Since I finally managed to upgrade to ICS I've found I'm unable to screenshot anymore. Either vol - & power button or via S Pen.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance guys.
Holding down the S-Pen button double tap and hold...atleast on stock. Im on a custom again.

Well, you have to hold the back key and the home key (center button). After that you'll hear a camera shutter sound and your screenshot will be stored in the gallery.

Hi, I have just root my vivid, but I found I can't take screenshots by pressing either power+home or power+vol.- . is there any other hot keys? Thanks.
One more to ask, is it possible for me to unroot the device and run HTC Sense again? Thanks again for reply.
You have to hold power an volume down for a little bit

Works fine for me?

Hm. Hold the power button and home button should work. If it doesn't you can always use a third party app to do it.
Can anyone advise how to capture a screen shot?.
Thanks

Hold down the volume down button and the power button at the same time

Hey got ya covered.. . its kinda tricky but you hold down power button first and than quickly press volume down button. if that doesnt work hold down power button and quickly tap the home button at the bottom (second option has worked for me about 7 times already)
Power and home button.

Actually the volume button works fine. Thats how ive been getting screenshots, holding power and vol down.
Using the volume button actually gives you a nifty preview/quick link in your notification panel as well

So you can do it both ways? That is so weird. why multiple ways to screenshot. BTW screenshots don't work, even with root.

Im stock rooted and both work. I use the volume as it gives me a quick link to open it.

Power and Home button is the only way I can do it, unless I'm missing something.

You have to hold both the power and volume for a second. Im absolutely stock rooted, and Im going to assume the couple of roms out havent taken out the feature, so it should work on everything.

The power+home is much quicker, but like I said, I like the quick link/preview.

He hit it right on the nail. HTC includes both the stick android method for screen shots and they include their own method which most of us use. The sense method is faster but the stock gives u a preview and it appears in the notification bar. Power+vol. Down is the stock and power+home is the sense method. Both should work straight out of the box if not then ur timing is off

My s3 seems to have a power button problem. The phone boots on and works perfectly. But if I tap the rear of the mack plastic, next to the power button, I get the power menu. Any tips?
Thanks guys.

Dirt around the switch, carefully clean and all should be well... :good:
I removed the power button and cleaned everything out. Nothing worked so far. My power button seems to be very lose. Maybe a replacement?

Obvioisly loose. Its defenitly not intended to pick the power button out unless you screwed the cover away and void varranty.
The button will probably soon be gone for ever.
It sound like the feathery effect is gone. In the near future you have to send it in

I was chatting with a friend of mine who had the same problem, he removed the switch then use a little piece of double sided sellotape to bulk out the switch.
He then put it back together and it has been running for four months with no issues :fingers-crossed:
Hope you could fix it..
