Hi!
My Play market won't update / install certain apps on my phone (SGS i9000).
It notifies me about an update, then, in the market, it just gets stuck at the green download progress bar after selecting "Accept & download).
The notification bar stays on 0%.
The same happens with the download & installation of some apps.
I tried on Wifi as well as Data.
It only happens with certain apps, but I see no definite correlation!?
Apps that has this update behaviour and fail:
- GMail
- StreetView
Apps that has the installation behaviour and fail:
- Facebook
Apps that did update / install correctly:
- Google Maps
- Google Search
- SuperUser
- Adobe Flash Player
- Voodoo Control App
My market version: 3.5.19
Phone Firmware: JW5 (Semaphore 2.7.4sc)
EXT4 enabled
Thanx! Hope someone has a solution for this!
did you try to wipe the data of the market?
yes i have done that... still no success!?
No idea why, but i just worked again after a couple of days!
Still unsure about the reason, but anyway at least it works now!

Market + Google Apps keep disappearing.
For whatever reason, i cannot install Google Apps or the Market (the main one i want to restore, the rest i can just individually install, like maps).
Whilst using my phone regularly (no flashing/booting/anything like that) my market and my maps icons on the "desktop" go to the default android app icon (the white and green icon) and when i click on the links it says "Application is not installed" (using Launcherpro Beta). In system/apps both vending.apk+MarketUpdater.apk is there (so is all Google Apps).
But for whatever reason i cant access the applications through my phone. I tried flashing gapps-passion-EPE54B again and nothing comes back....
So does anyone have any ideas on whats wrong for starters, and how i could get market back?
Anyone have any ideas?
i think u missed to install google addon.. search ths article -->[ROM] CyanogenMod-5: Kang Central Station (STABLE) [05/25/2010 / 5.0.7.1] in development section

I had Market+Maps installed on my phone, i wasnt installing apps/flashing or anything. Then they randomly just disapeared. Now i cant make them return, with any method (flashing gapps/installing the apk)
wew... I haven’t the vaguest idea what to do.. sorry dude..
try to flash again.. wipe everything ths tym..
Yeah i reakon a wipe and reflash might work. But i would prefer not to do that (You know, everything is how i like it)
This was stolen from Viewsonic G-Tab forums
Go into Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - Market - Clear CACHE - Force Stop
(For TnT/TnT Lite... Settings - Applications - System Applications)
Press back once - Google Services Framework - Clear DATA - Force Stop
Reboot device and after it boots back up wait a few minutes. Then open market and enjoy! I was never able to get mobile banking software, Google Maps or root explorer before doing this. Not sure if you have to do this after every reboot but it works!!!!

Edit: Sorry should have mentioned I tested this on NookieComb 4.13. I'm sure this would work on NookieFroyo...

That would be great, but I don't have an 'applications' link in the settings menu.
Use nook color tools
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Worked great on color 1.2 running zeam.
Old market app is a lot faster than the play store. But the method to restore old market for gb or cm7 ROMs DOESN'T WORKS for the ICS OR JellyBean. The apps gets downloaded in data/data/com.android.providers.download/caches but don't INSTALLS automatically.
Please provide any method to run the old android market on ICS/JB

Googled b4 posting, but the problem is Apps are not being installed.
Steps that i perform:
1. Delete Google play apk, then Reboot
2. Copy the 'market.apk' & 'update.apk' to system/app, then Reboot
3. Download an app from Market.
4. But the app doesn't installs
After searching in system, the app(which gets downloaded but doesn't install) was lying there as 'download.apk' in /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache
Also when the apps is downloading is notified in notification bar, but not in market. I.e there's no status of the app being downloading in market app
I tried my best for the problem to be extremely clear.

I didn't need to do all that process of zip signing.(may be it will be required in future if any problem persists )
And for the Play store issue, I freezed/disabled the update.apk
Well it won't update my apps but this resolves the issue of play store.

Hi !
On my nokia 7 plus (android 9 / 00WW_3_39D) I have a problem on google play store.
When I install an application no progress notification of download and installation is displayed ...
But I have the right to install installed ...
I launched "reset pref apps"
Verifications of the authorization of the notifications in the checked, unchecked and recchecked parameters (for google play store, download, service play store)
Restart phone.
With these manipulation: no positive impact.
When I download to a browser without problems, the notification and download icon in progress is displayed.
Here is a screenshot "log of notifications":
download but not visible in the bar ... application has been installed this time visible ....
if you have any ideas to solve this problem I'm interested: D

Problem solved!!!
Wifi & 4g Disable,
Deleting the Play Store and service Play store data,
Disabled Play Store,
Clean Cache with Sdmaid,
Restart the smartphone,
Reactivate the Play Store,
Download Notification and installation progress works perfectly!!
Thank you!
Hi,
other solution found on the forum OnePlus:
"
So i cleared the cache and data of Google play Store and boom it worked. Now download progress bar is there.
So the steps that worked for me was:
1) Settings-> app & notification->see all apps->3 dot at top & choose show system-> android setup-> clear cache and data
2) Go back-> scroll down to download manager app-> turn off all the setting and enable it again
RESTART NOW
3) Go to app and notification-> select Google play Store-> clear cache and data
Now start downloading any app.
