Hello Everybody.
recently I noticed that My Galaxy Note eats very much battery even in sleep mode.
from 12 at night till 8 at morning it eats 30 percent battery.
I install a clean version of N7000JPLA1 middle east version and factory reset my phone after flash. it went good.but after I only open samsung apps (samsung apps update itself and samsung accout) it starts eating too much battery again.
What should I do?
anybody else has this problem?
untick the Samsung PUSH from market and firmware update. and if you want more disable autosync. I have noticed that when I had a update for a app from SAMSUNG store it would eat another battery even it was night and phone should have 1% every 1:45-2:45 hours depends of the synchronization, but it was eating 3-5% every hour. hope it helps you
iam using lc1 lb2 lc1

Sorry Can't help.
does anybody have this issue?
There is nothing normal about what is going on.
The very likely reason for sudden increased battery consumption is recently installed apps that have created background services.
Before you go to bed, try this:
task manager>open apps> close all
task manager>ram> clear memory
settings>applications>running services> close all unnecessary services

Hello All,
I'll start with the specs:
Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (Vibrant)
DarkyROM JVQ v10.2.2
Baseband Version: I9000UGKG3
Firmware: 2.3.4
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVQ-CL281085 [email protected] #DarkCore_2.9.2_JVQ
Issue:
Extreme battery discharge. Most noticable when using the Facebook app. After charging for 12 hours (battery life at 99% - 100%), I will load the FaceBook app and browse around for about 10 minutes. After about 5-10 minutes, the phone will shut off, upon rebooting the battery display will be at 0-5% (down from 100% in 5-10 minutes). Here is where is gets weird....The battery will then begin (if not using the facebook app) to slowly climb back up throughout the day to about 75-80% than slowly discharge again. Loading the facebook app will kill it almost instantly. Phone will pretty much last the entire day if not using it. It seems that it is falsly reporting the battery life.
Things tried:
-Discharge completely, wipe battery stats, recharge to 100%
-Wipe Cache
-Wipe Delvic Cache
Has anyone had this issue before? Right now, it appears that the facebook app is the only one that will instantly kill the battery.....Please let me know if you require more information. As far as About>battery usage, all appears normal.

VM settings? not sure I know what you mean.....I haven't tried a different rom as of yet due to lack of FULL support for TORQUE which I use in the car consistantly. However, I had never had a problem with this rom and have been running it since the day it came out. This issue started last week, no new software, mods etc.
Possible battery problem. I experienced this fast discharging too and sudden shutdown of phone. But when i changed my batt, it came back to normal.

hey, checked the battery for change in color, the tag is still white, no color change at all. Battery is fairly new, always worked well. It is a Samsung Galaxy S2 battery that I had received at the beginning of the year through work (I have the Galaxy S, the S2 battery has the slightly higher 1800mah, but is generally the same battery). It has always worked excellent up until last week, the facebook app seems to be the only app that kills it in less than 2 minutes. I had checked it's health with the battery calibrator app from google play and it states it is in good shape, however I'm not sure that would be accurate. Any other ideas? I believe I will be upgrading to the Note 2 next month, but still plan on using this phone for GPS/Torque....thanks to all, this forum has always been great!
I have tried another round of battery reset processes, no luck. The phone is fine as long as I do not use the facebook app, or any app that accesses facebook. Youtube, internet and everything of that nature does not kill the phone. I'm thinking this may not be a battery issue..
Hi Guys,
I have bought my Galaxy note GT N7000 more than an year ago. I still consider myself as a newbie to android and I still have Gingerbread 2.3.6 on my GT N7000.
Everything was working fine until recently the battery was draining a bit more quickly than usual. Charging to 100% is also very fast taking only 45-60 mins. Normally it would take 2-3 hours previously. I observed this odd phenomenon only a month ago. It was the time when I download many GO Locker themes free using GETJAR. Please note that I downloaded many apps that GETJAR asked me download and I downloaded apps only from Playstore. It was also during this period that I put a Transcend Micro SDHC 16GB class 4 card into my GT N7000. I also have tried removing many apps that got via GETJAR but still the battery drain issue is present
Today I was hearing music and playing temple run, When the battery levels goes below 30%, the screen begins to flicker. However I ignored this and continued playing and the flickering frequency was increased and there was constant flickering when the charge was around 15% and finally when the charge was around 11% the phone was powered off automatically. Even I tried to power on, it would not come and then I have to remove the battery for a few min and placed it back and powered the device and only then it was powered on.
I'd appreciate, if anyone could let me know how to troubleshoot these issues. Please note that I don't want to factory reset my GT N7000 as I want to retain all my apps as well as Games data without rooting.
Regards,
K.Ramesh Karthik.

