try this :
-unzip the dspmanager.zip
-now browse META-INF\com\google\android----delete the "update-binary" file
-now extract the "update-binary" file from the rom you've installed (META-INF\com\google\android)
-put the extracted "update-binary" into META-INF\com\google\android on the dsp manager
-rezip the dspmanager and flash !
should work !

You have to use a kitchen or autotool to make the zip file. At least i'm pretty sure. Any time i just zip a flashable file it won't flash.
and the download is fine, he just probably had a corrupted file. Redownloading will fix, if not and you're running TWRP then you should clear your /cache and dalvik and reboot recovery then flash.
EDIT: it's not flashing for me either. I think its the zip format because if it read the updater-script and there was an error it'd tell you where the error is. (line and col)

It did install is in my app drawer

Messed up phone after trying to flash

I downloaded cog from rom manager than tried to install it. I remember from flashing rom on my other phone that I had to select reinstall packages a few times. Nothing really changed. I rebooted then went back to rom manager and clicked install rom from sd (not sure if that's exaclty how its worded) I saw the rom but backed out. I booted back into recovery and selected format sd, I'm guessing I shouldn't have done that, now I'm getting a signature error in cwm, also when I select download rom from sd in rom manager I no longer see my download folder. Help please, not sure if any of this make sence.

A little hard to follow, but I would just flash back to stock and go and download CM and place it on your root sd card and just flash through CWM.

I am stock, nothing flashed. The problem I'm having is after I selected format sd card in rom manager (not sure why I did that) I now no longer have a download folder, in other words, if I open root exploror and try and fine my download folder I wont because its not there.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
Just download CM from the DEV section and place it on the root of your sd card. Then power off your phone and 3 button combo into cwm and flash that way.
Cwm tells me when I try and install anything that- E: failed to open /mnt/internal_sd/update.zip (no such file or directory)
E: Signature verification failed, installation aborted. This is the exact message I get in cwm
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA Premium App
How are you trying to install via cwm? Are you selecting the zip file or just clicked install update.zip? Just asking to make sure your doing it the right way.
Ffs it's the blind leading leading the blind.
Op you can't see the folder anymore because format means WIPE so your sdcard is empty now.
And 2 the signature error isn't because if that it's because you are on stock froyo which requires signed update zips. To get around this look here for the 3e recovery thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161102

At first I downloaded the rom from one of the dev pages, I than checked root explore/sdcard/download to make sure it downloaded fine, which it did. I than went to rom manager and booted into recovery, but I didn't see anything about installing from sdcard (which is what I see on my infuse) all I see is reboot, reinstall packages, delete all user data, delete cache data, and format internal sdcard. I selected reinstall packages because when I flashed my first rom on my infuse this step was required. Nothing happeded afterwards but the install didn't error out like its doing now. After nothing changed I than went back to rom manager and went to download rom, found the rom I wanted, selected download. After it downloaded I got an install prompt.I selected wipe data and cache (again, my infuse required this step) after that nothing seemed to change. I went back to rom manage and noticed a section that says install rom from sdcard, I opened that and say a download folder, opened the folder and saw the rom but I back out because I wasn't too sure about that process. I booted back into recovery and for some.dumb reason I clicked format internal and external sdcard. Now I'm getting this error message, and I have no downloads.

I formatted my internal and external sdcards today by mistake, now my download folders are gone, I was tolded this is normal since formatted deletes all data on card which is why my download folder is gone. I've tired downloading rom and modded recovery all day but I cant find them in root exploror anywheres, than I Google a random picuture and tried to save the picture but the download was uncuccessful. Can I fix this?

It sounds like this should be fixable, but could you please provide more information on your current setup (Android version, if it's a custom ROM, etc).
As far as getting ROMs and CWM to your phone, you may want to try downloading the roms/modded recovery on a PC (if one is available), then move them over to your phone. If everything was formatted and you're having trouble using root explorer, it might just be easier to do it that way.
Before today my phone was fine, it displayed downloads that I've done etc. I was trying to install a downloaded rom thru cwm but it didn't display "install from sdcard" with in cwm. I than clicked format sdcard for some dumb reason and It put me in my current state.

I see that you're on your phone now, which answers the question of whether or not you can boot, so that's good. If you've formatted your Internal SD card (which it sounds like you did - did it get rid of all your files on the phone?), you could probably just do a Titanium backup of what you still have and reinstall your ROM (assuming you're on a custom rom). That would likely correct the issue.

Assuming that it wasn't deleted in the format, I'd recommend reflashing whatever rom you're on and restoring your apps from Tibu.
the tibu backup is no more it would have been deleted when he formatted. look in your browsers settings for the default download directory. or make a folder on your sdcard called downloads and set it to there as default....

Yep, my back up is gone. I went to the download directory and all downloads in there say download unsuccessful, I than went to sdcard in root exploror and created a folder named download. I tried saving a few Google pics and they still come up download unsuccessful, I even tried downloading a file from xda and its not in my new download folder. I didn't set it as default since I don't know how to set it, I didn't see any options. Getting very frustrated.

