Is it possible to change the pen color in the built-in photo editor app?
If so how?
I am only getting a black pen color, but I see here a lot of people with several ink colors on their annotated images.
Please help.

Click on the pen icon in the top left hand corner and there should be a drop down to select pen type, thickness and colour.

Thank you so very much. I cannot believe how stupid I was. I thought that it was just an indicator of the tool currently in use.
OT: I shall soon upload a pic of myself, so that you can point to it and tell people "There goes the world's biggest doofus".

Hey guys,
I've got a brand new HTC Touch Diamond. On certain screens in particular the Contacts, Messaging, SMS or the screen to select the Avatar for farvourite People, there seems to be a colour gradient on the screen in that the right portion of my screen is towards the grey shade wherelse the left portion is whiter in colour. Is this part of the theme or a standard feature or is this a defect on my unit?
The thing is I don't get this issue on the 'Align Screen' screen which has a similar white background, nor do I get this gradient on Program and Settings menus.
Could someone please help me confirm?
Thanks.
Cheers.
*bump*
Pls help???
I called HTC regarding this issue and they told me it's just part of the graphics theme but I'm not entirely convinced though...
Thanks.

You could try taking a screenshot and copy that to your computer. If the gradient appears there then its a part of the graphics in the theme.. But if it does not appear on the screenshot on the pc. then you can consider it as a failure.
I checked contacts (touchflo) -> all people (left softkey), and yeah there's a slight gradient from white to a very very light grey. (Going from left to right)
Thanks so much for the great help guys..... I'll take a screenshot later just to confirm the issue....
A simple test is, go to settings > today,...and change theme to Windows Mobile Default / Green. See if the light grey change to fade blue / green?
I can confirm 99.9% is the theme....
it is normal....
crash74:
Thanks. Yes I've tried that before starting this thread. The gradient does follow the theme colour but I thought it was a backlight issue.. i.e. that portion of the screen not lit properly hence it appears darker regardless of the theme's colour.

then you fire up word mobile, and create a new document.
You should have a full white background......

Yes tried that.. I don't get the gradient on white pages such as the 'Align Screen' page, documents, IE, even the b/g of Programs and Settings looks perfect.
So it's safe to assume I don't have to send my unit back for warranty yeah? I just wanted to be sure before sticking my invisibleSHIELD on
btw, what screen/body protector are you using? I might have a spare invisibleSHIELD if you're interested.

That should be the theme issue....
you can try UITweaker,
go to TdyScheme Changer > change all the 4 list(left 1 & 2 + right 1 & 2) color to white...
cheers,...
I tried taking the a few screenshots and yes the gradient is there when viewed from the PC as well although less apparent. But yeah it's definitely the theme then.
When I was on the phone with HTC the girl also advised me to have my phone sent in to be checked... until I asked her "shouldn't you confirm this isn't normal before we proceed further"? lol
hey everyone
it turns out i am not great at image editing lol i spent the better part of a morning messing around in gimp trying to reproduce that shiny effect where it looks like light is reflecting off part of an image. i think i was heading in the right direction by trying to apply a gradient effect to the image but just couldn't get it to come out looking professionally done. infact my work looked more like a 2 year old had done it lol
any ways i have attached the image and if you look you can see how at the tops and bottoms of the image it starts out dark and as it moves to the center of the image it lightens. I would like to do this but in black and have it fade to gray so that it matches the black status bar on the hero. does anyone want to modify this image for me and maybe tell me how they did it :-D
Just hit the swap color button in GIMP. It will swap the two colors and then you should achieve what you want.

I am not sure how color swap would give me the effect I am looking for being that the top and bottom start with the same color and then fade into a different single color in the center. If you could elaborate that would be great.

In Gimp got to color menu, then invert. Itll give you three choices as to the method to invert by, and choose the one you want.

invert got me closer to what i am looking for, though using invert gives me the darkest areas in the center. I would rather have the darkest areas at the edges and have it lighten as it moves to the center.
(maybe it is possible using one of the three choices you mentioned but when I went to color and clicked invert it just inverted the colors, no 3 choices)

Did you use invert, or value invert? In either case, after that use the Blend tool to pick a gradient and apply it.

I was playing around with the invert and invert value and they kind seem to do the same thing or at least that is what my eye things. Maybe it is just it looks that way when dealing with the whites and grays that are in that image.
So this is what I've done so far. I think it does a pretty decent job matching the status bar but as you can see for some reason the image isn't flush with the bottom of the screen, any one have some ideas on y this is & how to fix it

Good work, that is really impressive.
Meeglow is a small set of 5 minimal icons based on Meego. The icons come with and without a shadow, and have 3 levels of blur to create a depth-of-field effect. I do recognise this is a very small set, but I am happy to make more if there are any requests
Looking awesome!
These are great!
I would love to see them in a light blue, with the usual phone, message, email options if that would be possible please?
My preference is no shadow, and very little/no blur
Is it possible to put these in a zip file?

Thanks for the comments
# How would you like them done? Would you like them light blue with the red glow, without the glow, or another colour for the glow?
# When you mention the usual phone, message, email options, etc. would you like them as single letters or would you like them done with the big capitalised first letter followed by smaller letters for the remainder of the word?

Sorry for the delay.
I would like the letters as they are but with a light blue glow please.
The idea of for example 'Phone' is awesome
Thank you!

Thanks a bunch for the zip.
Any chance you could do a T, a G, and a V?
Hey my fellow Note9ners,
I realized that if we use the yellow ink for screen off memo and save it, inside samsung notes the white background makes the yellow memo super hard to view.
But if we use white ink for screen off memo, the memo auto invert to black color when inside samsung notes.
I think this makes yellow ink looks like a gimmick
Is there a way to make samsung notes in black background as default?
Not that I've found.
I personally don't care for the yellow anyways, would still love to trade the ugly pen for a black or silver one, but at first I tried to do like you asked and make it so Notes had a black background when saved from screen off memo. No luck. So I just use the white pen color, no biggie since this is how it worked in the past and I usually just jot my note real quick and turn the phone back off.
Think Samsung would have figured this out themselves while making the phone since they went through the trouble of having the pen color match the writing.

Um... but you can also set Notes to save Off Screen notes in black "ink" instead of yellow. So you write yellow on the screen, but it saves as black.

Where do you set that? I've looked in Notes and the S Pen settings, but can't find it.

I don't have that option. I have the T-Mo phone, and I am on the latest update.

As you can see above, the option is there for someone else on t-mobile.
Im on Verizon, btw

OK, it's a Duh! If you turn off the signature color in the S Pen settings, the option to save in black disappears in the Samsung Note settings.
Settings/advanced features/s pen/screen off memo.
You can always make it blue!

This solves my question! At least I can use yellow ink during screen off, and the written notes still visible in Samsung Notes.
Thanks a lot!!
I grabbed the purple one cause I didn't like the clashing colors of the blue and yellow.
The lavender purple color is easy to read on the white memos.
However, my daughter loves the fact that my phone has a drawing utensil and we both wish Samsung just added a color picker and thickness and other brushes.
Is there a way to remove the empty space between the icons (signal, wifi...) and the camera hole punch?
i am also interested about this

What kind of sorcery is that? How did they do it?
the pic above is edited by me in Paint, as an example. Now we just have to find out how to make it happen
