Well, i just have a feeling that the total happy modding flashing days of the IncS is coming to an end
Every day i check these forums & the quantity of posts have diminished, not much development either.
i guess the last stop would be the ICS official release (if it happens) post which am certain there won't be any further updates for the IncS...
the shelf life of the phone seems just to be over a year...
all good things must come to an end
and that makes me quite unhappy
Well, if you saw the evo 3d had no action, and the ics leak brought it back to life
Hopefully that will happen to us, but it seems more and more people are selling and buying something else :/
Still, looking forward to a stable sense 4
Once ics is released things will pop back to life. No one wants to spend time on an old os. It's much much simpler to mod a official release than a ported one. All I want is a senseless version of the official with trebuchet and ill be happy.

I agreed with you about the senseless version. IMO, ICS default launcher is better than sense.
I hate the way they classify "denied-call" into "missed call". We got it, not missed it.

LOL so much hatred for sense
I like sense
I like the launcher, the nice animations and the features it adds
I honestly can't wait for a working sense 4 rom
Anyone with me, or am I on my own?
1000% here with you mate.
Don't mistake me, i really love sense...
I never have used a 'sense-less' rom except for IceCold...
I have tried cm7, miui, icecold sandwich
All of them weren't on my phone for more than a week
And thanks for being so with me on this, 1000% is a lot
Dude sense all the way... Or why would I spend the extra money buying HTC device instead of nexus s... Sense is beautiful!!

True, but I bought a HTC over a samsung initially because of not only sense, but the fact that it has more ram. 768mb is more than enough for ics
Whats the "Plus" in sense:
-The animations that you wont get in any other Android mobiles like Samsung, LG etc..
-Launcher looks
- Extras like Weather animations. (That made my friend who has a S2 jealous of me)
- HTC sense integration with internet.
- There are many other plus point in sense.
Minus: It makes the phone lag sometimes. But i never experienced the lag. I see my phone lagging only when i try to play a 720p movie and i try to skip some scenes it takes some time to load which didnt happen in Sense-Less ROM's.
Love sense too can't wait to get sense 4.0

I love Sense but after using ICS i just cant go back to Gingerbread. The Appdrawer and notifications are just so much better on ICS
And to the original topic, Miui no longer supports incredible S so in a way thats sign. But once official ICS comes out I have a feeling development will spring to life again.

Do you think that HTC Incredible S will get official update to Andorid 2.3.5?
Sense 3 you mean?
It should considering the desire s already has...
If it doesn't this will be my last HTC.
I run cm 7.1 anyway but regardless I don't like companies that don't support their products.
Yes, I mean also Sense 3.0
I ask because on this list is not. (htc-hub.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/previsions-mise-a-jour-sfr-android.png)

I would think they will update but it will not be the full version of sense since it slows down even fast phones to a crawl.

I hope HTC will release 2.3.5 with HTC Sense 3.5.
For now, I'm using Enhab ROM.
i can't understand also why they didn't upgrade Incredible S, its not as if it's an obsolete phone already.
Right, It's still a good phone.

Fk that...
Why would anyone not want hardware acceleration?
See your point.
I am just so impatient. Got bored of sense 2.1, sense 3 looks so good.
I know I could use custom roms, but promised myself that I will keep a stock rom on my phone.
Had the Hd2, spent so much time trying new roms, unfortunately none of them gave an out of the box exprience, that is the reason I sold it. No root this time.

Well for me I have put custom Roms on and so far only cyabogenmod works, if it didn't work then my phone would be paperweight. I can't go back to stock rom either which sucks but I'm sure ill find a way. Its because I did an ota update and its updated my hboot and now when I go back to stock its too old and not compatible

Saw the cool video on sense 4.0. Of course I want it. What do you guys think? Will HTC give it to us with the ICS update, or will they save it for newer phones?
That is up in the air still. The Sensation and a few others have had ics leaks but with 3.5. I hope we get 4.0, but everyone is saying to not count on it.

