I'm trying to setup Groove with my Bionic, everytime I start GrooveIP, the program crashed.
Does anyone able to get GrooveIP working on Bionic?
FYI, the GrooveIP is working fine on my D2 and Droid X.

Did you said, it'ts working on Droid Bionic? can you confirm?
I know, it's working on Droid X and Droid 2 but not on D3 and Bionic.
I have had it on my bionic for quite awhile and have never had a problem. I'm not knowledgeable enough to help you troubleshoot, but, wanted to give confirmation that it does work with this device.

What is your ROM version?
Is your phone rooted?
I have the lastest official rom rooted. I use groove ip everyday. Have since the bionic's release date.
I would do a full uninstall of the app and download it and install it again if you have not tried that yet.
Also is your phone rooted/rom'd?
For example, everytime I tried using safestrap it would force close and not work properly until I rooted my phone, even then I had to uninstall and reinstall it to get it to work after it was rooted.
I'm using 904 ROM and Safestrap with Eclipss
1: On 902 ROM with Safestrape dualboot --> crashed
2: Eclipse ROM with Safestrape dualboot --> crashed
3: SBF 904 ROM, with Safestrape dualboot --> crashed
Yes, the phone always ROOTED
--> all above setup but GrooveIP still crashed :-(

Hey guys, i'm not rooted and updated using three file process to get to system version 5.7.893 only to realize that my webtop was there but not working or as they say broken. A known problem in the three fill update process. I kept reading you have to revet to stock via the method posted and then use the single update file package of 54mb to have webtop again.
I didn't want to do that because the process wipes the phone. So i downloaded the single file blur.....5.5.886.XT875 which is supposed to bring you to 5.7.893 after reverting to stock in order to have webtop. Put it on sd and booted in recovery and told it update from sd card.
It went smoothly. So now i have a software version i was really loving because my phone was running smoothly on 7.893 but now i also have webtop again. Version 1 it says.
And i confirmed i was on 5.7.893 before trying this. So i'm not sure it will work for everyone, but according to the instructions given, i didn't have to go through all of that.
If i'm going to run into problems in the future - someone alet me. If not i hope it works for other. Love my webtop.
If someone already posted this somewhere, sorry. Be easy on me
Didn't work for me. Got asert error. Are you sure you ever lost webtop?

yes i am very certain that i lost it. when i was sitting on ver. 5.5893 webtop was very unstable. then when i got up to 7.893 it was gone. i could not access it from the drop down menue when on the dock nothing. i am quite certain it was gone. i battery pull etc etc and nothing there was no option to run it from anywhere. i tried several times. It is curious though that i can install the one package file even with no revert and after already installing the three separate files and you can't. i ran it again last night and it installed just fine again so idk.

Yes thanks for the link and btw...Eclipse just released they Bionic Build 04 using Verizon's 904 update - h t t p://eclipserom.com/vforum/showthread.php?1612-ROM-Eclipse-Bionic-Build-04-4-30-12 and is working Excellent performance wise and battery life is now well above 10 hours without needing a charge or booster shot I was so used too providing on ICS Gummy. The Eclipse developer just released his latest update 04/30/12 in the last day and it now has even more polish especially for those who don't appreciate Motorola Blur.
Give it a shot and check it out! Sorli...

It says that. Ignore it. It is .904 mine said the same.
and no. you have to be on stock .902 bloated, odexed, root is okay, but you will lose it. If not on stock .902 you have to FXZ back, then go in to stock recovery (holding both volume buttons and powering up, and pressing down once and up to open it) then one the fancy logo appears press both volume buttons, the apply update. Navigate to it and select it. Then once its done you'll be .904 stock, unrooted. So run the motofail root script. Then enjoy.

I have a question. I don't own a bionic, but my brother in law has one (great phone), I rooted it with motofail, installed safestrap. He is on.902 currently. once I had him ripped, I immediately switched to the safe side. It made a backup before it switched to safe. I put eclipse 2.2 on it. Now. I am waiting for 904 to go official. When I switch back to unsafe, will I be back on stock right away? or do I have to do a restore of that backup once I am back on unsafe side?
Now, once back to stock, rooted 902, can he get an ota? I would think he could. I know in my thunderbolt, if you are stock and rooted, you can get an ota. Sorry for all the questions, just want to be sure what to do. Moto is much different than htc is in this respect. Thanks, Daniel

I applied 904 to my unsafe system just by switching over to it and following the guide. You will likely have to reflash eclipse after backing up your unsafe system again. I didn't though and switched back to safe system and checked phone info and it has the updated radios

Once the official release hits probably. First you would revert back to your "unsafe" system through the safestrap boot menu which should still be running stock 902 (or whatever version he has) Once that is loaded you reboot and it will boot your stock system.
Once your up and running in the stock system the phone will update its apps(Since the stock system has not been run since you rooted/rom'd I'm assuming). I recommend being on WiFi if possible unless he has unlimited data. After that completes you will need to Hit the button to the left of the home button (the 4 blocks with one colored in) > Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
It will look for the update and download it OTA if available. It will wipe out your root so you will need to motofail again after that and probably reinstall SafeStrap(I had to)

Forgot to mention. You may or may not have to reflash Eclipse to your safe system after the update. I personally didn't and the radios are reflecting the update but the system is still showing as 902 update since im running off of my original 902 eclipse flash.
Anybody got any info on the OTA I have been notified of soak but havent herd anything for about a week and a half? I wonder if it will even be 904 Moto will probably change the # just because they could.

