Anyone else receive text from OZMAIL? Verizon says it is a notification from an email app, but I have all notifications for yahoo, gmail and my work email disabled. It is very annoying and the rep said just to reply "stop" to the message.
I will say, that I didn't notice it until after installing the Dolphin Browser.
I was getting them. I got rid of my MSN acct and I no longer get them. Not sure where it came from. Just using my gmail acct now

I had this a long time ago. See this page for my solution.

Please let me know if it helps.
I just blocked the number

Yea I just blocked the number also since it's nothing.
How did you block the number? The only way I know to do that is through Verizon and I don't feel like paying an extra 5 bucks per month just for that.

Question, why is my messaging count, that comes up when you check data useage so high? I swear its much more then what I use in reguards to sms/mms. Do more things go into it?

I noticed the same thing. I did some testing a while back and after i had sent right around 100 it showed 180 something.
Could they be long messages that get split?

Don't received messages count towards that number as well?

Apps
Some apps that you sideload, from third party markets, can send text messages to the app creator that contain your user data, these messages dont show up in inbox/outbox or sms watchers because the are hidden with a "invisible cloak" this is what i read in an article about the saftey of android apps. I cannot recall where i read it
I dont use 3rd party markets or sideloading and I have very few apps.....

Has anyone left google voice for you mail?
What's you mail??

Never heard of it, but I am a big fan of Google Voice integration with Sprint so it would take a lot to get me to switch.

I've been using youmail forever. I didn't like how Google voice did my phone calls and texts. Youmail is the ****.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
I haven't used YouMail since I had a BlackBerry back in 2008. Haha.
Do they still charge for voicemail transcription? Because that would be the dealbreaker for me. Even if Google Voice does a poor job transcribing...it's free.

No.

You mail seems to be the pre cursor to voice, it works well but they do charge for transcriptions
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
Left for youmail months ago and haven't looked back. Voice integration with sprint was horrible (no mms killed it). Love you mail, but do miss the transcription.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
Sprint Integration is optional. When you first set up GV just press "skip" and use GV for voicemail only. If you already did the integration, goto google.com/voice and cancel the integration and start over

I have 2 quick questions about gvoice. When I recieve a voicemail and go to the phone app it is in the inbox and the voicemail folder as well is this correct?
also im getting voicemails that are unable to be transcribed also is this also to be expected ? Thanks
So I recently upgraded to the revo from the Droid Eris. I had rooted and gone through a few different roms. On the GSB ROM I used, the email app aloud me yo synch my accounts so I could delete from my phone and it would affect the account as well so I didn't have to do it twice. has anyone come across a better email program?

I personally use k9, and I have heard that Kaiten mail works really well too
BLITZ ledded adshot nitro supercharged Gingerlution
Stock gmail app in GV 1.3 does that....
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App
I'm not able to synch all messages or delete messages in my inbox on my exchange account. I haven't logged into my hotmail account in a while. I really just want to be able to use the stock app and not use the PC version. Is it possible to pull the app out of the Eris ROM and put it directly into the system files of gingervolt?

One thing that has always drove me nuts about this phone is google voice. On my captivate it was cake to setup. Install the app log in, and go through setup and your good. On my vivid however you get an error when trying to switch voicemail provider to google voice. There is a workaround and I did that, it forwards voicemails to google voice instead of the default AT&T number. However the app doesn't sync right, it never notifies me anymore. I think att purposely hosed it so we had to use there crappy paid visual voicemail service.

K I uninstalled it and reinstalled and went through setup again and its working fine now. We'll see if it lasts
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using XDA
I had similar issues at the beginning. It's working OK now.
So what's this work-around for the voicemail? I'd like to know.
Change all the voice mail forwarding numbers to your Google Voice number, and google voice should work as its supposed to

What was the work around? Is like to use GV as voicemail.
Sent from my HTC Vivid using XDA Premium
See my previous post. Pretty much if yours isn't notifying than uninstall it and reinstall. Then go through set up as usual. After it fails to change your settings, go in and change your forwarding numbers from atts voice mail number to your Google voice number and should work.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda app-developers app
So does the call then forward to GV as a call, or does it forward to GV as just the voicemail? I'm still hazy on the subject. I've already changed my forwarding numbers.
Sent from my HTC Vivid using XDA Premium
Just make sure always forward is disabled
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda app-developers app
Thank you, I got it fixed.

Except the AT&T VVM is free for people with LTE plans, so....
I wasn't aware either way it's rubbish bloatware, and I'd rather use my Google voice.

I am wondering if anyone is having issues with any FB apps while running BO. Up until yesterday when I rooted my phone again I was using Friendcaster but now I can't access it via the app or even through my browser/dolphin. Is anyone having similar issues? The FB for Android app sucks since their updates so I don't use that one anymore.

Here is one that involves wifi.
I still can't connect on wifi with any fb type app
Fb is hit or miss for me.

I've come to the conclusion that FB only works on a 4g connection. It isn't a connection speed issue since wifi doesn't work. A poster in another thread says it also works when they're down to a 1x connection.
I found that if I am really close to my router then I could get on Facebook. Otherwise I have to go to 3g. it's pretty weird.
