(moderator, sorry for starting a new thead. But this is important to get others' attention)
This is an extract from an LG expert at lg forum ( regarding thrill 4g ghost call issue)
"...Optimus 3D is an international phone, so I would not be reading XDA threads pertaining to that phone...USA phones keep me plenty busy. ;-) We collect information from many different sources about our phones, but honestly if you want help from LG the conversation needs to take place here in LGForum.com and not in a 3rd party website dedicated to rooting and custom ROMs unless you are running a custom ROM, then please keep the conversation going at XDA because we cannot help in that case. ProductPro and I are re-reading all of the threads to collect as much info as we can. So any trends or common triggers or anything like that greatly helps with issues like this. So far the amount of information posted is extremely vague and doesn't give us much to go on. If everyone believes it's truly random then that iswhat we'll report to the engineers, but we need to do a certain amount of due diligence before we submit to engineering. Any help to try to explain when, how, where these ghost calls occur is greatly appreciated. Thanks! "
So you guys can see what LG is upto. They haven't received enough complaints about this issue.
We all need your support. Just don't wait till others do the job.
Its will take only 2-3 minutes. What you have to do is go to the forum and sign in using facebook account or use the lg username password
http://support.lgforum.com/lg
Under common problems select "Ghost call issue is not resolved with resetting or any other simple methods. So help us..:-( " topic and add your experience with ghost call issue.
At least click "me too" button to show that you also have the issue.!
*dont mention anything about rooting or custom roms..!

That's funny because I'm the one that posted for him to come check this forum. I encourage every one as well to log on to that forum and complain. It may get their attention. For the record, I would just say you own a thrill (unless you do it in the optimus 3d section).
I have added my complaint and also complained to ATT. ATT refuses to do anything for me except offer me a refub Thrill.

GOOD NEWS..! We are getting a good attention thanks to you guys who posted comments on the lg support web site and they have admitted that the ghost call issue is there..! And more importantly they are using the above mentioned thead as a survey and to get information about the issue.
*Any ideas posted with "rooting , custom roms" will be a negative..! So make sure you post right comments.

I just posted on the LG forum (even that's cumbersome to use...they need some new software developers...).
I think it's important to convey the frustration, but also focus on the specifics of the problem. Ranting and raving about how crappy LG is won't get us anywhere. Explaining what the problem is, when it's better, when it's worse, and as much technical details as you're capable of gathering are what will help engineering the most.

v21e rom is here

i can guarantee that v21e doesn't have ghost call issue or ghost sms
good luck..!
This is for the optimus 3D (hence the LGP920 in the url). does the THRILL (LGP925) on the AT&T network have any downsides to flashing this?

You may not have 4g i am using 21e but can't test 4g as at&t drags feet and we don't even have 3g in my area maybe we should start a thread on at&t website pushing 3 &4g to less densely populated areas so they can keep up with the competition as at&t is the only company that has no 3g and now 4g other than that the at&t crap ware isn't there but that is a plus

No. mine is also thrill 4g. I flashed it and nothing went wrong as it flashes a original baseband.
same hardware. Only the antenna part is different. Still it doesn't affect.
1800 2100 frequencies are present in optimus 3d version. No effect at all

currently I'm outside USA. still I experience 21mbps download speeds. You should get so called 4g speeds (21mbps) with at&t also as optimus 3d uses all the frequencies used with at&t plus some more..!

So I was able to get V21E up and running on my Thrill, however I now cannot receive MMS messages. All I get is a download button, which when pressed tells me that the download is not available at this time. Any suggestions?
I should add that I'm not rooted...simply running LG's stock V21E rom on my Thrill in an effort to fix this annoying ghost call issue.

So even though Dark Lestat had a very detailed and thorough walk through on how to flash a different rom, I stopped at the part where he talks about rooting and therefore completely missed the step to setup APN's. *face palm*
I got it figured out over the weekend and have been fully functional for the past several days. I'm happy to report there have been no real issues so far including Ghost Call. It seems reception at work and battery life have improved as well. I no longer want to smash my phone into little pieces.
Thanks for the advice on switching to V21E!