That appeared to work, I saved a random picture and it was saved in my new download folder. But when I try and download the modded e3 signature file (which is what I've been trying to do) I see a quick download meter start and finish, after its done I can select close or open, if I click open I'm brought to rom manager with an install prompt were I can select or de-select a few things, than I'm put into recovery but it dkesnt show any place to install from sdcard. When I had to do this on my infuse once I downloaded the modded recovery it was listed in my downloads, id extract, copy and paste over original recovery but I don't see it anywhere in my captivates files.

If the phone isn't showing up in any way when you hook it up to the computer (i.e. you can't select to mount the phone from the notification drop-down), that would be your option.

You're pasting in the modded 3e recovery I assume, that's in a place usually mounted read only. Using root explorer, there is a little button on the top right that says mount r/w press that THEN paste in.

I'll definetly try this ROM when I got bored with cm10
Miui 2.8.3 was my favorite ROM once up on a time. Still have a hope of getting JB based miui.
@GUNDUL46, @tanuj : did you guys got hands on miui JB...?
guys beware of while creating SD partition from CMW.... take backup before proceeding further as it make your SD card blank.... I lost everything on my mobile SD card .... now trying to recover it .................
be careful to partition your SD.
only use good quality of SD card.
with partition SD you have 3 parts.
1. mmcblk1p1 = fat32 normal external memory
2. mmcblk1p2 = ext4 to change internal memory on /data.
3. mmcblk1p3 = linux swap for swap ram
recommended apps swapper2 or mounts2sd.
if you use swapper2 please change swap partition to /dev/block/mmcblk1p3
only if you have partitioned SD card.

Hi gundul46 I've just flash my friend phone (Axioo Vigo-FIH FBO) using SUTLR to ANDRO-ID-RC3 Rom, and then trying to instal this MIUIv4-2.8.3 rom from Recovery but it's always gave me error which says
E:Can't open /sdcard/MIUI_v4_2.8.3.zip (bad)
Installation aborted.
and when I try to open the zip file from PC it says that the zip file is corrupted
I've try to redownload the ROM but stil get the same result
thanks
The zip you have downloaded is not the good one.
Try redownloading it.
tried this rom~
okay i was hoping for a fix on recording with miui ics
i knew i had a separate app for taking pics (camera ics) and and an app for for recording vids (stock camera pulled from nexus s)
but i was counting more on unifying the two apps together...
so i thought i'd tried this one....
and now some notes regarding this rom
i flashed the 4.2 camera app into this rom and camera, recording and panorama works... sphere fcs... so that's something good
but then a bummer...
theme manager fcs.......
so i replaced the apk with a different one: the one pulled from miui 2.7.20 from comdevx's post
okay now i can apply themes and apply wallpapers...
the only glitch is that Settings > Sound: you get 4 choices for your changing your tones: ringtones, notifications, sms received, sms sent
ringtones took me to the select ringtone activity in themes. and notifications to notifications.....
BUT sms received and sent took me to NOTIFICATIONS... so you can't change those two (the default is FadeIn.ogg which i hate the most)
i'm guessing.... wrong intent?
so i see two workarounds:
1. edit the build.prop, then data-wipe your phone
2. push the specific .ogg file into /data/system/ringtones, though you have to name the file correctly (which idk) also wondering if that would screw your settings or brick your phone
haven't tried those two yet. the best hope is to find a good thememanager.apk that won't screw up when i open it and allow me to edit sms tones.
that's all i should say

[Q] Can't install GAPPS on Nook HD with CM11 Android 4.4.4

Hello all,
This is my first question, and it might have already been answered but I just couldn't figure it out My last resort is to ask here, so thanks in advance for your help.
I just installed CM11 on my Nook HD (see attached image 1) and everything was working fine except for the fact that google apps was opening and then closing immediately. All my pre-CM11 apps were there and working fine. The problem was that when I tried to download new apps, GAPPs was just not working. I wiped out all the info and started from scracth, then tried to install from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 , but just kept on getting error messages (see image 2).
I'm sure my fix is easy, so any suggestions are more than welcome!
Your picture is cut off so it does not show what version of CWM you are trying to flash the gapps package with. What version is it?
It is saying it cannot find the file /system/build.prop. Can you see that file with your file manager?

Hi,
I hope I'm answering properly. I believe the CWM version i'm using is 20140629. I did not find the /system/build.prop file under the file manager, but I was able to navigate to it through the terminal emulator. It's a read-only file.
If this is not the information you were asking for, please let me know and I will get it right away.
Thanks!
That is not what I was looking for for CWM. When CWM is running it says something like "CWM based recovery version 6.0.4.5" at the top of the screen. What does yours say?

CWM-based Recovery for HD SD CM11.0/sgt7 v6.0.4.5

Hey,
Thanks again for the follow up. I was able to figure it out. Every time I was booting up the recovery menu I did it from the SD card instead of the internal memory by holding down the n key. After I did it that way, the gapps package installed with no prob at all. Thanks so much for the effort and we can mark this question solved.
Cheers!
