Hey, so I recently rooted my phone (S-On) and flashed Virtuous Inquisition. Whenever I turn my phone off though, all of my changes to the homescreen or launcher settings are lost. It is as if everything is being reset. All of my apps are still there though (not the shortcuts, but the physical apps themselves). Thanks in advance!

My phone shortcut states: 'Application is not installed on your phone'
I reinstalled the aosp dialer but no love yet.
Same thing here... I was using CM 5.0.5.3, tried to flash Froyo (from Modaco), but there where too many FCs, so I flashed CM 5.0.6 first (everybody says you can flash Froyo on top of this without wiping; I dare not wipe), and then Froyo.
Everything seems to work fine after that, EXCEPT dialer app and contacts app...
No icons for these apps in the App menu and when tapping the new dialer icon of the launcher, I get the massage "Application not installed on your phone"...
I even tried to wipe the cache for these 2 apps with no result.
This cannot be happening to just the two of us, guys, please help!
Did you try clearing defaults? Sounds like somethings not compatible with Froyo, but it doesn't know to go back to the default dialer...
I have your same problem.
The default are clean, but no icon for contacts and dialer, and the button says application not installed....
fix?
Hey guys, I had the same problem after upgrading to MoDaCo r17 from r3.1. Full data wipe fixed this issue for me. (after nandroid backup of course) Hope this helps. Pea's
I just installed Darky's 6.0 ROM. For some reason, all of my Apps in the menu are not in alphabetical order when using "Grid view". I've tried resetting and clearing data of the twlauncher, to no avail.
Does anyone know how I can re-organize the Apps alphabetically without having to manually move them? I don't like using LauncherPro etc. I prefer using the original twlauncher.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Did you ever figure this out? i have the same query and its doing my head in!

Answer the rom you installed most likely broke something or has bug .

Evening All.
I have not long since got my HTC One (UK version of it makes any difference).
It is S-Off, bootlooader unlocked and rooted with TWRP 2.6.3 recovery but currently running stock firmware. I've had a play with ARHD and liked it. However it's a bit of a nause having to re download apps every time I update. The internet were I am is very slow so this takes time.
I know backup solutions exist however I get conflicting reports about the apps. Having come from an iPhone (which I still use as a work phone) I am looking for a backup solution that with either a brand new phone or a factory reset and a new/custom Rom I just hit restore and it puts all my apps data and settings as it was when I backed up. Including things like my layout in widget locker and nova launcher.
I was going to be using helium but then read that you still have to download the APK for all the apps again from Google so that seems a pretty defunct choice.
It's there an app which will backup my phone, I can remove this to my laptop. Then factory reset, reinstall the app (I'm assuming you have to do this) and then I put the backup back on the phone and restore it?
Cloud options are no use due to the slow internet.
Apologies if this has been covered before but I just can't seem to find a definitive answer.
Thanks in advance.

heyho. some days ago i flashed a moded xperia home from this forum, it was one of this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535413
well.. i cant explain why, but after the flashing the launcher was gone. i still have my go launcher
to get the launcher back, i installed it via an apk from this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504275
first, it works fine. i installed a xposed module to edit the snap-to-grid size and rebooted my phone, after this i was able to mod it. everything was fine until the next reboot -> my launcher was reseted. not the mods, like the s-t-g size. but all my "custom" widgets and icons were gone and was replaced by the defaults. that happens now after every reboot, no matter what i do.
can anyone help me to find a solution for this problem, without reflashing my XZ1, thats running stock 4.3 deadexd and rooted with recovery?
thx for the help
Hi!
I have a rooted Sony Xperia Z, Jellybean 4.3. I am having trouble setting a security lock for my screen. The problem started after I uninstalled the Cyanogen mod on my phone and reverted it back to stock firmware. I re-rooted my device afterwards, using the exact same method I had used before installing the Cyanogen mod (following instructions from Doomlords CWM-based recovery and rooting thread). Now the root works just fine, every other aspect of my phone is working like a dream except for the security lock.
Here is what I do:
Settings > Security > Screen lock > Pattern
I have tried all other locks including PIN and Password but every time I press enter after putting in my pattern/PIN/password, the screen lock does not change from 'Swipe'. My screen lock was working fine on my rooted phone before I installed Cyanogen mod and while it was installed. However, now it seems to be broken.
Is there anything I can do or try to fix this? Thanks a lot for reading and I look forward to your replies!
P.S. I don't really want to install any apps that have a third-party locking system, I would just like to be able to lock my phone as I have usually done it
Do a backup of necessary apps and everithing what is for you necessary, next step is to do factory reset and then fresh install of your rom
Hmm, is that my only option? Is there root application (or any application) I can install that locks my phone in a similar way? That would be more convenient!
