It's all preference. I tried all of them, but I like the simplicity and stability of what you have now.
You must read this: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...dwich-4-0-x-for-samsung-galaxy-s-gt-i9000.83/
Dude akshaye if u want best then try elite 1.2 its a completely different experience . I am sure on any other rom ( I have tried All possible roms) this smoothness is nowhere but only on elite rom... heavenly smooth and amazing battery... perfect to be used in daily life as it is bug free

Best ICS ever.
I've used many roms ICS but it might crash or fail some case.
But this rom is perfect for me CleanICS1.0.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552124
Hope it's work for you too.
its all preference and what you are trying to accomplish!
Have tried CM9,onecosmic,slimics,docmaster...in all cm9 is the perfect til now....today trying infinitum ,aokp,ics333,gamerzrom,darkkningt,gummy within the next few days...and tell you...
Best ROM I've found untill now
Well, for me, the best one is Anarkia ROM, which is based on AOKP (for now build 35 (v. 0.3.1) because build 36 is not finished yet...).
But that is only my opinion. I love this high resolution (it is 160 dpi).
But, if you want pure ICS experience, try AOKP.
Also, with those ROMs, I get great battery life (almost 2 days with moderate use), I don't have problems with instalation-don't need to flash GB ROM, and then ICS ROM like in almost all other ROMs, and works great- it is my daily ROM.
I've been using pure AOKP/Anarkia ROM for a month now, and don't have problems. Transfer speed is great, but I haven't tried TV out even though people say that it works.
Here are links:

or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524108
&
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1579813
And, yes, I've tried almost every ICS ROM for SGS except gummy, and these two are the best (for me)...
Edit: For those who would like to see how this ROM I have looks like, here are some picts...

rom
my best rom is slim ics its amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess the ones mentioned here:
http ://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554621
I use ICSSGS and I love it. Don't get slim ics. I only has problems with it
Tiny bugs and glitches let it down. Also I had a problem with my SIM. Use ICSSGS with devil kernel.
i know mine one may be an "out of the line" opinion, but for me, onecosmic 3.1 is best ics rom out there. It has some bugs:
- can't install chrome from the market (but it works installing it from the apk)
- .apk bluetooth transfer are not allowed (just change the extension in .jpg and change it back once is on the phone)
- other minor, not important to me, bugs.
But the battery life... well, this is unrivaled under that point of view, and since the battery of the modern smartphones just sucks...
onecosmic IS ISCSGS! You're using a old version! 4.2 is the newest! UPDATE!
ICS333 V1.0.2. This is pure Google way...
ICS333
ICS333 and Gummy with semaphore...
ICS333 1.0.2 running semaphore. If your looking for a pure stock feel on your Galaxy S, silky smooth and relatively snappy. Just do a clean install and you wont encounter problems with it.
i have tryed a few roms and my favourite is dark knight rom i have used it for about a month

I'll differentiate from main nexus s custom rom Bionix (cause CM7 is still unstable).
The different kernel: Netarchy kernel is much more stable than Trinity, i never had a random reboot, instead with trinity and bionix rom i had something like 3 reboots per day.
This is why i decided to bake a rom.
Another difference is that i'm keeping the rom light and clean, without putting useless apps.
Oh and with bionix you can't find some apps in market (like flash), with mine those apps are available

I've not tried this ROM yet so I apologise .... does this ROM have the drop down power control widgets like in cyanogen ? I like that feature a lot, widgetsoid doesn't replicate this sufficiently for me so if the drop down power control widget could be included then this sounds pretty perfect to me, a nice "light" ROM...
thanks in advance

Hi everyone.. im currently using LG Optimus One rooted w/ Cm7 Rom + Franco Kernel and I will get my new LG Optimus Black (White Edition) tomorrow.. I just want to ask something.. .
• What's the BEST Rom & Kernel Combo as of the moment for heavy gamer *GB & Froyo*
• It is advisable to upgrade the stock Optimus Black from Froyo to GB before i root it?
• Is it easier to root the stock Froyo than to GB?
*im a bit knowledgeable on rooting & customizing phone so im looking forward to do this on Optimus Black too w/out bricking it
TIA!
1 understand the origin from 'Optimus One but not exist a kernel diveded by the ROM, for gaming , unfortunately. Only ROMs.
2 Upgrade to Gingerbreade: you should now upgrade to the last v20o, seems not to create problems
3 Yes
Well a few things. Read my noob how to.
About rooting: froyo (at least the low versions, like v10c) is waaay easier to root, than GB. So first root Froyo, then flash any ROM you want.
Best kernel... We only have 1 custom, until now and this is Diana kernel by Huexxx.
Best ROM: We have many good, but I would advise Zeus Test ROMs, or Gabwerkz Echelon ROM. Marvel seems to be very fast and good as well, but I havent tried it,so I cant tell.
One of the fastest ROMs is probably still Nova, with the possibility, to OC the phone.
THAT's it, as far as I can help you out on this. Hope you enjoy your new phone
alright.. thanks for the 2 response above ~
since this phone doesnt have any very good kernel for gamers as of the moment, i think NOVA ROM wherein we can OC our device is our best option for gaming purposes..
my follow up question now is how far can we OC (stable) our phone under Nova Rom?
any users here who tested their phones like Quadrant & Neocores for each of these rom's below.. .
Zeus Test
Gabwerkz Echelon
Marvel
Nova
Scores for each Rom's would be highly appreciated TIA!