Ghost call not fixed with 21e
Hello, i ugraded my thrill to 21e and glad to have all at&t app disappear but the ghost call issues not fixed yet!!! I found a software 'GETril' which change your phone baseband but for me it says 'system partition not writable' which does not allow me to continue. I'm rooted and do not know how to make system partition writable.

Really wouldn't be an accurate comparison. Supposedly the Optimus is coming to the USA with 4G(crosses fingers) support. Tmobiles 4G netowork is much faster then ATTs.
ATTs 4G network is not even up and running yet and won't be until sometime next month according to them. So that's why you saw those horrible speeds posted by engadget.
Hello everyone, new on this forum. wanted to say hello.
I own an LG O2X and suffer from almost all of the problems the rest of you mentioned.
I've been following the threads for some time now. Hope LG fixes this phone soon because as for now everyone I show the new phone to doesn't understand "what's so good about it?" LOL
i'm a happy one
have had O2X for a week now, and am pretty happy with it. but it is my first android, and i'm running MCR/Fear edition.
the only thing that i am missing is wi-fi calling (uma), which is only stock-installed in G2X.

Why can't you use skype instead? Or is it not the same?
Ive had mine for about a month now and cant fault it in anyway, compaired it against my old desire and friends iphones and it's on top without a doubt.
Gingerbread will be rolling out in the next couple of weeks i would of thought which will make it even better ;-)
I have it since yesterday and no problems so far, its lightning fast but I like the looks of my arc more. Still in doubt which one will be my daily phone, I like them both.

I didn't look into Skype, because my wife (with regular cell phone) can't reach me on Skype (free account), unless they provide free incoming call number.
I prefer (1) UMA/GAN, (2) Google voice/Talkatone-like app on android, and (3) other SIP, but that's just me. Beside, I think any T-Mobile user should be able to use UMA/GAN via app.
I have a feeling that eventually telephone/cell-phone will migrate to IP based protocol, and service providers will become merely data provider. The question is when and if they will be willing to. I'm sure there will be issues and reluctance. I read somewhere and Verizon is looking into voice over IP (or a name similar to that), to enable "talk and surf at the same time" like GSM can. Now I'm babbling.... Anyhow, CM7 might have already included UMA/GAN. I just need to test it when I have a chance.

I have successfully rooted my phone and I have been successfully trying out some of the ROM's found here on xda. One thing I've noticed though is that every time I boot into any rom, I'm always stuck in roaming and I can't seem to get out.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm running LG Optimus 2X P990HN on FIDO network.

Weird. Roaming is supposed to be a network setting and is not made automagically by the rom. Are there chances you enabled it before the flash?

I tried the newest baseband i could find to no avail. i tried punching in all my apn settings manually, nothing. I was able to connect and register on FIDO umts and gsm networks but it still said I was in roaming.
I was doing a bit of googling earlier and some ppl were saying that it's got something to do with many of the roms are running gingerbread and that the p990hn has no love for gingerbread atm. I just kinda skimmed but that's what I got from it.
I'm going to see try a froyo rom for the 2x and see if I encounter the same issue.

"Of course you wont be charged more.
Just an FYI, you are ON the Fido network even if it says Rogers or roaming on rogers. When you roam outside of the Fido/Rogers network, on something like AT&T or T-Mobile, then you are roaming on a different network, not only that, you get a text message to remind you that you are on a foreign network. Hope this helps."
That was quoted from the fido forums.. so apparently its already on fido but because the coding is not right and no official gingerbread support its considered roaming but wont be charged extra money.. I wont be able to know until next month and even still its a risk.

"APN: internet.fido.ca

After calling Fido, it seems that using National Datat Roaming on the Rogers network is allowed, and there is no extra billing since it's what the Nexus has to do as well. Cool. I guess someone can close this if they want."

