I installed the latest 30 April Nightly build rom from get.cm
i Thought this is the same as [ROM][ICS 4.0.4] AOKP for P1000/L/N - MILESTONE #5 **MTD** (30/04/2012)
I dont know if they are the same. On the XDA Rom page, it shows ROM CONTROL screenshot. Which, when i downloaded from get.cm the CM9 for P1 device released 30th April, it's not showing.
Can anyone please explain?
CyanogenMod 9 and Android Open KANG Project (CM9 and AOKP respectively) are different ROM's (different features and tweaks), but are both ICS-based ROM's, both are using MTD (and currently, both are 4.0.4).
Thanks a lot for your reply. I am not new to flashing, but I am new to posts and forums. I always read a lot through the forums. I was using Overcome 7 series 4.1.0 and upgraded to HumberOS ICS rom. Later on the humberOS page, i was guided to install ROM from the get.cm which made me go to 4.0.4
After that I installed the 30th april CM9 ROM, getting Wifi problem, it disconnects and fails to identify presence of WIFI.
Everything else is well, I just have a couple of suggestions regarding this ROM and a couple of tweaks feedback. If possible, can you guide me to the post thread related to CM9 for GTP-1000 so that i can let them know of my feedback?
All help will be appreciated.

Just a reminder not to post feedback in the other thread which is in development forum.

Does anyone know when will Cyanogen release CM9 [ICS] for SGS?
Eagerly awaiting it
Tx
Isn't it technically already out? Well, the alpha is... Look up teamhacksung ROM. It's the backbone to C9.
Don't ask for release dates is the first rule of CM. Me and a lot of other people are already running CM9, it's alpha so there are a few problems.
I recommend reading up on it otherwise you'll end up posting that you can't get into recovery and odin doesn't work.
I have been running Team hacksungs build 12 for a while now. Excellent ROM. I'm waiting for build 14 as 13 seems to have issue...Great ICS...much better than gingerbread IMO.
Hi everyone,
I would like upgrade my CyanogenMod but on official website is just old version on kernel Android 2.3.7.
So, there is my question.
If I want new Android, must I download new CyanogenMod (official?) or stock rom?
And if you have answer on my question can you post link too, please?
Thx
Sorry for my english

Since our phone is old there is no official support for CM, therfore later versions do not exist officially. Under dev section http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1028 in Inc s there is some CM 9 and CM 10 roms which is made by ours devs. You can see their respective threads what bugs they have and so on. A dev has managed to run latest kernel on CM 9. He is working on CM10 (there is a thread Cyan Vivo X) however still not released so if you wait maybe a week or two I bet he will be done with what he is doing and realease somewhat bugfree rom.
So I tried it. There are few problems but it looks fine.
Hey guys, i'm leaving tomorrow to another country where i will have trouble with internet so i'm trying to solve this tonight!
I just bought a galaxy tab with android 2.2. It's the GSM model and i really need to update my tab to android 4 to get all the apps working, i've no trouble if GSM function gets disabled on android 4, i only need wireless camera and a stable ROM.
Please please please post me some links so i can get this to work tonight!
thanks a million
All CM 10 ROMs are stable as they are CM based so you may try the base CM10 by CDESAI or AOKP by Stimpzor milestone 6 these are 4.1.2
You also have CM10.1 ROMs which they are stable to some degree but they still have some bugs.
I am not saying that a ROM is better than another but these what I test or prefer.
Last you should ask this in general or Q&A section.

Even though I shouldn't be bumping a non-development topic in a development forum - I do have to correct one point in salahmed's reply: AOKP SGT7 milestone 6 is 4.0.4 (ICS), not 4.1.2 (JB).
Purely to avoid confusion to anyone that reads this.

