Yes I have a stylus and it works great on mine.
As far as notes, Evernote is hard to beat. I use it every day for work and have over 40 notes stored. I can get to them from the office, home, my gtab or my phone. Give it a try. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evernote&hl=en
To answer the original thread, yes there is a pen memo. The keyboard is smaller so just laid out slightly different. To find it, open memo, start a new memo and act like you're going to type something to bring up the keyboard. Then hit the 123 button to activate the numeric and symbol keyboard and in the lower right you will see the capital T with the pen on it. HIt that, and you go into pen memo (handwriting) mode.
FUnny how the subject changed and no one answered the original ?

You're talking about "T Memo" on the p3113? Version 1.0? With the Samsung keyboard? I don't have the "T" to bring up handwriting mode. I'm running a custom ROM so I may not have the stock/current version of the app.
Try note everything, catch, evernote or handrite free from google play
Or try ported supernote app from asus work in our tab

Anyone come across any fixes for the fact that (a) there is no LED indicator telling you that you have a message; and (b) there is no pointer/curser/trackball?
I tried NOLED app from the market, but thought it was useless.
NOLED is probably the only "fix" you are going to find for notifications. Android is a touch screen OS, why on earth would you need a pointer?
The trackball on the N1, for instance, is super helpful when typing.

ON topic, mate a lot of keyboard apps for android include a d-pad option which will let you accurately simulate a cursor/trackball.
No LED notifications is a bummer. Strange how people with iphones are not annoyed by that! Something like sms popup can be set to periodically vibrate to remind you etc. No real solution there Im afraid!
There was some dev work on getting the backlight touch buttons to blink but work seems to have hit a dead end.

Heh, its the ideal solution, except theres not really a solution at the moment. Drivers have now been made public (or so Im led to believe). so Im hoping to see it come along side Cyanogen Mod.
Theres an online petiotion that can be signed regarding some dev work for this. At the moment, theres like 350+ signatories....now if everyone chipped in $5 ......
for the D-pad just slide from the "S" sybmbol in the lowwer left of the keyboard to the "sym" key directly next to it (using swype, not the samsung keyboard). a directional pad pops up and it has backspace, backspace by full word, delete, cut, copy, paste, select all, page up, page down, home and end, and a "tab" key, though i don't know if it works like tab of if it is just a large space for starting paragraphs.
samsungs keyboard also has something similar if you hold the key to the numbers/symbols for three seconds.

Wow. Thanks! Dolphin HD, LiveJournal, and text entry don't get along so well for some reason; it never puts the cursor where I tap when I want to go back and edit text. So I'm extremely happy to hear there are arrows on the Swype keyboard! The trackpad and GPS were the only two things I was still missing from my Aria, and you just remedied the former.
Though now I feel silly for not figuring it out myself!
Too be honest I only knew about it from a review I read but they didn't explain how to do it, after a few days of messing with it I found it in the swype tutorials

Yep it's a great keyboard, I've been using it since day two. The right spacebar I have to make sure I press harder to get it to register otherwise its great with great support. They seem to update it often.
Will check it out.
It works great with the gtab the free version not so much but the pay version has a tablet layout that its awesome.

How did you get it to replace the stock kb?
In settings it won't check off after the warning box...??
I rebooted but the same results.
what rom are you running?
Runing 1.1 3389 the latest stock update.
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks
i believe you have to be running a custom rom to change keyboards on it. but do not hold me to that statement

You can do it in TnT but it takes a couple tricks. The TnT settings app won't let you enable the keyboard so you need to switch to the stock Android style settings app. Then enable the keyboard. Once done you need to put back your stock TnT settings app or you will have problems with other things.

In a text box long press. It will popup with input method. Then you should see it.
Be sure to activate it in Settings/Language & Keyboard/ by checking it. i had to do this before changing it in the input method.

As long as you have the Tablet PC it could work.
The vice versa can also be truth - used to have HP TX2650 tablet, all I've got left now is the pen, which works perfectly on the note
Not possible without hardware modification to your computer monitor.
PRemoteDroid on the market, lets you connect your note to the PC via wifi.
it lets me use my galaxy note as a drawing tablet for the PC. its not the most accurate thing to use though, but its better than nothing.

You both misunderstand what the OP is asking for. He isn't asking to use the S-Pen to draw on a PC monitor, no, he is asking to use the Note as a digitizer tablet.
Using the Note as a digitizer tablet for a PC is certainly possible, but it requires quite a lot of work because one must code a complete virtual digitizer driver. Transferring data between the phone and the virtual driver is the simple part.
That said I think you'd be better off just buying a cheap digitizer tablet somewhere, the Note is too small to use comfortably like that.

I actually couldn't get it to work. There is no black screen on my computer when I run the client. Running the client on the computer just opens up a small window which detects the finger and shows the output in some numbers. When I write on the Note, I see the writing, but it closes the app in a couple of seconds. I have windows 7.
The app looks very promising.

about black screen on PC , its just some drawing application with black background. this small app on PC just forces cursor to move. and when you use stylus, it imitates mouse press. just open mspaint and try it.

Hey dzjosjusuns! Any update on that? Would you consider making a Linux version of the server?
This is a really cool and useful feature
But unfortunately it's not working for me, i just tried to install it on my n7000
After i copied the apk file over to my phone, i tried to open it and got the 'Parsing Error: There is a problem parsing the package"
Do you think this might have something to do with it not being compatible with Gingerbread 2.3.6?
Sorry if it sounds like a bit of a dumb question but I'm a noob to all of this
I found this AOSP version which works EXACTLY like the installed Google Keyboard only it has those two items activated. I did not make any modifications to this, I found this on XDA here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590902
I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Swiftkey has something similar but the way that program handles next word prediction over previous word correction drives me nuts. Google keyboard has recently removed the punctuation long press option which also drove me nuts.
This keyboard works perfectly on my 6P. I love having the dedicated number row, punctuation and not having the keyboard be a jacked up size like the PC option.
The one issue I had was if I went into settings for the keyboard one of the options in there force closed until I selected the keyboard as active and rebooted. Then I was able to access that settings option without force close. YMMV.
No issues other than that. I just wanted to spread the word. File attached, you can also grab it from the link above. Zip is flashable.
FYI...... @Shaftamle has had a themed Google keyboard thread for a long time and has many different keyboards just like this. I personally use the transparent one because I'm a fan of that style. Just in case you'd like other options
