Galaxy S3 ROM for i9000?? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

We have TWIC for i9000 Which looks almost like the galaxy s2.
Will there be any other ROM similar to the Galaxy S3??
Please developers make a Rom similar to the S3

You can buy a bunch of GS3 and donate them to the developers so they can port everything to our GS1.
FACEPALM for the thread

there are lots of lovely roms for i9000. they will do, if possible.

I'm sure it won't be long, the Dec community is exceptional four sgs1

Wait... That's just a SGS2 rom with an SGS3 build.prop, the real SGS3 rom is 800mb this one is only 300mb

I would also LOVE a galaxy s3 themed ROM. My sister has the s3 mini and I really liked the look of it (all of the icons, etc). Come on devs, we know you can work your magic and make it happen! Let's have an s3 themed ROM!

There are S3 Themed Roms here in Android development

Yes, there is 1 or 2 ROM's on here that slightly resemble samsungs stock JB ROM. But I am looking for something that is as close to the real thing (stock samsung JB ROM) as possible. Surely a dev can take all of the files etc from a S3 running a stock samsung JB ROM and tweak them a little so they will be compatable with our I9000's?

The two or three S3 based ROM's I have tried haven't really been anything like a stock samsung S3 ROM. If it's possible, could a dev PLEASE create a ROM that is EXACTLY like the stock samsung S3 ROM!? (the exact same look and UI etc) I would be more than happy to donate to any dev willing to create such a ROM.
---------- Post added at 12:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 AM ----------
I guess I'm just gonna have to buy an S3 , because it looks like it's either impossible to create a ROM that is almost identical to a stock S3 JB ROM, or devs and fellow XDA members don't share the same appreciation for stock samsung JB ROM's as myself.

Waiting....

Look at the C-rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925195

Well only as theme, you cant actually port it i would say. The SGS doe not have enough RAM and CPU power!

The closest you can get is using whatever mods and themes are available to us. We'me got the launcher, the mms app themed to look like S3, dialer can be modded, S-Voice, there's an S3 toggle mod on 4.1.2, same with a lockscreen (kind of). As well as all the Touchwiz apps and the media, and obviously theming the system to make it look like the S3. You could also mod the gallery as well.
I'd be glad to see this happen though. I've always been jealous of the 4.1 Touchwiz...

I like galaxy. After flashing HTC galaxysense port anyone can see how htc sense is beautiful and samsung roms are not. You have to see galaxysense so you will understand what i talk about.
I have htc device. and one is dissapointed me it have overheating issue.
And another is goof
I have htc device and i didnt like htc sense because it eat a lot of ram and make the system transition not smooth like tw ..
Always use rom with no htc sense..
And one more HTC sensation have 768mb ram but cos of HTC sense 3.0 it just available <120mb of RAM after first booting
i flashed galaxysense. but it still has some bugs and also sense rom is only good in looks compared to stock sgs roms. currently i am on miui and i think its better than sense roms...
I like GalaxySense a lot, I'm just waiting for bluetooth and camera to make it my daily rom
And there are LOTS of themes...

It's not a regular rom, it's mod like MIUI build on CM7 and CM9, it would be awesom to have it.
not seen it for the I9000, but it is indeed nice looking... could try contacting the dev i guess.

As much as I love CM9 and AOKP from my Captivate days, at this moment in time, I cannot recommend them over "regular" ICS Roms.
Performance from my most recent test is still behind ICS not to mention missing features like MHL.
I currently prefer this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365587
As soon as CM9/AOKP gets there, then I am of course moving to those as I expect them to be just as good as they were on my Captivate

Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I prefer the paranoid android rom. It's the best thing that I have ever run on my note.
if you like the stock Gingerbread launcher then stock ICS for the note is great for you.
ofcoarse you can put different launchers i had Apex on the UK ICS release and it was very awsome but.. not as smooth as how Apex runs on CM9
And if you use the SPen functionality which i really..as hard as i want i cant really see my self in using theres an app that functions very much the same as SMemo..
is just called memo just check the Themes and Apps section.
it is pen sensitive is amazing..as good as the SMemo so really..no more missing that extra 1% functionality
also another reason why cm9 is that much better is that...
4.0.4 as oppose to Samsungs 4.0.3
i cant recommend enough..
but make sure if you're coming to either one stock or custom i recommend
for stock UK ICS
and custom CM9
make sure to follow the instructions for installing CM9 ..as you need to revert to a rootable GB rom (2.3.5) and root from there and install CM9 from there..
so read read and..after that read more the install instructions
OP, I don't think you've given us a shred of info about what would make a good ROM for you.

I was on almost-stock GB for a long time and never really used S Memo.
For me, the S-Pen is a great tool for illustration, but to take quick notes I still much prefer to type everything instead.
As such, CM9 and any of its derivatives for me (currently Paranoid Android).
Have to agree, tried all kinds of roms gb and ics, stock to modded, but the best thing I have come across is paranoid android.

Paranoid Android will always top the chart for me
I love the smoothness in Tablet mode! While accessing Citrix from Tablet mode, everything seems to be in place and perfect zoom! Whilst on phone mode I struggle to read my applications..
+1 for Paranoid Android!
I'm currently running KingDroid. This has the new Touchwiz 5.0/SIII look, which in my opinion is much better looking than the old.
The KingDroid also got all of the S Memo/ S Planner apps.

Omega rom for n7000, possible port?

So I have seen in my cell a few friends, GN2 and S3, the Omega ROM and it really is very good, but anyway ...
wanted to know if the developer could not bear this ROM to our N7000
It's a great need, we have several good ROMs but sin in many battery
Anyway, if you can be a great pleasure and be a success!
Hug!
+1
Why not asking the original dev?
Omega is also just based on note 2 and s3 stock roms with some mods and tweaks...so what you wanna get ported?
You can port it, but it'd be a lot easier to port whatever features you want to an XXLSC ROM.

Ok...But...Why?
The Hardware platform is the same with note 2, except the CPU (same model, quad-core capability) and the micro-sd capacity.
I agree that there could be some minor differences in the platform in order to support quad-core capability, but this should not held us back.
Just like Windows...they work with all kinds of prosessors. You just need different motherboard.
And -in this case- the motherboard is present. :good:

You are using the wrong word: "us".
If you are interested to try a Custom Rom that wasn't made for the N7000, try it.
But I repeat what eybee said before: Omega is a modded/tweaked stock Rom. Nothing special. So search for a good Custom Rom here where you can be sure that it works on a N7000.

I don't think that a rom that has so much positive 5-star ratings throughout the whole community is something typical.
"Nothing special" is your opinion only.
Let me remind you that N7000 has an ICS rom on board, by default.
So, if you think more closely you will see that even a "stock" JB rom (only the best one admittedly) is much better than its stock rom.
I've been using different JB roms on my N7000, and personally I've seen nothing better than Omega, on N7100.
Of Course I will try it! I'm sure it will work like a charm!

The original note is actually more similar to the I9100 than the note 2, I would suggest that you wait for omega rom for the galaxy s2 to stabilize (it's already pretty stable, only messaging is problematic) and then request for a port from indie themselves

Thanks to all who responded! But not wanting to antagonize already used the OMEGA ROM and it is not only not tweaks. Have you looked at the build.prop and init.d and it has nothing much different, it's a "miracle" that the dev does kkkkkkk
But ok!

Sorry I know u ask for JB, but have you tried Democrazy CM7 ? Is pretty good.
Now I throw a question? Why would you use CM10 that is a lot heavier than CM7 which doesnt let much space to install things in it?
What is the point of having latest but super limited phone?
Is there something that I am missing?