Stuck waiting, just like ICS
It's pretty pathetic that they can't even get minor updates out the door. It doesn't bode well for us getting ICS before this phone outlives its usefulness. Sorry to be so cynical, but, VZW and updates has just been horrible. (And not just for the Bionic....right, anyone waiting for an official ICS build for a 4G Xoom? All 2 of you that haven't rooted it and gone to a ROM...) Uh, anyway, let's hope they get this update rolled out soon so we can resume the wait for ICS.

I don't want to seem like an A-hole. But before the phone out lives its usefulness? Almost any smart phone on the market will be useful for years. It's only the american greed wanting the newest baddest phones. How many people actually wait the full 2 years before upgrading? I know I don't. Cell phones have came a long ways, and my wifes DROID OG is still being used as a back up phone being 3 years old. So use a different argument. We will get it, just be patient

I guess you completely missed my point. What I don't want to see happen, and is very POSSIBLE, is that we get ICS after Jelly Bean is released. You're going to tell me that would make you happy? If I had waited a couple more months from when I bought the Bionic in the first place, i.e. having the patience you're telling me I need now, I could have simply bought a phone that CAME with ICS rather than having to wait months for it...

It wouldnt make me happy, nor would it upset me. I buy my phones according to the hardware and the specs that I think will fit me the best. The operating system is just an added bonus. Of course I want ICS, and then Jelly Beam, but I'm not going to complain about the speed I receive the update. Some are faster, some are slower. Just the way of life. Id rather wait.an extra 4 months for a build that isn't super glitchy, as to have it as soon as it's released and it not function properly. Just my opion

Don't think eclipse works with new Safestrap. I have tested CM10, AOKP, AOSP, and Steel Droid. Those 4 all are "working".
Steel Droid is the most stable one i have tried so far, CM10, AOKP and AOSP all lag for me.
Hey guys,
New to Droid 3/ Milestone 3 World here.
I just bought one, actually with the 5.2.390.XT860.Brasil.en.BR version.
I'm not exacly new to flashing roms, and recoveries, but in this case I'm a little confused. Is it possible to use SafeStrap on this one? Or better go for an older version of it?
Thanks in advance.
@Munckster, as long as it is rooted you can install safestrap 3.04 and try if custom roms work for you?? but make sure you have the correct SS3 version!!

I was thinking about trying... Maybe during the weekend..
Thanks for the advice, man!
I took my phone back to stock (from an oldish CM9 that had been working reasonably well for me for some time) so I could install SS3. Made the mistake of letting the phone OTA update itself and then had to find a new root hack before I could get SS3 installed.
Unfortunately the OTA update has messed with the radio, as reinstalling the CM9 I've used for months gets a system where the phone app just crashes.
The kexec cm9 on hash code's download site results in a black screen for me. I have to pull the battery to get the phone back. Funnly enough the old CM9 does boot - and every thing works except the phone.
The latest CM10 does every thing I want (I can live with out the camera) BUT I can't receive calls, the phone app crashes. (But I can MAKE calls!).
This is on GSM BTW, not CDMA where I live.
So i'm busted back down to the 'stock' OS so I can use my phone as a phone
And as a new XDA user I can't post my bug report in the developer thread.
Well,
I installed the 3.0.5 version. Works like a charm! The easiest to use recovery that I ever use.
But the question is: Is it safe to downgrade it?
Sorry about the dumb question.
SS3 can be un-installed pretty easily. Boot your 'stock' OS, then use the SS3 app to remove the 'hijack' and then reboot again. No SS3. Just remember to do it from the 'stock' OS and not one of the others.
Don't do what I did with SS2 - from a non stock OS, remove SS and reboot. Ended up with a phone that never finished booting before it rebooted. Fortunately the emergency recovery mode built into the phone worked to recover it.

Is the issue you're having that when you're speaking to people on the phone you can't hear anything and they can't hear you? Cause on CM9 there should be no issues with using it as a phone as long as you don't enable bluetooth ever or use buttons on a headset connected to your phone. I haven't tried CM10 yet so I wouldn't know too much about that. Just for some extra info to save your time do not flash Liberty or Eclipse, they don't seem to work. The newest Maverick works fine.

I'm hoping I can get it done right so that I may move on to rooting my Samsung Tab2. Then after that I look forward to using su and safestrap, but i cant without a good root. help please

Yea that's the method I used also, I'm sorry but I just don't know what your problem would b, I guess the best thing to do would b to just start all over and make sure u have the latest moto drivers from there site and just give it another try. Good luck and let us know if u do any good.

