i have been using my note for about three weeks now.. but for the past two weeks, i noticed that when i lock my note, it automatically opens.. it's like im pressing the home button.. then the screen will sleep then open again and again.. what will i do??
Hello
Is your note original not rooted?
Try factory reset!
Home button volume up and power button.
Hold it for a few seconds.
Than you are in recovery and select factory reset.
how will i do that?? it's original not rooted
No problem
just hold power and home and volume up together for a few seconds.
You will come in recovery and select factory reset.
and when finish reboot.
then all my files will be deleted?? i just rebooted it then it stopped opening it self.. when it happened again i will reset it just like you said.. thanks for the help
Its normal that you have to install all again because
a factory reset will wipe all applications
Nice only reboot and good again
thanks for the help

Hey guys, I have a dead pixel on the screen and I'm going to have to send it back in for another one. But I've tried to do a factory reset like 5 times, whatever the reason.. android and root still remain on the device, has anyone ran into this problem before?
Have you done both the 8X reset and the 3 button data reset?
Power button, volume up and the N button must be held down at the same time.
I use to think the 3 button reset was the same thing as a reformat, they are not. To bring the device back to factory condition you have to first do the adb reset (or interrupt the boot 8 times) and then do the 3 button reset.

Hey Guys,
After downloading the newest OTA-Update for my Note, it rebooted itself and is now stuck in the boot animation. I only hear the Samsung-Jingle once, but after that it keeps playing the animation over and over. I plugged the Note in and let it go all night, thinking it was part of the upgrade, but this morning it was still looping. I am not using a Root or Custom Rom - this is all stock.
I would appreciate any pointers and insight! Thanks.
Try booting to recovery (volume up + home + power) and do factory reset and wip cache.
Thanks for the reply.
I tried the VolumeUp-Home-Power: The phone will start, I can see the little Android with the status bar, but then it just moves on to the regular boot animation and I am right back in the loop.
Takes a Couple of tries, otherwise try download mode, volume button down, home button and power button. Then connect to PC and flash stockrom with odin.
Its tricky getting it right. Turn off phone, turn on and emediately press the button combos.
From recovery you can do a factory reset or clear dalvicc cache. Clearing this cache solved most of my bootloops.

Pull the battery out and put back in after 3-5 secs. Hold VolumeUp + Home + Power till u can see "Galaxy Note N7000" screen. then it ll boot in Recovery mode. here u can do "wipe / Factory Reset" and "Wipe cache". then after Just select Reboot.
This method should work. if you unable to get into recovery mode, then i guess something went wrong with OTA update. So you have to flash the Official ROM using PC Odin. You can find link to update Official ROM in my signature.
Just received my phone today and it was okay for a while and now it just reboots it self.
Try do the hard reset first. Turn off, press volume up + menu button + power button together. Follow the instructions from there.

It is rebooting quicker than I can factory reset it.

When you have a sd-card installed:
... try to turn it off and remove the sd-card, wait for about 3 minutes and boot again. There is a little change, that you run into a bootloop:
a) depending on too many apps installed on the sd-card
or
b) that your sd-card gets to hot, so the system reboots by itself
Greetings

Sometimes Power button only functions for screen off.
Holding the power button doesn't show any menu and i cannot take screenshots when this happens..
I restart the phone from the back hole... but then again after about 2 days power button stops working
Phone Status:
Bootloader Locked..
Rooted... but this problem occurred even when the phone wasn't rooted
Any solution ??//

Tried factory reset? And what Android version are you running? Possible hardware issue?

try this bro.. install a recovery (CWM recovery)
1. enter recovery.
2. wipe cache.
3. wipe dalvik cache.
4. wipe data/factory reset.
5. reboot.
for screenshot try.. volume down+power button at same time...
