Thanks for the quick reply and for looking into my problem. Iḿ using Immaginary ICS v4 and don have a backup of the stock rom for this phone.
In the folder I did find two files:
hostapd.conf
1 aug 2008 12:00:00 I rwxr-xr-x I 100B
wpa_supplicant.conf
1 aug 2008 12:00:00 I rwxr-xr-x I 132.17kb
I did find and download a tar file from 4shared, but I don´t know who put it there or what for (not to keen on risking totally bricking my phone).
Filename: COOPER_CODE_SHW_M240S_TG18_HOME.tar
Filesize: 214.01 MB
Description: TG18 firmware for Samsung Galaxy Ace SHW-M240S
The thing is I need you to take a stock ROM , extract out the system.rfs and grab the WiFi + Bluetooth files
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?
hmm...Iǘe extracted out the system.rfs...but don´t know how to grab files from it. I have a windows XP and a ubuntu 12.04 computer, but can seem to open system.rfs to get the wifi & blue tooth files

Cool...I'm more interested in fixing the wifi (I'm not on unlimited data plan)..so bluetooth isn't a big issue.
So just use a root file manager to replace the file on the phone?...I guess what's the worst thing that could happen...I could mess up my wifi?
thanks again

BUG #43: If you reboot your phone after installation...or if you turn your phone off at all, you might loose the 4 .so files stored in data/data/com_adobe_flashplayer/lib, I am working on this issue until then then, the bug can be fixed by simply re-moving the files as I mentioned in the tutorial. Anyone who knows why this files are deleted by the phone is welcomed to help me fix this bug!
Solution: Make all flash player's folders read only! For now it seems like it is the only solution available...

James, thanks for this. I am attempting to find a solution for the Nexus 7 in a thread, also on Jellybean.
Could you kindly let us know what was the code fix to the wpa_supplicant file? We'll have to see if we can reverse engineer it and apply the same fix. (P.S. I've already tried using this file on the Nexus 7 to no avail)

Just trying on Nexus S (i9023) with Jelly Bean 4.1.1 JRO03E and it DOESN'T work for me. It's just displaying text that wifi is turning on. (BTW I noticed that original JB wpa_supplicant is 578 kB and this one is only 470 kB)
On ICS 4.0.4 this file worked just fine.
Has anyone got wpa_supplicant with adhoc support working on Jelly Bean?

update rom cm10
It's pity that this updated wpa_suppl. from CM10 doesn't work on stock ROM either. But I know there aren't many people who want this particular combination (stock ROM + ad hoc).
Confirm that this file didn't work on any JB ROM. Tested on many Roms.

For sure..it didnt worked for me on any JB rom.. except the 83C stock and unrooted. But, the file size was same as of patch. Now all the JB releases have different file sizes than patched wpa_supplicant.

you can check IF it has IMEI, if lost than you need to fix efs, BUT first, you should check network settings on Mobile networks and also SKT Hidden Menu on PIT STOP for additional settings

All phones has an IMEI number as their identity for network connection and Sim Card also must be installed

Rooting Galaxy Ace S5830 on Android 2.2.1 Froyo
Turn on the USB Debugging Mode on your device.
Download and install USB Drivers for Samsung devices, if it is installed on your PC. Without appropriate drivers your computer will not detect your phone.
Now connect your device to the computer via a USB cable.
Download and extract the SuperOneClickv1.9.1-ShortFuse.zip file. Inside the extracted folder you will find “SuperOneClick.exe”. Click on this application and you a pop-up window will appear. Wait for some time so that the program detects your device. Then click on the ROOT button.
In a few seconds your device will be rooted!
Cheers! :good:

* First of all, enable USB debugging.
* Second, v1.9.1 is way outdated. Download the latest version 2.3.3 from this link : Super One Click 2.3.3.
* Extract it & run SuperOneClick.exe.
Hope this helps...!!