just see on the posts of each rom lol... oc on nova is set to 1.1ghz
I think he can pretty savely go to 1.2 ghz as well. But idk, I think I never tried to reach the maximum, cause it only heats up, consumes A LOT of battery and only brings you 10-20% more fps, which equals if you have lets say 25 fps average in a rise of 2.5-5 fps... dunno if it's worth it... Zeus and Echelon should be fine for gaming, just give it a shot and you ll see
I'm with zeus lite and for game is very nice no needed oc for play
Sent from LG-P970 using zeus lite
just got my new Black a couple of hours ago and its too sexy coz its color white unfortunately its already at GB .. . on my Optimus One i managed to root it when it was on Froyo so i dont have any experience yet in rooting a GB .. .
@nooby
yeah! that's the cons of OC'ing a device *heats a lot + draining the battery too much*
i havent tried any game yet *busy working this weekend i will try a couple of hd gameloft games..
*i need a lot more time to backread all good roms here
Agree with above

having used both CM9 and AOKP on my Galaxy 8.9. I have found they both have different strengths. I would say CM9 is a bit more stable (although both roms are very stable) but AOKP is much more customisable.
I didn't get on very well at all with any of the galaxian soup roms I tried. I had to many FCs for my liking
AOKP Build 35 is a solid rom.
I found CM9 had a better battery life.
But IMO AOKP is much more responsive and smooth
AOKP build 35. Read the latest feedback there and you'll see. I lost very little battery overnight. I made a post on that thread containing the fixed ROMs, you can't miss it.

What's wrong with rolling your own ROMs?
I build my own, and simply pull patches off CM and AOKP gerrit when they suit me.

Hi,
I just go my Galaxy Tab 8.9 delivered, great little piece of kit. I am just wondering whether it is worth to update it with a custom ROM or wait until the official release of ICS which should be pretty soon.
AOKP B35 is apparently the way to go, could please somebody point out for me where it is best to download. Dr. Google returns HD2 ROM, I guess this is the wrong device ...
Good luck installing B35. I've tried several times and cannot get it to flash. If you are successful, please give me a step by step how you did it.

Yes, totally worth it. ICS for this tab is taking its sweet ass time. You won't see it roll out for awhile no matter what you read.
Well, I've tried all that I can find. Gotta say, at least for me, The aokp b35 p5wifi with motleys v3+ kernal, nova launcher and Set CPU running a few custom profiles has been an epic experience for me. Truth be told, I do see browser lag, a cache and process clear resolves quickly.
Thankfully someone listed the fixed download and it worked perfectly.

I've been looking at the threads, but apparently every ICS official Samsung ROM is still dangerous, right?
I'm on CM9, but I find myself missing some of the advanced stylus functionality, and HW media acceleration is iffy, at best. I'd like to go back to an official ROM, but now GB feels sooo slow...
Rumours of 4.0.4 soon!
check my words, but speedmod or franco kernels should make it safe
I tried the Speedmod and Franco kernels, but both were more trouble than it was worth CM9 works perfectly well, I'm just missing several features of the official release.

Plus one.
Just updated to K3-6 myself. Ive used franco kernel before but found it too 'bleeding edge' for my tastes.
Speedmod ICS kernel is what you are looking for, safe stable and full tw support. Just be sure to do your full-wipe from within in GB beforehand to reduce the possibility of issues.

guys one information which i want to share with you
yesterday i put mail to CEO of samsung mobile and told every thing related to faulty ics firmware, kernel prob, emmc-brickbug prob and all information about the user who had bricked their device
today i got call from SSC the person to whom i was taking told me that there is nothing to worry about ics firmware and kernel does not contain any fault like this both sgs2 and note are highly up gradable set and to upgrade note you should have speed of 3.0 mbps if you upgrade it through kies or upgrade it from service center and if there is any prob found after update samsung technician are ready to help us
one thing more as everyone know that ics has more battery drain prob and gb does not so there is nothing to worry about and rooting the device is third party software and samsung does not provide any help if you root your device and got it bricked so be care full and enjoy upgrading
btw- upgrading is at your own risk if you do it manually
i think so~
i am using 4.04~ but when i use "GotBrickbug-v1.1.apk"
it's also

I've used the pack, it works for me and i've enabled pretty much every option except for the hardware acceleration ones.
Works fine on Tonyp's CM10 Paranoid Android.

Testing on Paranoid android 2.23 by Tony and It boot, see how it goes
Did not work in cm7.2 nightlies.stuck at LG logo. phone did not boot.
hmm, i also tried it on tonyp's PA CM10 and enabled almost everything except hw acceleration, but my phone was very sluggish afterwards. in addition, i had several reboots. maybe it does not work well together with harsh's kernel, i am using the latest one. might give it another try when i have more time, but for the moment i removed all the tweaks again.
nevertheless a quite fancy tool!
