How to remove Pause icon in the notification bar? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After I stop a song using the music player, the pause icon appears in the notification bar.
How do I remove this icon. Is the only way to go into task manager and end the music task?
Thanks

Tap Back till you get outta music player.
Now it will be closed

It's not a bug, it's called multitasking.
When you pause a song, you are not stopping the music app. When you exit the app by entering it and then back button, that's when the app terminates.

The pause icon will disappear on it's own accord when Android does what it is supposed to do and deems the program to be no longer needed.
For me it's a matter of mere minutes

[Q] Prevent App from shutdown

Is there a way to make an app stay alive in the background?
I'm annoyed by Spotify being auto-closed when not used (on pause in background). This disables the play button on my Bluetooth headset to start it and also the position in the song and even what song and playlist is lost.
Maybe it was my old Desire HD having more RAM that made it less prune to close Spotify as soon as it was left on pause in the background.
Any ideas on how to make Android favor certain apps and keep them from being killed?

If it has a persistent notification (icon in notification bar), turn that on. It will stop the app getting killed. If it doesn't have this function you're out of luck sorry.

[App] Stop the Music - turn off music keys on lock screen

I'm not the developer of this app, I found it on the Internet !
With that app we can turn off music keys on the top lockscreen when we not listen the music.
Ever wanted to remove the active song from the volume bar without rebooting your phone? Now you can!
Just open the application and your music will be stopped. The Volume Bar will be cleared and the music controls removed from the volume bar and the lock screen. No more accidentally pressing the play button.

You can also play a video file and pause it, and voila, no more volume options for music!!!
Fantastic app.
Is it possible to write the app so that it will disable the music then close itself? That way, you could have it pinned to the start screen and simply press it, and it will do everything automatically.

Awesome and I second the idea of Lumic.
A little option should be avaible in the menu, which allows you to toggle if the application should close itself after removing the music bar.
thanks, very cool app )
Thanx for making this in an app in the marketplace. The app already existed though. Very usefull.
nice app. thanks for this one.
very cool app
Very good app. I think that Microsoft should have included this option in the OS.
I was just thinking about "There oughta be an app for this!" the other day.
Great app, thanks!

well, there is a bug that actually allows this.
play a music and then go to home screen. From there, tap on the walkman app and immediately tap the home button. Dont let walkman open. This will allow the led to function during any apps, screen on and screen off.
Have fun.
Hit thanks if this helps. :good:

I found this on another site last night.
Took me a while to get the timing right but I can confirm it does work.
Why has sony given the led bar such limited functionality!
Cant wait to see what devs can do.
Still, the colors won't chamge with changing songs, I have read that Sony has released a led control api on their website? Will that help or is it already available in the device itself

That's to create apps that can use the LED. Can't be used with pre-existing apps.

Google Play Music issue or what alternative player?

So google play music for me works...but when I disconnect from bluetooth and I end the task for google play the icon remains in the status bar still and I have to reopen the player and close to make it go away. Anyone else have this issue? What players do you guys use?

I've got the free 6 months of play music with the nexus so I'm currently using it.
However my go to app for music playback is poweramp.
Does that issue occur for you though? Like the player stays in status bar even after task has been ended?

If it is in my notification bar I click it to open, then press back on phone till the app closes. If it is still present I can normally just swipe it away.

Music stops while display is off

This is an issue I've had with stock-based 8.0 ROMs (currently using JanJan's .235). If I'm using any music player, and the screen is off, once the song is over sometimes the next song will not play. As soon as I turn on the screen and show the lockscreen, the next song starts.
Anyone else experiencing this, or found a fix? I'm sure if I use something that forces a wake lock it would fix the problem, but that wouldn't be good on the battery life.

Go into settings\battery - press the three dots top right - power saving exceptions. Add your music player to the exceptions list.

Thanks, I've already done this. It did not fix the problem, unfortunately.
I ran into the same problem: I solved it by not only adding Blackplayer to the Power Saving Exceptions (PSE), but also checking "Wake lock" under Settings/Audio/More". Not sure if other players feature a similar option.
Alternatively, it might be necessary to look for a system process, which is also necessary for music playback and add it to PSE.
