Sorry, I am new to the forum.
I flashed GingerDX v025 with Alfsv08a. However, when I runned HD games (like gameloft or some other games that have a large size), they were always forced to be closed before any logo came out. I tried to increase the cpu frequency, but the problem is still there.
I searched some posts here but I still cant get the right solution.
Can anyone help me please?

officially there are no gameloft games working on x8.
so try googling HVGA games instead..

what ROM and Kernel are u using??
try using custom kernal n ROM
like Alfs with GDX
and swap
u can play Alsphalt 5 smoothly
But there are many people in this forum can play gameloft games.
Does swapping improve the compatibility of HD games?

Well you must try to use Chainfire 3d
The problem has to be something else. Even if the game isn't HVGA it will still open and load, its just it won't fit the screen. And he's already on custom rom/kernel so that can't be it. Try what deedii said although I doubt that's the problem as you can play certain HD games even on stock kernel/rom.

Actualy try to redownload hvga from another site. Can you tell what games you want to play, because some games can't be runned with x8...(armv7, x8 is armv6)

to free up more memory go to settings-->running apps.
now press the menu button, an option comes up "show cached apps".
click on that and end all apps except your home launcher and see the magic.
also try supercharging your phone

hd games
you need to find the hgva games thats been altered to run well on sony x8, most links have been disabled by copywrite rules, gameloft doesnt like you stealing games, but they can be still found on torrent sites, look them up. Ps i was told with some games when you first start to play, use airplane mode to give time for the game to access the date and not try to install its own data. I have my sd card full of hd games and they all run well on my gingerdx with alf 8a, good rom for games, hope this helps

I've bought this game a week ago and now that i flashed JM7 and voodoo lagfix I can't find it anymore. I've "unknown sources" ticked and i even tried eris market fix without result...
Any ideas?

Im on the same FW and Voodoo Fix, i can see Caligo,
Rerun Eris, reboot and let your phone startup normaly, then shutdown, then boot to recovery mode and click "wipe/clean cache"
Then give it about 10 mins for the paid apps including your Caligo to appear..
What games aren't on the market.
I was just wondering what high end games or apps might be out there that aren't on the market. I just found out about gameloft are there others? Also has the unreal engine 3 made its way to android yet I was looking around and found only older articles saying it might be. The technology demo for it on the I phone look amazing.

From experience, the games from Gameloft aren't on the market. You have to buy them directly from their website. These games include N.O.V.A. HD, UNO HD, Avatar HD, etc etc. There are around 10 or so "HD" games that all have pretty good graphics. I'm not too sure how they are gameplay-wise but I've heard a lot about N.O.V.A... Check out videos on Youtube for this and other Gameloft games.
If you aren't from one of the countries that the full Android market is available in, then you won't be seeing ALOT and you won't be seeing the paid games if that's what you've been searching for. There's a sim emulator app floating around somewhere that would bypass that and as long as you have a valid credit card then you'd be able to buy games and stuff from the market and from gameloft.
Dunno about any really great free games that aren't on the market though..

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Canada so I get paid apps but like you said gameloft games arent on the market and if you didn't read form like xda or use apps like buzz you would never know they exist. So I'm wondering if there are other companys out there the have games that aren't on the market free or paid.

I found Gameloft games through Youtube actually. So far, that's pretty much all I know that isn't in the Android market. It's taking some time for the big developers out there to roll out Android versions of their games but I know of a lot that are working towards that. Expect though that as soon as they do have something, they'd release it via the Android market since that's the main form of distribution for those things anyway. I have no idea why Gameloft chose to ignore the Android market way of distributing games. I guess they want to handle piracy issues their way.
The Android market isn't as strict as the App Store of Apple. That's why there are a lot of other sources of iOS apps out there that provide apps and games not in or not yet in the App store (since they weren't approved or are taking a while to be approved).
You dont need to pay all the gameloft game..just search at 4shared.com 4 example nova.apk.. But i've a problem to install the other game data to memory card because after preinstallation at hp it required install the game data to memory card..anyone can help me please..

Hi. Is there any way to play earth and legend on x8? did anyone tried it? i installed it but in loading screen is closing. of course its for hi end devices but i like it very much and it worth to ask for it

And NVIDIA. Try it with GINGERDX or my latest Cyborg.
Note: I DIDN'T swap and I was using stock kernel.
Install these zip in cf3d. Make settings I said, and choose nvidia or powervr.
I hope u guys will successfully play this game, but our x8 can't display the clothes they are wearing, but hat and pants can be displayed. Just like my screenshots.

thanx for the links . The thing is that i had the plugins but when i start the game with chainfire was freezing in "restoring bonus content". Anyway somehow after some restarts and install-uninstalls i manage to open the game at last. i actually play some missions but after i updated the cyborg to v4 (nice update kevinlogix ) i lost the game and after install it again it freezing like before.start all over again What a mess . AT LAST it WORKS!!. After i FULL WIPE i install chainfire with DEFAULT settings (per-app doesn't working) (settings:
redused texture quality to 16 bit colors
redused texture size
and POWERVR in plugins and restart. NVIDIA works two but with some graphics problems for me. The game runs very good with minimum lugs.

Ever since I got my rooted v20n working, I've been trying to get Dead Space to run.
I've tried using Chainfire3D with each of the 3 drives but I wasn't successful...
The best I've gotten was to the EA loading screen, and then the app crashes!
Any tips or suggestions that might work? Maybe overclocking the device or using an app to fix an issue? (because I have no idea why the game crashes)

Try a different game version or cracked by another developer.I encountered same issue with Galaxy S until I found a version that worked.Hope it helps

The only version that worked for me was 1.98.6. Try finding this. Sorry for the very late post. Thid version workef on stock, zeus and cm nightlies for me.

I got mine working without Chainfire3d. I was on Zeus3b when it worked.
the newer versions of deadspace do not require chainfire as EA added powervr support
Hi, for it works well, but it needs internet for working. If not it will crash at EA screeen.

it worked for me without chainfire on deodexed v20n ...i cant remember the version though.. and internet is needed to start the game...
Dead Space is compatible with LG Optimus Black, it works flawlessly, I bought it at 30c, a bargain for the game... when Play launched! I also bought NFS Hot Pursuit, Modern Combat 3, ShadowGun and a bunch of other games, you don't need cracked games at these prices... And I don't think XDA is the place to talk about that!

First try downloading black market alpha and using that download dead space then it will work for sure

I am new to rooting, roms and all, today was first time I tried using rom, and I used GingerDX. Main reason for me to use it was so I could play games I wasn't able to before, like Temple Run, Dead Trigger and Minecraft, but I can't enter these games, when I try to start them I get

minecraft isnt for armv6 cpus its only for armv7

Well..Temple run is not compatible for our devices yet..it support..but its kinda laggy and has auto die bug!
And like some games force closes..(process.com.mojang.minecraftpe) has stopped unexpectedly etc!..All those games are not for our devices..all is for Like armv7 devices but our X8 has armv6 processor!
Correct me if im wrong! Because im not good about gaming :silly:

Yeah, if u even doesn't swap u can play it with chainfire. But the bug isn't fixed yet.

It has really good performance and you can install whatever you want!(of games)
Maybe some games from internet(not GP) will not work!
For me Gangstar Vegas from internet didnt work!
But i installed a lot of games and no one was lagging!(maybe little) :victory:
