want to launch the stock Google Calendar?

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Here's my simple How To:
1. LAUNCHER
- This requires a Launcher that allows overlapping widgets/icons. I recommend Nova Launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
- In Nova turn on Settings > Desktop > Widget overlap, and Overlap when placing
2. INSTALL
- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.underwood.calendar_beta
And
- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.minimaltext
3. PLACEMENT
- Remove Google Calendar icon from your homescreen
- Place Today Calendar icon in its place
- Edit the icon to rename it "Calendar"
- Add a 1x1 Minimalistic Text widget to the homescreen and place it over the Calendar icon
4. SHORTCUT
- In Minimalistic Text setup, first turn off Show background
- Delete the text rows from the widget so Layout tab is empty
- In Tap Behavior check Start another activity
- In Select an activity, choose the Google Calendar app
- Hit the Save icon above it and return home
Hey presto, a live date icon that launches Google Calendar. When you hit the Calendar icon you're actually launching the transparent widget activity.
If this helped you feel free to click Thanks. Thanks!
Also, the icon pack GLIM has a live icon for the calendar in the app drawer as well, on the free version as well.
Plenty of icon packs have this but if you've set Nova to use the stock Android icons, changing the Calendar icon to one from such an icon pack will not result in it updating every day. My solution above is the only way if you use stock icons.
Cheers!

Looking for a MIUI / Xiaomi theme like

Hello,
Im a new Z3c owner.
As far as I understood, I should keep the offical xperia rom (updated to android 6) if I want to keep the full potential of this phone.
Especialy regarding Camera quality, right ?
So, what would you recommand in order to get a Xiomi / Miui / iOS like theme ?
In order to :
- remove the app folder button
- have better app icons than xperia ones..
Thanks for you help
Hopefully this may help you. I use nova launcher for the exact same look you want to achieve. And the most consistent icon pack that works for me is pop ui. Once you select the icon pack in nova launcher, the icons will replace the old ones, however you can then change whichever icons that don't suit your look with other alternatives in the pack. Both are paid apps but serve their purpose really well. You can get the free version of nova launcher but you will sacrifice certain things like changing icon size and icon notification badges. You will need the teslaunread app as well to get the badge notifications. If you want an exact clone of ios you can download png icon packs from deviant art and replicate the status bar with an xposed module called Flat Style Bar Indicators. But all that will probably turn you into an obsessive ios freak lol, plus it requires too much time and effort. I love the freedom of android but I love the look of ios, so I manage to get the best of both on my z3 compact.

*edit* as far as the app drawer goes, you have 3 options... 1) You could just remove it and forget about all the apps you don't use. 2) you could just change the app drawer icon to a folder icon and just think of it as a folder which houses all of your unnecessary apps. 3) nova launcher 5 Beta allows you to access the app drawer by swiping up from the dock.
Hope this helps.