It wouldn't be the first time that HTC didn't give old phones the new version of Sense (EVO), but I hope otherwise. It doesn't make sense to me for them to spend so much time making 3.0 and 3.5 work with ICS when they could just focus on 4.0 and release it to all.
Of course, 4.0 could require more storage and more powerful hardware that some phones just can't match, but current generation phones should be able to run it fine.
The Sensation is getting ICS with Sense 3.6 not 3.5, so there might not be a Sense 4.0 for ICS but 3.6 looks totally different to 3.5, it might be just as nice.

There is a Sense 4.0 for ICS. There's a video floating around of it in action.
just saw it. not much different from 3.6, until its compared side by side and the differences listed, then we can bring out the pitch forks and torches and rally up on HTC again and demand 4.0
Sense 4.0 is not only cool but it gives you benefits like 50 gigs of Dropbox storage. I sure hope the vivid gets the new sense and it better come with the benefits

than we probably wont as htc is factory in that drop box space in the cost of a phone .
also we will get it eventually google mandated that oem support phones for 18 months after release with android updates , so dont worry. what really is killing the release time is one htc like SE is probably coding ICS for MSM platforms by them selves without googles help and 2 carrier validation (which takes a month or two min )

If you need USB tethering - you can't install any Sense ROMs, because they're not fully functional on N1 for a couple of years soon.
If you want fully functional Sense - your best bet is selling N1 and getting some other older generation phone that originally came with Sense.

thats a good idea tnx my friend
If you're going to do that - I can suggest moving at least one generation forward to one of the following - Desire HD / Desire S / Mytouch 4G. Fully functional Sense 3.0 and 3.5 exists for all of those, and soon Sense 4A is officially scheduled to come soon to both Desire HD and Desire S, and will most likely be ported with 100% functionality to MyTouch 4G. These phones have more powerful CPU and much more powerful GPU than Nexus One, A LOT more internal storage, and they can be found for under $200 these days, and for $300 you can have new HTC One V which is on par with them by specs (though having a bit less RAM - doesn't really matter). This phone configuration (MSM8255-based) still exists after 2 years, which tells how successful it was and still is.

find a fully working version of ICS for the IncS then we'll think about JellyBean.
ICS been out since last year, only until recently we've seen some better roms on xda, i'd give it till next yr for JellyBean if anyone is still developing for the IncS then.
This might make HTC release the source faster when they realize that they are updating to an old os

I think it's strange we dont have an official CM9 nightlies for our phone
there's loads of unpopular **** phones that have it ...
I'm guessing we're still struggling with hacking the proprietary camera and graphics drivers in our phone. The only 99% stable ICS roms i've found are the Sense 4.0 roms (and even those FC when trying to take pictures at max res). I much prefer AOSP, but it crashes too often when using graphics intensive applications.

Samsung galaxy tab 1 and 2 has official CM9 and both don't have ICS sources
the 7" tab1 is gingerbread oficially, but remarkably everything works in CM9
The 10.1 inch tab 2 (GT-P7100) is honeycomb and in CM9 the camera doesn't work
So your statement seems invalid ...
Am I the only one working on this, or does anyone want to join me on IRC? Dev help only, there won't be any test files or anything to flash, so there is no use saying "Yeah I'll come in!" if you just want a file to install, I need someone who can help with making the right edits to the init files, cause after 5 versions I can't get past the bootsplash.

lol nice
but I'm wondering why you'd go AOSP on this... the allure of this phone is the Zoe camera, the sense 5.0, and then software features... otherwise it's just a nice phone with a good design
I love AOSP and all, but stock experience is something I'd rather have on a phone with crappy UI (like the RAZR HD).
I love sense tbh, and ideally I'd like a de-sensed Rom, so I can keep the camera and such, but I think aosp looks soo much nicer, it's soo clean and smooth, and you can also get the newest features without having to wait months for HTC

Not for me. The allure of this device is it's hardware (CPU/GPU, metal unibody design, etc). I could care less about the camera since I rarely take pictures. And you can get cutting edge software enhancements that the OEMs can't/won't supply you with CM10.1.
If they come out with a VZW version, that's the first thing I'm going to do, is try and get CM10.1 on it (maybe at CM11 by this time).
