Doctorz rom v16....

jw5 stock odexed, semaphore 2.7.4 kernel to boost smoothness and speed a bit, tasker to automate a few things here and there, and juice defender ultimate which gives amazing battery life in standby, easily halving the usual draining.
honest, I think you can customize your stock rom by yourself based on your needs and be more than statisfied

Does it have RTL add-on ? Cuz this very important to me.
And btw, did u try the Hybrid v14 Rom ? It is really awesome. But sometimes i have some problems in it, and i dont know if the problem is from it or from the apps that i use. I sometimes have Sleep of Death( i sometimes try to turn the screen on but it doesn't) and i face lags when playing games like angrybird Space, anf Cut the Rope.....

Just wanted to know what is the best kernel for longer battery life from your experiences? I'm using custom JVO rom (Criskelo Gingerbread v64)
Stock kernel best for battery. Or..close second undervolting with Damian kernel. Modems can make a BIG difference to battery life also. I get nearly double battery life since switching to jvp modem. Also some Apps can cause big drain. Its all about finding what's right for you.

Can I install JVP modem into JVO rom? Or should I fully switch to JVP rom & modem to get better battery life... I thought JVP has lot of bugs like auto brightness broken with custom kernels...

Does JVP rom/modem has more battery life than JVO and JVH? I've read everyone says that JVP really fast and quadrant scores are really high... but not many ppl talked abt the battery life...

Today I have tested both (on LPY German firmware).
All in all, at the moment I prefer Speedmod, which looks smoother.
In the morning I have used Franco kernel, but two times it happened that my device got slower and slower until rebooted. I had also several lags.
In the afternoon I installed Speedmod, when I saw there was a second version (which includes CWM). No lags, no slowdowns so far.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
On the 2 latest kernels, l get higher scores in antutu and quadrant using franco kernel.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Have used speedmod and franco on stock lpf for me franco broke my wifi connection there's a workaround for this which is to se your phone is statically and not via dhcp
On speedmod my wifi works though haven't tested the latest one
I then decided just to go back to stock
Both sort of claim to had fix the brick bug issue thought they do say they need more evidence that is fix. But as of now there has been only one brick on franco but further analysis is needed to confirm
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Both are good
atm using franco's kernel. its smooth and no problems at all.
Im on kingdroid v2 using apex launcher
I am using Franco right now, seems responsive
But there's no overclock capability in the voltage control app.
Anyone has luck playing with the oc uv
comparing benchmark tests scores, franco kernel wins, but comparing reality score speedmod kernel wins for sure. I get low score with speedmod kernel but it is the most smoothest, bug-free ics kernel so far. Dont look at those benchmark test ^^

Basically, you're asking the users out there do you prefer blonde or dark hair girl?
one man's meat maybe another man's poison. You gotta try it on you own to feel it.
what about this kernel under LFP?
Speedmod on stockrom. Read to many issues with Francos for now. For the rest, like comment above its a matter of preference

Both are good, however Speedmod is slightly better with LPF. (IMHO) Franco has more bells and whistles, but Speedmod seems to be a little more stable based on the apps that I have and my usage patterns. My advise is to try both, but please follow the installation process to the letter. A few times I've done what I thought was best with flashing kernels, but actually ended up wiping/re-flashing etc and then following the instructions to the letter with success.
Latest... Tried Franco #4.... Now as good as Speedmod, if not better.
Been on franco for a few days now ... everything is smooth so far.
It seems like speedmod is alot smoother than franco, even though Franco scores higher in benchmark tests.

could describe what is the best kernel for our galaxy notes regarding battery consumption? either in stock or custom rom
thanks
Best kernel for me is notecore kernel by gavin. Best performance and yet best battery life.. The OC version is also great cause it is with undervoltage that makes battery life the best. I can get a maximum of 15 hours with regular use..

Personal opinion, no offence to anyone. Keep try the 2 hottest tw based custom kernel available at note forum. Hardcore speedmod k3-13 was the best in terms of stable, smooth and most importantly battery performance at on screen usage was superb.
Please give at least 24 hours to let the new flashed kernel settle down. Then you will can see the real performance.
Once again about the battery drain performance is very subjective issue. Its really depend on personal usage.
Give both kernel a try. Then you can feel the different. Maybe im wrong..

well I think I'll have to try both to give a personal opinion, thank you very much for your help

SpeedMod, no doubt about it. best battery life kernel you can get.
Tried all them speedmod versions.. but went back to the latest version still... Phone's battery life simply wouldn't die.. Played all day graphic intensive games, sync emails,3G, wifi, BT, and at the end of the day... I still get a little more battery juice out of my phone.
Simply awesome dude!

And yes stock based would be the best choice to go with.

basically there is no rom which is specifically made for improvin gaming speed! so my advice to you is dat download GAME BOOSTER. its an app which would increase ur gamin speed at the cost of battery. hit thnx if helpd!

No. Every rom has it's own up and downs. So if you need a rom for one specific goal, then one Rom is accually better then the other.. e.g. you don't use cm10 if you need a good battery/camera.
Quite logical if you ask me.
And I think cm7 uses less RAM then stock, so cm7 is indeed a better choice.

That is the problem. It is a matter of opinion. What you think (regardless of your logic) doesn't make any rom better than the other (at anything). Prove your reasons by standardised, peer reveiwed methods before you say that.
I think that mods will close this thread. That doesn't mean it will happen.
One rom has better battery life than the other, but the other one might have more futures(did I spell that correct?) . Those r not opinions but facts, But which of those things you need/want, is up to you, so the best rom FOR YOU, doesn't have to be the best rom FOR ME. That's the opinion part.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
If you ask me I don't think it matters on the rom, but on the current performance governor and app running in the background.
Try installing a system app killer or changing your governor to lagfree or performance.
Best of luck!

You could also overclock but I'm not really a fan of that..

any CM7, performance governer, adrenaline boost before gaming. beware it may have an impact on battery.
Flashed the apocalypse rom and am using the adrenaline engine, AV got to say its defo the rom for me its very quick and I haven't had/got no problems with it at all
GT-S5830 APOCALYPSE ADRENALINE
for the music use power amp
for gaming use the rom you want with No-frills CPU Control and put cpu to 864 mHz and governor on smartassv2
IV set CPU at 806 that's working great so far and AV notice a list of kernals on this rom but don't want to flash 1 in case it messes the phone up and I'm not even sure if they work for my ace yet

BurtROM LSZ and PhilZ LSZ = PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY PERFECT.:good:

Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
It depends on how you define poor.
There's the usual things to do, you can undervolt to help, throttle the top end, get better battery stats to check for wake locks, make sure gps /wifi /bluetooth /sync aren't on when you don't need them. Turn down screen brightness as that probably the biggest drain on battery, so using apps with light background isn't great.
You can use different governor / scheduler combo. Some people say pegasusq /sio is a good one. Some apps help either by turning off services you don't need while your not using your phone or by adding tweaks to help efficiency.
Use search for battery tips as there's a lot of information out there.
That said there's always the old gem of 'new battery' depending on how old her note is. Remember there are larger than 2500mAh batteries out there, although above a certain point the battery gets thick and comes with a new back to help contain it.
Hope that helps.
