I am enjoying CyanogenMod on my Note and wonder why SNote and SMemo from the official ICS update have not been ported yet. Do those Samsung Apps require a special kernel and will they ever be implemented in AOSP ROMs?

Those require TW framework to work, so it's a no-go at CM9 or its derivatives ATM.
The emphasis being on ATM. Be patient.
@chasmodo, do you mean they're working on porting tw_framework or about the opendesign implementation as seen on opendesign.droidbbq.com?

pretty much settings/user preferences/other things.
CNA has some things, AOKP has some things, they both have some things
and im trying to make CNA more tablet mode orientated since AOKP has more ability to switch between phone/tablet modes easier
Does this have all the bugs which the AOSP ROM has?

ICS stunner is based on ICS Euphoria which is based on features from AOKP and CM9. You will have euphoria controls which are a mix of controls from Both
AOKP is the open kang project which is separate from cm9, with its own set of controls and features
Highly recommend you to check both roms out! Fabulous roms!

Bugs on x AOSP will be on y AOSP xD This is same base...
But there are a lot of 4.0 roms: AOSP, AOKP or other, and i think many users are lost, because more explications and differencies must be listing between these roms...

No worries mate. Its all good, you are always good to ask questions if they confuse you The common bugs which all aosp and aokp roms share are the same because they are all based on Imilkas aosp v6 rom.
But I would recommend you to see the OP with the list of bugs mentioned there too and the aosp bug list as well.
And I recommend you trying the few roms for note, to see which one suits you according to your preference. cheers!

ICS Stunner, a long with several others, have the ability to switch to Tablet UI or Phone UI. So, I don't know what you are asking because you can run as a tablet already.

This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for in a ROM for my note! I think the only thing that would really take things just that extra step further is is we could also incorporate some of the framework from the 7.7, like mini-tray apps for the dialer, SMS, etc. and also incorporate more S-Pen framework and functionality like in Note Stock ROMs. Add all that together, and I think we would have the ultimate Android device out now; best of all worlds!

I'm afraid not. You'll need to flash one of the TW-based Roms to get that.
CM9 has nothing of TW framework in it, so cannot support apps that need it.

See touchwiz s3 been ported to all device by modifying the apk..
Only issue with cm9 spen is the digitiser driver and people willing to modify the apk..

You can do it on your own if you want, but official CM9 will NEVER include

true, but the cm team is doing another project called opendesign where they are building their own features which we see in TW and sense based roms.. bringing all those awesome features to cm9 soon
Testing the speakerphone from the new cm9 kernel by xplod , after the sources were released. that was super fast! if all ok, should be released a new build soon

I am pretty sure we will see some Custom Kernels and Roms pretty fast now based on those sources. But one thing still remains. Will the relased sources be able to fix the brick danger on ICS? I am very curious to see that.

I really dont think that new ics based roms would get success..
devs may think out of the box. should try to do something unique

Yeah so thats where the inventiveness of the devs comes in..imagine a new android version.. no one's version would be considered wrong..
How about roms having a whole new layout, i mean people have started to get bored with the ics layouts and themes, everybody loves a change.

Honeycomb isn't likely because:
1. The sources in AOSP are untagged + unbranched
2. The sources are not complete
Windows 8 is far more unlikely because:
1. The sources were never released

Windows 8 looks almost exactly like WP7 and Honeycomb sounds good but I doubt anyone would be interested into making it as popular and good as ICS.

It is hard to get a stable ics as of now it is goin to take minimum 6 to 7 seven months before a bugfree ics and then only we can look forward to jb we muat have patience.

Patience is a virtue moreover there isn't much difference in user looks
Just a few add ons here and there moreover I doubt about how will this device go on with jb.But anyways well see that expect stable jb for our device by early 2013.Many experimental build will start popping out soon

there won't be fully working ics/jb because no one willing to re-write damn codecs... y'all have fully working cm7, be happy with that, or buy yourself nexus s or one x, which have ics from the start. Peoples! Stop dreaming and expecting wonders from heavily outdated phone!
Maybe the devs will do something, if the rest of the people is willing to wait!
AOKP build with modified libstagefrighthw.so can play 720p @ ~10 (maybe more) fps, HQ youtube works ( as testers reported ). If AntiBillOS will give permissions camera will be working with 3rd party apps too. So... it's not so impossible after all.
Ok, so camera will work, but only ON HACKS. That's great, really. How about stability of os? :>

no, cm10 will be android 5.0... jellybean will be cm9.1 or something like that, since jellybean is just an update of ics...

yup, i agree with u. The only issue with cm9 (for me at least) is the lack of RAM, i dont care abt the "crappy camera" or "useless" FM.

ok, but the question is not if they can, because it's obvious that galaxy mini is able to run ics/jb, the question is: can it be runned smoothly on low end phone? and i'm only guessing that the answer is no, because of extremely low specs (compared to other phones nowaday) of galaxy mini