+Whiskeyjack4855 - Thanks for the reply. Are you sure about it? Because one of colleagues told me that it could be due to a huge number of app that I have installed on my phablet. Will the battery die within 2 years as I bought my phablet on Dec 2011?
Regards,

Lot of issues on battery has bee reported after one year of usage.
Mine died after 14 months, the battery began to swell and during usage i think it heats up and comes away from the contacts.
A new battery completely fixed my problems so it should do for you too. Buy an official sammy one, it was only £8 in uk from amazon. Well worth it

Same problem after updating to JB official ROM
Hi,
I have the same problem after updating to JB official ROM. After the screen flickers, the phone turns off, and when I turn it on again, the battery level drops insanely. If turn on again, I have another battery level, until screen starts flickering again. This happens over and over again...
Once I plug it in, it starts behaving "normally" and after 2 or 3 hours, it starts this crazy cycle again.
This didn't happen before the update.
Any ideas?

This exact thing happened to me just recently (Note is from original release batch, so nearly 18-month-old battery) - replaced the battery with an official Samsung one off of Amazon UK and it stopped. Make sure you get one from a decent supplier, or the "fulfilled by Amazon" one: first time I got a dud battery that wouldn't even turn on.
My battery was bulging - it doesn't fit in the gap properly and the back cover has a bit of play that was never there before.
same here..
only yesterday...new battery..2 months old?
It happened with me even with ics, my phone came pre installed with. But flickering only happens when my battery reaches 1 percent. Usually 2-3 mins after it reaches 1 percent. And then soon the phone turns off. Basically it happens just a few seconds to a minute when the phone is about to turn off. Otherwise it doesn't happen. This is my 4th note. It never happened on my previous 3. Hope that helps.

I'm having this same issue now... I've ordered a new battery from Amazon.... hope it solves the problem
If the battery drains like hell, and it's bulging, get a new battery. It solves the problem. I had this problem last week, and new battery got rid of it.
Me and my wife bought our notes at the sane time but her battery lasted a few months longer than mine did.
Seems like a new battery after a year or so it's inevitable.

Same here battery 16 months old
Same here, my battery is 16 months old (now having a bulge too). Screen flickers @lower battery levels pretty much every time, though never when phone is connected to charger.
It seems Samsung Battery Life is less than Nokia
same issue exactly appeared after 17 months of buying.
I was charging the mobile via Car Charger which reduced the battery life.
after buying a new one, it worked OK but to be in safe side I upgraded OS to ICS.
It seems Samsung Battery Life is less than Nokia !!!!
The same problem
Actually i do have the same problem 5 days ago, mine is 15 months old Galaxy Note holding Jellybean 4.1.2 XXLT5 ofw . I asked help from specialist in mobile phones and he told me to change the battery immediately , so i asked for the battery (Original one from Samsung retailer) and it will be delivered for me this Monday. I'll keep you informed by details.
---------- Post added at 05:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:03 PM ----------
I noticed also the flickering is accompanied by heat in the device processor , at the end of the discharging process (20 % 10% battery signal) or while surfing the 3G for longer time . sometimes it shut down suddenly
I don't know what's causing this. Anybody have the same situation as I have? Any ideas to remove Android OS battery drain? TIA
Remove Android OS from your system :screwy::silly:
Seriously its core process of entire OS (operating system).
Without it your phone can't work

