Hello all, I come to you with my problem. I recently found my Nexus One, which would not turn on at all' another problem that I had with it before this is the USB port is hopelessly broken. I ordered a new battery for it, since I thought that to be the problem. Turns out that wasnt it, I even have a battery charger, so it couldn't have been that. So long story short, I have a Nexus One w/ a broken charging port, a battery charger to charge the brand new battery, and it still won't turn on. Any suggestions on what could be wrong/how to turn it on?
did u try the battery trick?

My USB port is completely broken, I can't plug it in to charge, doesn't the battery trick require it be charging?
oops sry. it does require a working usb port. are you pretty sure that your battery is working good?
did you try pushing the power button a bit hard?

Ah yes, forgot to add that I purchased a new battery also, as I thought that the original battery was the problem.

Hey guys,
I connected my phone to my PC over night for charging as always but when I got up and took my phone it only had 4% battery! It's like the battery just wiped itself from a moment to the other. And now when I try to charge it again the light shows it charges but when I turn on my phone after 30min the battery didn't charge at all... Did anyone experience this before? Do I have to buy a new battery?
Sounds like your battery is shot. So you may need a different battery.
Try different cables etc but if that doesn't work you need a New battery.

Tried a few cables. Weird thing though: In recovery it says 32% and when I boot it up now it says 9% but doesn't really change. Seems like the battery is screwed up... Could it be that the Desire HD has got the exact same battery? Because if it's so I could try with the battery from my dad's DHD...
EDIT: Ok, it's not the same This is gonna be expensive...
EDIT2: So I got my new battery but the phone still drains too fast imo and I can't really charge the battery to 100%... Is sth wrong with the USB-port??

This might help.
Let your battery drain completely and let your cell get switched off.
And then in switched off state, charge your phone completely.
Switch it on...Use your cell as you do it regularly.
Repeat this procedure 3-4 times.
You will be surely benefitted.
did you try plugging into the wall? different USB port?
I had similar issue awhile back that it didn't want to charge with USB but with the AC adapter it worked fine. Also noticed it wouldn't work with USB at all I sent it in for repair and it was apparently USB port broken. Then I had to send it in again because when they fixed usb they broke mainboard
p.s omg I hate captcha tried posting this 10 times ...
Looks like I forgot to post So here is what happened: I got a new battery but even that I couldn't charge with USB. Than I pulled out my AC adapter and it works fine now. Looks like my USB Port is shot but since it still works and just won't charge my phone, I'll ignore that. But my old battery was surely shot because I couldn't even charge it with AC adapter...
Sorry if this seems a little late. It could be the roms fault you are getting strange readings. When I use ice cold and reboot my phone, the battery percentage reading changes like crazy. Sometimes the reboot makes the reading go up, and sometimes down.
USB port breaking is a common fault on inc s, though, so it could be that also, as you have said.
I tried ar least 5 different ROMs so I'm pretty sure that's not it That was also the first thing that came into my mind;D
Have u checked the charger plug cos if its that stupid black charger that comes with the phone they can play up my old one does this and I have to twist it slightly for the pins to touch try a apple charger or another USB charger

Tried enough cables and stuff to know my position and my old htc cable already screwed up a long time ago

I have a htc vivid and the original wire is just about shot and I have to wiggle it into place to get it to charge and sometimes when I go into the secret menu it only says "charging via usb" and it charges slower and with the screen on and using the phone while charging it can get REAL hot, to the point of it not being able to touch or hold in my hand, I tried 4 other micro usb cables and only one of them seem to work in my vivid but won't charge as "ac" just as Usb like the original wire that came from the phone, I borrowed a buddy's cable and same exact thing, what should I do, I just have my vivid until the htc one comes out, and I can't relay on the phone, I can charge it overnight and wake up to only a 34% battery and when I do get it to 100% (very rare) it dyes faster than usual and especially since Wildchid's Sense 4.1 beta gets GREAT battery life...
What do I need to do? buy a new cable, buy a new charger port, anyone who could help I would greatly appreciate it.
Start with a new cable... I used a crap cable and found just before a battery gives up... the orange led will flash real fast... scared the hell out me
I was plugged in and losing...