/agree again, with any luck we'll see a gingerbread update in the incredibly near future and this problem will cease to exist.
I got my new updated firmware that came out with 4.3 flashed on my sprint htc one flashed to straight talk verizon s-off with moonshine. What are the improvements that I"am supposed to see ????
I have had problems with all 4.3 roms and I have tried them all, my call signal most times shows zero bars when its full signal, sometimes it will go full bars but always goes back to none fast and the phone is never moved.
I thought flashing the 4.3 firmware would fix this issue but it did not.
Another thing is I use it on a verizon samsung network extender at home which its the old model the first model they came out with that was call signal only no 3g data were the newer model has 3g, but I notice it does this when I"am not home sometimes also but I have not really watched it while running errands in a good while. When I"am on the network extender when I call out or on a call received my phone will show full bars the whole time.
I think its working ok, but the no bars on my phone is annoying I mean I might as well not even have bars on my phone at all if they are not going to be accurate.
Anyone have any ideas ?

Not convinced you actually know what you're talking about. For one, the firmware version is not 4.3-- that's the ROM software version, which is very distinct from the radio version that came with the 4.3 OTA. 4.3 changed how cell signal is displayed to match the available/in-use data connection as opposed to the 1xRTT voice/text connection. Besides that, if you're using the Sprint HTC One on Verizon, you're not going to get particularly good speeds even with 3G.
If you don't like the behavior, there's probably an XPOSED module or a downgrade to 4.1 to fix that.
I dont know where your getting your info, but there are firmware downloads for people that are rooted and do not receive htc / sprint ota updates for 4.3.
Check out the following and see for yourself...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46123838
Then see either full firmware or Full Firmware w/o hboot, boot, recovery (for s-off users (thx bigdaddy619 for testing!!!)
The phone is capable of running verizon 3g just as well as sprint 3g.
Unless you have a sprint htc one on straight talk verizon like I do then you have no idea of how verizon 3g data works on a sprint htc one and you are providing an uneducated guess, which straight talk verizon 3g data speeds are not any part of this posting.
Perhaps could it be you either work for verizon or sprint and just hope to deter people from flashing their sprint htc one or any other smartphone to straight talk verizon ????
If verizon was not so much of blood sucking company trying to squeeze every penny they can from their post paid subscribers and would compete with sprint and t mobile and even more on the prepaid side where sprint mvno's get lte and t mobile prepaids get lte and even at&t prepaids get lte even straight talk at&t gets lte, but verizon will not compete and allow lte, this will all be verizons undoing, because with sprints infusion of cash from softbank they will be building lte very quickly and when sprint merges with t mobile in the near future then verizon will be strong armed to either compete or be left behind and they will be put down like a dead horse and many people like myself will love to see the day that their greediness and cockiness comes back to haunt them and they will then pay for their arrogance...

You may want to read a little. 4.3 is not the firmware version, but the ROM version. The current firmware is a 1.x release, even still.

The entirety of your complaint is you complaining about "bars" and real signal strength/speeds. The actual data behind the bars are related to both, but you don't seem to have any idea what the bars are. They represent the strength of your data radio if you're connected to data, 1XRTT if you're on a voice call.

That's pretty ironic, all things considered. I've provided some of the information you were looking for (how and why signal bars may be showing as lower than before with the new firmware), but instead you've posted even more links proving you don't know what you're talking about. Neither the touch control or radio firmware version numbers are even near 4.3. Feel free to keep digging your own hole, though.

Your link proves that you don't know how to actually post links on this forum; besides that, you ignore the posts OMJ's made in the radio threads discussing what kinds of firmware are available-- and yes, those are hboot, radio, and touch. Nice try though.
As I explained jack*** its the new firmware that came with the 4.3, you work so hard to be as much of a jack*** as you possibly can be. The links show the downloads for the new firmware. Try not being such an a** you act like your such a know it all, well you can get off the high horse you think your riding and you know what you can do with your attitude, where you can put it...
You've given it a valiant effort Rirere, bravo to you sir.
Mods should probably scrap this now since the op has decided to instigate a flamewar instead of reading the threads he is linking to as "support" for his statements.

This post was not to ask your personal opinions on anything. The guy just set out to set himself as knowing everything and he does not. He could have easily read in to it and taken the high road but instead he chose to try to put down what I was asking. I dont need anyone trying to be high and mighty thinking they are better. He started things he had no right to post to begin with because he never had an intension on helping, only to try to put me down and act like he is a know it all...