Every now and then i have the same problem, Android OS chewing my battery dry...it keeps my phone "Awake" all the time, like when i sleep for 8 hours it eats my battery over 30% ... but, after a restart or 2 or 3 restarts it gets back to its usual behavior, phone goes to sleep when i don't use it and i get easily 2 days of medium usage...
i still have stock ROM and dont know what keeps the Android OS working all the time in the background, but as i said it happens rarely, maybe 2-3 times a month,so probably its some sort of a glitch
P.S. @NoTricks , 2 months ago i installed Dropbox app and even i have had its settings not to upload anything automatically, the application was working all the time in the background killing my battery super fast...after i uninstalled it the phone went back to normal battery usage...just my personal experience with that app....

Having the same issue with my battery. I did fully charged it last night and turn on the airplane mode with wifi off.. after 7 hours of not using it it consumes 45% of my battery and when i checked what consumes that it says "device idle". My phone is rooted with a kernel from root sick which in my knowledge came with a deep sleep function. I also have greenify installed and select all of my apps to be hibernated when the phone is not in use.. i disabled all bloatwares and most of the system app using package disabler. Hope somene recommends whats best. Many thanks
Do the note 5's come with Knox? If it does then you might try getting rid of it. I did this on my wifes old tab 4 and it drastically improved battery life and heat as the tab did get warm. After removing knox, not only did the battery life improve but thr tab stayed nice and cool.
hello,
just updated my note 5 to nougat 7.0.
realised there is a significant battery drain.
during my 9 hr of sleep, battery level dropped from 90% to 70% with mobile data off, GPS off, Bluetooth off, NFC off, sync off, google location service off.
I tried clearing cache and Dalvik cache, didn't work.
I tried resetting app preferences, didn't work.
kernel and android system takes up most of the battery

1)Your probably facing deep sleep issue but AFAIK deep sleep is already fixed there in official nougat 7.0 by sammy, Primary solution you can try is to factory reset your device If not helps
THEN
2)Either wait for next official OTA release for your device Or Try any custom pre-rooted rom with Deep-Sleep Fixed on side of kernel
I have the same problem as you. My battery drain is horrible. I get maybe four or five hours before I have to plug it back in. When I have my Note 7 I could take it off the charger at 7 in the morning and at 10 at night when I got home I still had about 70% battery. I sent mine back for the recall about 4 months ago still haven't got my money back from Samsung. As I wait for that check I bought another Note 5 and flashed the Note 7 ROMs the S8 plus ROMs and every other ROM and this phone just has the worst battery life especially after using the Note 7. The best thing to do is find a light type ROM with a lot of bloatware uninstalled and run Greenify

You know I just bought a Galaxy Note 5. AWESOME price. And was made Feb 2017.. wow. I did by one a week before that. It was N920a. Made 2015. WOW was it slow. And still on Android would never update. So sent it back.. got this on N920I and was on 6. I never read anything about battery problems. And it updated to 7 RIGHT away. Loved it. I tried 2 programs ..had to do with themes. WOW the battery drained SO fast. NOTHING was running. So I deleted what I put on. Those two.. and over night only lost 3%. I cant speak for "ROMS". I ALWAYS root and put on some ROM. But this time.. I am going to wait. Right NOW is AWESOME.
Trust me.. had a Google Pixel... duh had to give it to kid that moved.. to get a job at Microsoft.. YES. So all I was using was ZUK Z2..which had a AWESOME battery.. only go down 1%. Oh.. but the camera.. when I use the Note 5....WOW..
So..there are THINGS programs we ALL love to stick on.. SOME can be.. as in my case be the problem. Theres just no way those two programs in my eyes could effect the battery. But reset over and over.. putting them on then not.. They were the problem.