Hi All,
Sorry if this is not posted in the right section, i am unable to post in the correct section due to me being a new registered member, so i thought i'd ask here and maybe some of you can help and share some of you're knowledge.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000, I followed a guide posted on the XDA developers website (here is the link) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1852546
I ignored the INSTALLING JW4 section as i was already updated to GINGERBREAD 2.3.6 XXJW4.
I then followed the Installing Root section with success.
I then installed Cyanogenmod 9.0 on the install custom ROM section, but further down the section i was also told to install gapps....Could someone tell me what gapps is ? and what gapps does ?
Everything else went well and i am now running Cyanogenmod 9.0 on my Galaxy S.
I was wondering, i hear alot about jelly bean, ice cream, cyanogenmod, what are the differences ? or are these the same thing ?
now i have cyanogenmod installed on my phone, and i want to update to say Jelly Bean 4.2 how do i go about doing this ? do i need to follow the guide and root again or ?
also can someone explain flashing to me ?
Thanks in advance.

First of all...what is GAPPS?
Gapps is short for google apps...its has gmail, maps, play store, maybe youtube or an update to the camera app (not sure) but you get the idea...you don't have to install gapps but it's recommended...here is a link to gapps: GAPPS. Third link is what you should download...the one that says CyanogenMod 9.x.x
Second, Ice cream sandwich(ICS), Jelly Bean(JB):
These are android OS versions, you are now using cyanogenMod 9....this is using Android ICS(ice cream sandwich) this is android 4.0.3 or 4.0.4.
Here is a full list of Android OS versions.
Now you get the idea...
Third...what is CyanogenMod?
Simply put, CyanogenMod is a group of people who take the stock android OS and make some customizations, editing, tweaking, and theming...like others...but CyanogenMod(CM) are so great, that most other ROMs depend on CM (You'll see in the ROM page something like "Based on CM" or "Based on cyanogenMod 9").
Extra:
What is ClockWorkMod recovery? (CWM):
CWM is the most popular custom recovery that gives you more options than that of the stock recovery...most of the time, when you root your phone you flash a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP(Team Win Recovery Project) which give you the ability to flash custom ROMs and other flashable ZIP files...
This is a great guide and will help you greatly...
Have a nice day
I was wondering if anyone knew why Cyanogenmod wasn't putting out a 10.1 version for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab. There is 10 but not 10.1 which is Jelly Bean 4.2.2. They're releasing 10.1 for the samsung galaxy tab for other carriers just not Verizon.
There has always been CM10.1 built for p1c

There are 10.1 builds for the p1c, just not official ones from cyanogenmod. Their latest version is cm-10-20130512-nightly. The p1, p1l, and the p1n, all of which are samsung galaxy tabs all have cm 10.1 except for the model from verizon.
http://get.cm/?device=p1c
How official exactly you want it to be?

That's just 10 not 10.1. Although I enjoy Jelly Bean 4.1.2 I want Jelly Bean 4.2.2

You just need to look a little harder in this forum. If you go to the development page there are two unofficial builds of CM 10.1 for the p1c. I also have a verizon tab and I have been running cm 10.1 for several months. Go here for the latest build that I use. It adds a little more than straight 10.1 which I like but it's not quite AOKP. Plus your kernel will be on 3.0 instead of 2.6.
So next time check the development forum to find the builds.
Thanks I appreciate it, but I was just wondering if maybe cyanogenmod stated why they weren't going to release one for the verizon tab when they released ones for the other versions. I'm aware that unofficial mods existed for the p1c I was just more or less checking to see if someone ever heard why they weren't releasing an official version.

Because there's no dev for that device?
-----------------------------------
(҂`☐´)︻╦̵̵̿╤── .:System:.
-----------------------------------
I am pretty sure jt1134 was the original dev for the p1c and he discontinued development for it after cm 10 became stable enough. I think the reason why the p1c has not been added to the cm tree is because the official cm 10.1 builds work off the 3.0 linux kernel and it has only been about a week since humberto has created a working 3.0 kernel while the gsm variants have had it for at least a month or so. There are still problems with it but they're getting ironed out pretty quickly. Right now recovery does not work and you have to flash a 2.6 kernel through hiemdall to flash an updated build through recovery.
So pretty much what has happened is that the cdma dev dropped it and the gsm devs are picking it back up.
thanks, that sucks because I don't even use the cdma anymore. I only use my tablet through wifi. Thanks guys
