Not sure, but that usually happens when you try to install a app for ics on gb...
The app is not supported in your ROM.

I was just wondering that he downloaded it from the market. Had the app not been compatible , it would have never showed up in the market aka Play Store.
There might be some other issue(s)

He did not mention not using market enabler. He said it happens usually while installing apps for ICS at GB - that sure is a compatibility issue
Actually something wrong with the installation... if that happening to any app you maybe should try another version of the market.
did this happend suddently?
Are you sure you have good internet connection?
Are you sure you have enough free space??

There won't be any parsing problem with free space or internet speed :/
If the app is written for a higher system as your one you'll get this error. This might be because your system(andoid-version), hardware( ARMv6 instead ARMv7) or rom does not support the app.
Sorry for my bad school english.

You can compile with a higher sdk and still target lower devices, the key is to to define the minSdkVersion in the manifest and ensure the compatibility with lower api levels
just found it on google
1. Change the required API level tag android:minSdkVersion from the manifest file
2. or remove the required API level tag android:minSdkVersion.
ex:
Edit your manifest file which contains the line
uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="11"
Click to collapse
to
uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7"
Click to collapse
or whatever is preferrable for you.
AckeflyRyzle , i can't get it
This also happens if the package apk is corrupted.
Haaaaaa!!!!???

I have been facing this very same damn prompt as well but not from the apps downloaded from the Google play but with a few of the ones I downloaded from the torrent sites and so I have been following this thread but I swear reading your reply I could see a spring flying out of my left ear and bouncing against the wall!
Can you please elaborate on what you said a bit more!? I have absolutely no idea what did that one even meant! but strangely I am up fro learning it so if you may be so kind as to point me to the right direction I would appreciate that!
Did you try installing the package a second time?
Parsing errors can happen because of memory management problems too..
Sometimes just trying to reinstall the apk works fine..
Try to redownload. The parsing error occurs when the apk is corrupt. I know it from experience. If you have incompatible Android, it will only state "Not installed"
Hope I helped
redownload
or goto ics/jb

Is it? I just searched for Blockbuster, didn't find it.
It was published to the Android Market by Blockbuster on accident, apparently it has to be optimized for each device so they pulled it. I installed it but I haven't tried it at all.

Hi,
I have seen that some people have posted the latest version of the Android Market (2.2.6) as an apk file.
My questions are:
- If it will this work on DHD and correctly overwrite the old Market app and the market update utility ?
- Is installing the app this way legal ?
So anyway I did install it and it works fine.
A much needed upgrade.
I believe you can use this new market .apk file without problems, but I've read that a new official update is cooming soon, so if you doubtful if it's illegal, just wait.
It is working well here. If anyone wants it
Taken from here
Go to Settings>Applications>Mange Applications>Market>Clear Data... then install.
For some reasson I can't update it =(...
Wiped old market installed fine

Uhhh for me it seems to be the other way around :S! The new one loads almost instantly, the old one took a few more seconds.
cud my longer start-up time be related to the fact that i downloaded the apk file from here and installed the update manually ?
Thanks for the post.
Runs perfectly on my DHD. Better than the old version actually. A very welcome market update.

Is the new Market here in this thread for rooted phones?
I can download and search for the apps fine but once it's actually installing, the package installer is stuck.
Download and install a previous version of Aptoide. The same problem you describe, appeared on me with the latest version of Aptoide.

For Aptoide, not. You must however, enable the "unknown packages" option in the Settings\Security panel.
i have the same problem
this problem is caused by aptoide , in the new versione the file downloaded havent .apk extension and the installer doesn't work
if rename the file EXAMPLE in EXAMPLE.apk the installer works correctly but u have to do this with all the application downloaded :/
i want to try to modify to rename the file with extension
Is there an app that's similar or better than aptoide?

Aptoide is the best cydia-like app we have in Android. That's the end of it. If anyone else is experiencing installation problems with the latest versions of Aptoide, all he has to do is simply install an older version of Aptoide. It may be simpler in looks, but, most importantly, it WORKS!

Do the apps update themselves on aptoide or do you have to install the latest one whenever it comes out?
Does anyone know where to install an old version of aptoide? Whenever I try, it always gives me 4.0
Works fine fir me, after upgrading to 4.0 just delete the .aptoide folder then stop the app and clear data in app settings.
Relaunch let it add the default repo and any updating onstalls fine...

Maybe the latest version of YouTube is not supported or completely unstable in the stock éclair ROM so I recommend you to search the Web for older version of YouTube in APK file format its totally free!
Because the latest version of YouTube app is needed the Google play services to run. That's maybe the point.

Youtube problem
Was this fixed? I also have the same problem. I'm using Sky Vega a820L (Korean Android phone), rooted, MIUI rom, and lately after updating my youtube app the thumbnails began not to show anymore and every time i open it it pops with the same error "there was a problem starting up. Please check your network connection and system time."
I have tried the following solutions (see below) but it never worked:
- clear cache
- clear data
- un-install/re-install app
- downloaded different versions (apk file)
please help! :crying::crying::crying:
Had the same problem on the stock version...
- tried to install Youtube for froyo !
- tried different time settings
- Changed DNS
I think the problem is relied to this version and Google servers. Because, sometimes without doing nothing, Youtube works again !!
We can say this issue is solved now :
if it's not relied to time (cause of certificate validity..) or connection problem.
Try to verify these things :
1- Check if you are using any firewall app witch may be blocking Youtube or some of google servers... Allow it
2- Like many mobile geeks, I'm sure you are using an Ad-blocking app like Adaway, disable it to restore original hosts status..
If it solved the issue,
You need to apply new filters again, and edit the hosts file that you can find in /system/etc
And remove any ads server relied to youtube or Google
Google sucks for this ! Good luck
I am currently using LiGUX + N.O.P.E. Kernel V2.6.
I found one problem and maybe someone can help me.
I cannot install an application from Google market.
There is a cross mark and message "This item is not compatible with your device".
But earlier when I used CyanogenMod10 BUILD #3 + N.O.P.E. Kernel V2.6. or at begin with stock ROM I have nothing problem use this application.
If I am using Market helper to hide my device, then I can install this application, but cannot run. In this case is error something like "missing library".
Any suggestion or idea what to do?

You Can try Warriors Method but here is a explanation!
The Gplay Store Reads the build prop file so if there is modifications to it that the app doesn't support Google play will say NO!
I would try editing the build.prop file

This is caused by missing dependencies. Check the thread for Codename Lungo, I explain the steps to get it fixed. It'll be useful if you can tell which app is giving you trouble.

I see, it uses location-aware dependencies. First make sure you have Google Maps and Google Search installed. Then try deleting the cache of Play Store, reboot and try again. If it's still not working then try the steps in the Codename Lungo thread.

Yes. That should fix it. I need to edit that post because it's missing a few steps:
A) You need to have Google Maps and Google Search installed.
B) After you extract the file to the Permissions folder, assign same r/w permissions.
3) After you complete the steps, clear Play Store cache and then reboot.
Let me know if you need more help.
