Is there a way to make the capacitive touch buttons auto dim with the display controlled by the light sensor?
Good question... never thought of that..
So far for what I know there's none such app. but I think its just a matter of an app that can read the light sensor and adjust touch light accordingly. And it has to be o2x specific app.

They are good.. but what I'm asking is that it will automatically dim with the light sensor.. For example.. during the day it will be turned off and by night it will turn on automatically by the light sensor.
You dont need to download any thing frm the market.....this function is already there....just dial 1809#*990# and select device test>touch led brightness(last option in the list)
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA

In the dark, the Xperia keyboard looks awesome. But in the light, the keys are hard to see. I have to tilt the device at different angles to read the keycaps. The keys are silver and the backlight makes them disappear in ambient light. Anyone have a hint, like shutting off key backlight when the light sensor registers light? Would be a great idea if they could do it - we only need the backlight for the keyboard when it's nearly dark.
Just go to settings, system, power, backlight and tick auto adjust. This is what i use anyway and it means that the keyboard hardly ever lights up in the day but looks great at night.
Thanks, this makes the keyboard better.
But the screen is now a bit less ambient than I prefer.
Is there no way of killing of that backlight permanently?
Me too...
I´m very interested in a solution too because I´m having the same experiences ! (silverkeys / when lit up hard to see)
I'd like to turn off the backlight of cursor keys. I mean completely. Now they light up if I click the cursor key. Any idea ?
Almost a year passed with no solution!!!
Xda developers come on!!
This works for me
The app ToggleAuto is the best solution I´ve found. It simply turns autobacklight on and of. works for me.
Put a shortcut on your todayscreen for easy access.

a user "why?" from 4pda.ru gave such advice:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SonyEricsson\Illumination]
"QWERTYBRIGHTNESS"="50" . I have not finded this key and havn't ideas how it can be created. If your attempt will be successfull -- pls, post here. P.S. It must to make keyboard backlight adequate, it will not turn off backlight.

I'm not sure what conditions have to be met to have these lights come on, but are there settings for them?

I'm a Sprint Product Ambassador supporting the launch of the One and am checking on this. So far, it appears to be automatic via the light sensor so as you move to a dark area the backlight will be activated. Will confirm and report back.

There still shouldnt be multiple threads about the same topic.
There were some posts over in the international forum that might help.
There's an app called Capacitive Buttons Brightness in the Play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.sleepydragon.capbutnbrightness). I've never used it, but it's supposed to allow you to control brightness, and it works with the One as all.
Also, a thread popped up about modifying some /system files to allow capacitive buttons to be lit all the time or never lit. You can follow it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232150

Just an edit, it was modifying some "/" files...but since they're recreated on boot from the boot.img, I has to be an init.d script

I just know that this feature needs a kernel modification, so you can use it only with patched kernels, not stock
hello
iam looking for application turn on the screen by remapping the hard capacitive keys. not the sound rocker or the power buttons.
any idea please?
i tried most of applications and xposed modules but not work, also all the application using the sensor, turn on the screen by swapping only which make the screen on all the time whenever the sensor moved front of any thing.
also application with turn on by taping the sensor is ok for me.
could you suggest guys?
thanks in advance for all

you need a custom kernel for that to work, check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/#kernels
Please only flash things appropriate for your phone and ROM.
