Hi,
I don't know why but recently my Galaxy Note just got this problem.
The camera image preview still working fine. Just that, after an image is taken, it move to the small window (shortcut to gallery).
Normally this place show the picture that just taken, but now it's just black.
Anyone with similar problem?
But the preview as shown in the snapshot is showing black too.u are using ur cam in the dark or what man?

Can u open the flash, take another shot and send us the snap shot as above

That issue is reported with Entropy' DAFUQ kernel, did you by any chance flash it?
Hi all,
Thanks for your replies.
Actually the picture is supposed to be like this. (but when I try to capture it inside it get black preview). The only black one is the small box on the bottom left. Anyone know why (eventhough the picture i previously taken is white).
I didn't flash it to any ROM. Just downgraded it to 2.5.5 to root.
One thing that normally happen with me is getting a black snaptshots in videos. Not a problem.

I tried switching to video, record one then save. It seem the problems is also there. So I guess this has something to do with camera gallery cache?

Noob ? ... I have a blue cast over all photos and what seems to be a blue tint on other screens. I didn't have the problem with Gingerbread.
Flashed several different ROMs from Cyanogenmod to get to Android 4.2.2 with photosphere. Finally flashed ATT Captivate with Cyanogenmod 10.1-20130416-EXPERIMENTAL-captivateMTD-M3 (Android 4.2.2). Then deleted the gallery and added 4.2Camera_OG.zip.
Loaded Nova launcher thinking in might solve the problem.
Photosphere works but, still have blue photos.
No help on Cyanogenmod site, Google etc. Can someone please tell me (in relatively simple terms) how I can fix this problem. I'd really like to keep Photosphere and have the results be multicolor instead of blue.
You got photosphere to work on captivate? Strange since since photosphere is not supported on captivate due to lack of gyroscope?

I'm surprised that 4.2.2 runs at all on the i897. I found a mod that installs a new camera/gallery that includes photosphere. Only tested for a minute or two since any photos made would be useless with the blue cast. But ... I only chased the blue dot up and down and didn't test left or right.
Maybe photosphere isn't working after all, but I'd still like to know what's causing the blue photos. It's like someone place a blue gel over my lens. My son is getting the camera once it's working again. The longevity of him keeping track of a Nexus 4 would be measured in weeks. I'd rather lose the i897.
Just can't figure out why my photos are blue. I've tried everything except going back to Gingerbread.
Is it JUST the photos?
Nandroid, go back to stock see if it's still blue. If it is then replace the camera (very VERY easy, it's just connected with a ribbon cable). If not, try a different camera app.

Not the camera. Went back to GB and the photos were color balanced correctly. With Cyanogenmod 4.2.2, there is a definite blue cast on the photos. Other screens don't look 100% correct as there appears to be some minor tinting of areas that should normally be white.
I read where I can use Jellybean 4.2 Camera APK on Gingerbread 2.3.6. Not sure if that will solve my problem.
Any other suggestions on camera app replacement would be helpful.
Read somewhere about photosphere not working properly with captivate. Maybe that is the case of your blues. As BB King sang, "Everyday, Everrryyy Daaay, I have the Blues"

Hello guys. I installed the new official ROM, and Snapchat looks distorted.
There is no nav bar but Snap seems like it has one, but is painted black. I can provide screenshots if you do not understand what I mean.
Is there any way to fix it, or I should go back to the old roms?

did u fix your issue ?
I have the same case - more that 10 firmwares used to test my camera 5.1 till 6.0, no matter, Stable,DEV and other= black screen.
After reboot camera looks like works, but till anattempt to make picture, camera going to stuck, with message - no response from app camera...any kind of app.
I bought new camera module, and change it = no result.
Looks like camera module works well, but some kind of issue with buffer in K3 note. It can't save picture in the memory.
actually tried to luch some kind of debug mode on K3 note.

Has anybody else noticed a weird diamond spot on some surfaces though honor play camera?
It is visible only on certain surfaces and colors, at the center of camera.
I have uploaded the pics in a honor club post, link below.
https://club.hihonor.com/in/thread.252357
I have also uploaded the video here if someone not able to compare with pics.
Anybody has any clue why is it there, please check and share your views.

I just tried this and yes. It's in mine too. Grrrr
After a few tries, I can only get it to show if I use the flash. Maybe it's just a flash issue?
Yep, I have this problem too.
Is this issue fixed? I'm guessing AI mode caused this (if that makes sense)
I've ordered Honor Play 4GB variant India which will be delivered on 4th Oct 2018 Sunday.
Starting to regret my choice.

Makes no sense that it's connected to ai, no. How could it? You can safely ignore the muppets on that other forum ("maybe you have a mark on your jeans" lol!)
It happens with me with Open Camera so it's not even related to the stock camera app. I used to have a sony z3 and that camera added a pink blob in the middle. I just don't think phone manufacturers test their stuff properly.

Oh cool ! Thanks for the reply.
Got any tips for a new Honor Play user ?
I only see it when I use the flash, on items close to the lens, so I'm wondering if it's taking the image slightly sooner than it should do?
It seems like and it's the actual flash LED glow that's causing the spot?
If it took a millisecond longer to take the pic, the LED glow wouldn't get picked up by the image sensor?
Just a theory.

No, because for me it happens (I can see the shape) when i've not yet taken the shot so there's no flash, focus light etc. And the shape - it's a rotated square.
It is odd, because I can't get it to occur on every photo. It does seem easiest on trousers! Perhaps it's supposed to be a watermark that's much less visible.
If you only pretend to use your phone camera and instead use a proper camera, like huawei do (https://petapixel.com/2018/08/20/huawei-caught-faking-smartphone-photos-with-a-dslr-again/) then you won't have this problem.
Hey guys i have this problem on my note 8 that instagram buttons are visible transparently and if you look hard you can see them on white enough backgrounds or other bright parts.
I have tried uninstalling instagram but this didnt help.
And when i screenshot them they are not visible in the screenshot picture. Its like that the instagram app frame is running transparently on my screen.
I checked my brother's note 8 and it has this problem too. And reseting and flashing the phone dosent help. It was on android 8 and it still exists on android 9 after update.
I wonder how i can fix this problem...

Update: i looked harder and it looks like its not even from the latest instagram app . The logo of instagram that appears transparently on top of the screen is for an older version of instagram.
For one, it's hard to help you, if the problem is not present in a screenshot. Nevertheless, maybe try restarting the system ui or a facfory reset if you haven't already.
It could be burn in....

10/10 this sounds like burn in. You obviously spend too much time on Instagram at full brightness.

even i have the same problem I'm my oneplus 6 for months, of course I've tried reinstalling the app and restarting the phone several times, it still stays and it's getting real annoying.
Hi guys. Anyone else have an issue whereby the colors in the photo preview are rich and vibrant and then the captured photo is flat and horrible? Happens in social media apps as well as the main camera. But only with photos not videos. Any ideas? Before and after attached.
The first one looks way oversaturated especially the red channel.
Clear system cache and cam data.
Probably has to do with settings but could be the firmware is displaying previews in vivid display mode.

Tbh I wouldn't mind if it displayed the second image, but I don't want two different results. I want whatever I'm looking at to be the taken photo. I'll try that thanks.
Does yours do this if you have the same phone?

That first image is a screen shot?
I have Note 10+'s. I only use the preshot image to set up, frame, AF lock, exposure, etc a shot.
After decades of shooting the final result is all that matters to me. I find shooting with smartphones to be generally annoying.