You might also want to try a different method. I used the Droid 4 Utility ICS Only by jsnweitzel. It probably does the same thing but might be worth a shot. Using the same utility you could also try using the restore function to start fresh (one of the restore options allows you to not wipe data).

The ICS root tool and Jsnweitzel's are the same thing just packaged in an app so both would work. I also noticed that sometimes you have to download superuser from the market. After doing that open a program that requires root and then the prompt will appear asking if you want to give su permission. Grant it. Then go to superuser and update the binary.

Yeah it is updating in su right now.
Next step, like you were mentioning, is to get cm10.. hope that runs a little smoother. haha.
Well good luck and glad its workin out, but I do have to say that cm10 isn't perfect but its close, there are a few things that don't work. The camera flash doesn't work and mms has to be tweeked to get it to work, all u have to do is go into your message settings and turn auto retrieve off and it works fine, or u can use go sms pro app, and you lose webtop and I'm pretty sure hdmi doesn't work, I still use cm10 as my daily driver with no problems except the ones mentioned above and everything else works great, but that's the good thing about using safestrap because u can flash several roms and just flash back and forth from rom to rom until you find the one u like the most. So hope it all works out and just make sure u watch a how to video on youtube or something when learning how to use safestrap and flashing custom roms.

Update:
First I tried it without gapps. Everything booted fine, but there was no market nor would accounts/ sync let me add Google account.
So, I rebooted into recovery, which worked fine, and flashed gapps.
This time on boot, I actually got the Droid X welcome screen, was able to put in Google info, and market initiator ran and updated.
After that everything worked fine.
Tested Bluetooth, Messages, Gps and Calls. Didn't get chance to try Wifi yet, but I'm sure it works since everything-else does.
The only thing that Would be better is an updated Superuser. The 1 included will NOT update SU Binary. I think it's the old edify binary. Even by updating Superuser in the market WON'T help. Although an easy fix is to get RootUninstaller and uninstall Rom Superuser, then download new 1 from the market and install.
Keep up the hard work. Nice Rom.
Finally, does this works for any other gb kernel besides .621?
Anybody please tell us!
Nope, but maybe yes

Nope, but I may have a bad download as I forgot to check the Md5 sum before I flashed. Install was aborted. I can't try again right now because I have another phone to flash and have to go to bed early tonight.
And thank your for the review I've been waiting for a review like that I've created a couple roms and no one has have gave me so much input

No prob Kiladar. I think if someone is going to comment on someones work, they should at least review it and be as informative as possible. It makes it easier
on the devs to look at potential probs/fixes too.
Oh yea, I also got to looking into your system/app folder in your zip. The vending.apk is Not in there, which i would say is why I had to flash the gapps. Just wanted you to know.
Also there is no "boot.img" (which is kernel right?) in the new dwnload.
Right, I will update OP saying to flash gapps rather then say not needed

Downloading Now. I just hope it's for the rooted .621 Non-Milestone hack. The Milestone hack (for root) is .604.

Nice Rom.

wifi works just fine with it, and I agree bout the updated superuser since you cant uninstall the one you have with it which means you also cant update to the new superuser because they are different volumes but over all nice ROM.:good:

I had it working on mine but my .605 was the .621/.605 deodexed hacked version cause I was on the .621 before I did the work around on the magic 5 route, originally I did the .604 work around but it should work on the .605 stock rooted, but then again I was also running the kernel for the .621 sooooo if the kernel is the key for running it maybe you cant.
Try another download, maybe you did get a bad DL

I tried this again but, I think the real problem is with my microSD card. I have subsequently tried to flash other roms and have had other aborts as well. I know that the md5's on those checked out. I was able to flash a cm9 based rom and got it set up just fine. All this from the same card on the same phone. Sooo I am attempting to format the card just in case I have bad sectors or something.
Luckily my DX is no longer activated and just keeps me from killing my SGS3 with flashes.:silly:

I hear ya, I had the same prob with sd card so i formatted mine as well, problem was still there though. whenever i tried to install a rom from sd card via rom manager the problem was i kept getting the message saying waiting for sd cart to mount then it would say error bla bla bla sending log file to cwm ect ect ect.... i dont know exactally how i fixed that, all i know is i installed another rom, like cm7 or cm9 for instance and after that whenever i went to back up rom it worked fine ever since.... maybe something flashes over correcting the sd card problem when you install a rom... I know rom manager checks to verify the marker on sd card and thats what your problem is I believe.
Try doing this, try installing a rom cm7/cm9 without making a backup (i know you could lose everything if it fails but its the only way i know that fixed mine) after you have installed cm7/9 go to rom manager and hit the Backup Current Rom it should reboot you to cwm recovery and make an auto backup, if it does this without throwing up the waiting for sd card to mount error stuff and it runs the backup program and then reboots you it should fix your sd card problems.....
Review this rom
this is by far a ROM with the least lag by far i tried liquid ICS and plenty others don't know what it is but the lag is really minimal runs really smooth i only have this for like 3 hours but will update soon
pls hit thanks if i helped