I feel like a language barrier is making this worse than it ought to be..
He very clearly explained himself in his first reply to you. It might have started out a bit condescending but he promptly explained why he felt that way.
Your replies to him hint that you don't understand what he has been explaining. Try asking people to elaborate instead of name calling, it helps makes xda a nicer place to visit.

I never said anywhere on here that I dont have good signal I said that my phone just shows that I don't but in all actuality I have full signal strength the phone just does not show it unless there is a call in progress.
Anyone please do not post on this unless you can do so without an attitude and if your post is not about this subject then you should not be posting on this.

OK, here is me still being on topic.
Read his first reply again. He is correct. The signal bars you see do not represent the same thing they used to. If you don't understand what he meant, ask for more information.
If you are on a custom rom, try posting in that rom's thread, especially if signal is not displaying at all.
Hell, just post in that thread anyway since you obviously don't believe the information you've been provided here!
Based on what info you've given, I don't know how much more you'll get from anyone though...

I know for a fact that the problem is software related I dont need anyone to tell me that.
His comments were off topic, he was trying to tell me that there is no firmware update that came out for 4.3 which is wrong. Excuse me for calling it 4.3 firmware when it has its own number I dont need anyone acting like that trying to tell me things that I know are true.
I did post on elegancia rom but they the main guys run the gsm version of htc one and do not do anything on the sprint side some other guys do so the sprint support is not as kept up as the gsm stuff is.
I was only trying to figure out what problems were fixed in the new firmware if there were and fixes in call signal accuracy or anything like that.
I just dont need anyone acting like they know everything trying to tell me I"am wrong.
Almost every 4.3 custom rom for the htc one says they recommend that you upgrade your firmware which that guy was trying to tell me there is no firmware upgrade for 4.3 which there is and I posted the links for it. I dont need anyone trying to tell me something that I"am wrong when I"am not and I proved it.

You are asking us on the sprint HTC one forums about fixes for a rom built for gsm HTC one?
I have no idea how to answer you, try this:

Its not for just gsm, its gsm and sprint, you didnt read what I posted clearly. I said the main guys use gsm they have sprint guys that help out on the sprint support so the sprint support is not as quick to update as they have to contact the sprint guys on the sprint issues. The rom is for gsm and sprint.
Anyone else having issues with a weak wifi reception..... for some reason over the last weak or so my wifi reception has reduced by at least 20% have no idea why.... have done factory reset with no avail

I checked and Gomdolight is for Korean version (f340 I think), are you sure you can?
(in the thread of Gomdolight, 1 guy was successfully installed, but he said nothing different, hhope he did not mean about wifi)
Could you report your try here?
Thanks in advance
Yes, I did as well and came to the same conclusion as the Dev did regarding the post stating no real changes noticeable. I plan to pm that member later on to see if he has any more feedback/advice before I commit. From what I gather the more modded features involve Korean based apps and such so for a D950 user not to notice is not surprise. I should know more tomorrow evening weather or not it is effective or not. Would do it sooner but I need to stay connected today so..... I'll keep you posted.
For me, the wifi strength is important. The rom itself does not matter.
Anyway, waiting for your post
==== edit =====
I had some time to check Gomdolight. Actually it is not a ROM, but a Modifier (remove system apps)
I don't think they change something for wifi-driver, which I believe is the problem for the weak wifi.
but just let me know how it is improved with your Gflex
thanks

Hey,my apologies to all who were waiting on the results of my attempted flash of the Gomdolite firmware mod. I'm sorry to report that although it installed successfully( albiet in a limited capacity due to variant and build discrepancies), it did not resolve my wifi woes.I will continue running Gomdolite despite that fact. Off topic and my apologies in advance, but it has improved my devices overall speed and fluidity. Hope someone has a solution soon...Btw, since my D950 doesn't have to function as my primary phone as of yesterday, (returned to Samsung, Note4) I am willing to Guinea pig for the common good of finding a resolution to our issues.Let me know if you got anything to test.