One day I was away from home and my battery was low. So I had to use a Sony Xperia charger. But now my phone has problems charge.
problems such as:
-it won't charge
-it only charges to 50%
-the charge cuts in and out
-I have to leave it still or it won't charge.
Has anyone had these problems occur. This is really annoying and I would like to find a solution ASAP
*and the only charger that doesn't cause this problem is ny nexus 7 charger. But I don't want to use it. Because when I tried it, it said it's not compatible and will damage my device.

Unfortunately it sounds like the micro USB connector port may be partially broken. Did you try a different USB cable with the stock charger?

Sorry, that was my only work around. I think you need to get the hardware repaired.

If your phone is charging half way through then It should not be the connector. Try charging through the use if laptop. Try clearing the battery stats if rooted else back up your phone and try restoring it to factory settings.

HI
greetings,
I think its a hardware problem
might be the micro usb port of the cable has to do something
try any of your friends htc cable and plug and see if the problem exist then its not the cable but the phone ....
best way is to take your phone to htc service centre
Hi,
My IncS has started playing up over the past week or so.
Every night now, when I get up in the morning I have to remove the battery from the phone and power it back up as it has totally frozen.
Another weird thing is the battery is normally really drained once I have it powered back up. Doesn't have any problems during the day at all, never freezes or anything but overnight when it is plugged in to charge,it dies.
I've tried replacing the battery (I had a spare) as it only happens when mains charging and, like I said, when it is turned back on the battery is substantially lower then when it was plugged in but that didn't help.
I tried totally wiping the phone and installing a new ROM (szeszo's lovely new cyanogen with his Tesco kernal) and it is still happening...
Anyone else experienced this? Any idea what's caused it? And finally, does anyone know a way I can do so kind of logs about what is going on?
Thanks...
I had the same issue too. Was USB connector related. Had to sent my device to htc repair

Interesting! Maybe I'll have it apart and resolder the connections... see if that helps. Thanks for the info

Try a different USB cable on the charger

Unfortunately it didn't turn out to be the USB port or cable. Thanks for the suggestions though.
It started freezing when it wasn't plugged in at all and it was doing my nut in...
Yesterday I bought a Note 2 and it gets delivered today. I know, it's huge and I'll probably end up selling it on when I get fed up of having to carry it round in a wheel barrow
It is such a damn shame to be putting the IncS to sleep at last. It's been a damn good phone for a long time (probably the longest I've ever used 1 phone for!). Somehow I can't imaging the Note being as well made as this was. The moment HTC do a Nexus phone I'll be selling whatever I have and buying up cos that will be awesome.
Anyway, guess I'll be off to the Note forums now.
Later guys, and thanks...
Hi has anyone had issues with their mophie juice pack? I bought a brand new one straight from mophie and when I put it on, my phone starts spazzing out. It takes screenshots randomly and the lights keep blinking on the bottom and it tries to restart itself. I thought the mophie was defective so they sent me another one and it still does the same thing! Anyone else had issues with this? My HTC is 100% stock.
Yeah they're **** and Mophie is aware of it. Mine would just not charge the phone lol. I had to put the case on the phone flip the switch to "On" plug the charger into the case then unlpug, then it would start charging lol. Idk they're weird.
have not had any issues with mine like that. I occasionally get a message about only using the supplied charger to charge your device.

So is it mophie's fault or htc's fault?
Also, is there anything wrong with using another micro-USB cable to charge the phone? Why does that message pop up about not using the stock charger? I didn't think that anything bad could happen to it.

I Would imangine that the fault falls under mophie's as they should've test it throughly.
Also its recommended that you use the charger it comes with because stock adapters/chargers provide the right amount of power to charge the phone. Sometimes A/C adapters (and USB cables) from other phones send out less or more juice then the phone needs. Less juice longer charge time, more juice fast charge times but ofcourse this coems with a risk because you can also damage your battery with lot more juice. For example its not recommended to use a Note 2/3 adapter with an Evo LTE cause it can possible short the battery. Me i only use the OEM charger HTC for HTC Phones Samsung for Samsung Phones Etc. unless im out and about then im using my external battery. Also from Personal Experiance with my Evo Lte it took longer to charger with the note 2 USB cable (Note 2 USB with HTC adapter) then it did with the HTC USB/adapter. I also have a wall outlet with one outlet and 2 USB ports also takes longer to charge having my HTC USB pluged in (i dunno why). so i charge using the HTC Charger (again unless im out and about then i use my external battery).

I Actually remember reading a few years back the samsung USB's would charge samsung phones perectly fine but charged other with less power. dunno how true that was.
