I wish Samsung would give us an idea of timescales for these things. I am only waiting for the release so the AOKP and CM9 teams can get the cameras working and increase 3D performance

Is there any recommended 2.3 upgrade here for Samsung Galaxy S or is everyone just waiting for the official release?
Thx.
There's the CM7 beta. Although it's only recommended for advanced users, or at least those that can recover a bricked phone.
I guess everyone is waiting for the official release of 2.3, and thats where the fun will start, custom roms running on 2.3!
what can we expect from jb.
because today the source are released
would it be faster to get it working on our lg optimus black than ics?
i hope this topic will be more on-topic

I would hope if it's not LG. Now, they will start producing JB devices . ICS is becoming GB v2????
By reading some of the thread here, the devs prefer having a stable ICS first since JB is based from ICS.
In my opinion they are right, because jumping into JB will be much harder than ICS... so until the devs finishes a stable ICS, JB will surely follow.
although in this thread:

He is trying his best to let JB work.
Hi,
I saw on internet news that Samsung has started to enable again ICS update for Galaxy note N7000, since 11th July.
the update were removed, after it was official that this update could brick the Note.
does it mean that this update is reliable now ?
(I am talking about the bug which could brick the Galaxy note when doing a wipe in recovery mode, when installing new ROM...)
or it is still a big issue, and we should still wait for a fix ?
thanks.

Samsung has still not fixed the issue & is still very well under development. In case of any official solution from Samsung the same shall be highlighted throughout the forum. So have patience & dont try to wipe in recovey if you are on Stock ICS Kernel.
Until Samsung's has recognized the issue and has given an official statement or has release some form of a fix officially, then that'll be the time the ICS update is as reliable as it is being release already.
Until then, if Sammy is still mum and silent about it... No ICS update is as reliable as ever.
Hello,
thank you for the clarification.
I will wait.
)
Thanks
Olivier
Hey, again, i'm a pretty newb and i still couldn't manage to find any Jellybean ROM or port to Samsung Galaxy Plus. Are there any news about CyanogenMod 10 being ported to Samsung Galaxy S Plus?
Maybe there's a ROM already (stable with possibility to be flashed with odin would be good)?
Thank's

development is going on the cyanogenmod for our device if it gets ported successfully there will be great chances for future upgrades too like cm for android 5.0 etc. so wait for the same :fingers-crossed: ....beyond that there is no straightforward work going on porting the stock android 4.2
Sources for the novathor are unavailable. So no.
