[Q][i9001] Car's bluetooth - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

the car I usually drive supports Bluetooth connections for handsfree purposes... is it possible to play music through that? (When I get a phone call it usually reproduces my ringtone)

Multiple audio devices with bluetooth

Hi,
I am looking at getting a new car radio (JVC KD-AVX33) which has bluetooth and an option for using the bluetooth input for satellite navigation audio. (I assume that when it receives audio over the bluetooth it will switch the audio over from what ever I was listening to, to the sat nav voice and then back again when finished)
Is it possible with the bluetooth on these phones for pair the phone to the radio for the Sat Nav instructions, and also a headset for phone calls?
The A2DP and headset/handsfree profile can connect together and independently. It should work without any problem.

Toyota Avalon (or other Toyotas) and Built-In Bluetooth...how to stream audio?

So, I have a new Toyota Avalon with built-in bluetooth. Was wondering if anyone knew of hacks, tricks, tweaks - software or hardware - to permit a2dp to show up when connected through bluetooth. It says HANDSFREE but doesn't show WIRELESS STEREO on my ATT TILT (stock rom).
Anyway to do this?
Also, for anyone with a Toyota and bluetooth, is there any way to get Microsoft Voice Command activated from the steering wheel? On all my external car bluetooth speakers, hitting the call button activates Voice Command. Doesn't do it with the built-in Toyota system...unless I am overlooking something.
BUMP....
Is there someone on the forum with a Toyota and bluetooth?
I am bummed about this...the only way I can stream or play audio is use the AUX jack which is fine EXCEPT it means that the phone cannot be used via the built-in blue tooth...the other party can be heard by the car microphones don't pick up my voice (presumably because the AUX connector somehow hijacks it???!!)
Any help would be appreciated.

That's what would happen if the car's BT did not support A2DP. My guess would be that your car only supports handsfree.
I'm in the same boat. I have an '07 Sienna and I have been looking for a way to connect AD2P bluetooth. So far, I'm having no luck.
I've thought about mounting my i.tech clip inside the dash to the Aux input. That means I'd have to modify the i.tech to work when power is connected. I would also have figure out a way to use the Aux port directly (with another device) if I wish. It is always something...
The '09 Toyota's support the AD2P.
works for me
so, I am in a '10 toyota. When I get into the car, it will pair up as handsfree, but does not show AD2P initially. For me at least, if I go to the BT tab on the audio screen, and press and hold the play button, it will start playing from the last playlist I was using. The steering wheel seek up seek down work to skip forward and back.
The first time I needed to initiate some music playing on the phone, and then tell the car to connect bluetooth through the BT tab on the audio menu, I think it hides the AD2P unless the phone requests it, and treats it separately from the handsfree connection.
I wish you luck- for short trips, it is great to be able to just sit down in the car, and have the radio play my mp3s without having to muck with my phone or cables.

music over bluetooth on a car station only with handfree mode ?

dears,
i have a new car with integrated audio car and bluetooth function. fortunatly the audio car only permit me to make phone calls but no possible to hear music from my diamond over bluetooth. Do you believe there is some way to hear music to stream over the hand free like if i am receiving a phone calls ?
best regards
steph
It depends on the type of bluetooth profile that the car uses.
To use it for music, it would need to be A2DP.
With your bluetooth on, try going to the settings screen in touch flo and click Menu > Bluetooth Devices.
Click and hold on the device in the list that is your car. If you have the option to "Set as Wireless Stereo", the car has the A2DP profile. If not, you're SOL.

Bluetooth and Navigation

Anyone having trouble getting the navigation to play through your car speakers? I have it (maps) un muted and still won't work. My music and assist works fine.
Since my car's stereo doesn't support A2DP, I use a Blackberry Bluetooth Stereo Gateway connected to the Aux. The X connects to the BB Stereo gateway via A2DP, and all audio, including ring tones, google maps, etc, are heard when my stereo is on Aux.
Thanfully my car does connect via Bluetooth Headset/Handsfree so when the phone rings, the stereo makes noise and shows the incoming call on its nav screen.

[Q] Listening to navigation voice from external loudspeaker while connected in BT

For ages I have been trying to be able to listen to navigation voice from external loudspeaker while my phone is connected to my car's BT, with no avail.
The scenarios in a car are two:
1. Phone connected to car's BT, car's stereo on BT AUDIO, phone playing music thru BT on car's speakers, navigator on and voice playing thru BT on car's speakers >>>> OK NO PROBLEM
2.Phone connected to car's BT, car's stereo on FM RADIO, phone NOT playing music, navigator on and voice.... >>> HERE'S THE PROBLEM: I CANNOT HEAR THE NAVIGATION VOICE, neither thru BT on car's speaker nor from phone's external loudspeaker
I have tried for ages to solve problem 2 with no avail...
Yesterday I had to totally reset the phone, back to stock, I connect it to my car's BT, turn on FM RADIO and start navigation and... VOILA' radio is playing and navigation voice is coming out from phone's external loudspeaker. BUT.... THIS MORNING TRIED THE SAME and nothing: no voice...
Anyone can help?
