How to remove INTERNAL SD card? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I would like to change my internal SD into a bigger one. I don't know how to do it though. Is there a way? I want to copy my apps and games on my external but I can't. That's why I wanna change the internal. Apparently it's somewhere deep in the phone. Any help is appreciated.

i dont think you can do that.
the phone have about 1.4GB for system storage and 13GB for internal SD
the game apk installed on system and game data is in internal SD
i think it has okay except you want to install all HD games on your phone

You could use some ICS rom which supports switching internal & external storages. AFAIK at least the CM9 and AOKP supports it.

I don't think you can/should change the internal sd. You have 13 or 14gb of usable memory on your internal, why can't all your apps fit on there? Have you tried move2SD? Also, a majority of apps don't like to be run from a sd card.

Apps2sd and other sd apps only copy to internal. Because I have a 8gb device my internal is only about 6gb or so. I'm using ICSSGS. Maybe i'll change to some rom that supports external sd apps.

Hi, my advice: you should try Link2SD (on Market)
No more props with storeing more then 200 Apps

[Q] Is it Possible to use the full internal storage as Internal Phone Storage ?

Hi,
Sorry if its a noob question..
In Optimus 2x if i am not wrong, the internal storage is partitioned to 2+GB as phone stroage n 5+GB as Internal phone storage that acts as internal SD CARD.
Is it possible to make the entire 8GB internal as internal phone memory instead of Internal SD CARD ?
If not is it a OS Limitation or Market Limitation ?
If yes, Is there any instructions link, to do it how ?
thanks.

1. First the Reason is I can get 16 GB external for fairly cheap price.
2. I can move apps to external SD and utilize internal memory for loading games.
3. Games are downloading 600MB + data and filling the internal partitioned memory fast.
4. Management becomes much more easier.. i dont have to look for _EXTERnal folder everytime.
and many more..

Do you not have any music on your phone?
I keep all my music on emmc on cm7, i have 5gb of music so works quite nicely for me.
I use player pro music app and that picks up all music.

Internal vs External SD Card Confusions

This whole internal storage thing is confusing me a bit. Coming from the Galaxy S, all I had was my SD card. I felt safe being able to copy it and make backups.
I also like to have all my application specific data on the card incase I need to use it in another device.
Is there a way to make the Note default to using external SD? Pro's Cons?
Thanks for any help sorting this out.
I too am wondering this. Looks like it specifies the internal storage as USB storage vs SD card but some apps don't see it that way.
The internal memmory has two partitions, the system one(internal memmory 2gb) and the storage one(usb storage about 11gb) the apps install only system data on the system partition and all the user data is saved in the usb storage

Can someone help me ?

AW: [Q] How to use external SD like internal memory
Have you tried Directory Bind yet? This is my favorite solution for this kind of problem.
Sent from my Xperia T using xda app-developers app
No I do not.
Because I thought that is for move my apps from sd to ext_sd ?
I want to permanently replace ext_memory on internal memory, I want to do it once for all new apps from store immediately instal on my 32 GB card. Can I do it with Directory Bind?
I'm looking something like :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143206
I try to edit Vold.fstab, but it does not work maybe I do something wrong
Edit:
I'm on clear, new rom now and I want to replace memory but I see DirectoryBind is the only way for me

[Q] Apps 2 sd in stock v20a

Apps 2 sd in stock v20a
How can we do this? Am I right in thinking that I can use rommanager to create a partition on the internal sd card? If that is correct then is it not possible to create a partition on external sd to move apps to? Otherwise it would seem pointless because the phone install apps to the internal sd anyhow, So creating a partition to it would be pointless no?
Anyone can shed any light on this fr me as I am just guessing so far?
Anyone know if its possible to swap internal sd and external sd like we can in Cm to get more room?
Thanks if you can help,
Use link2sd and external sd partition method
If you want to move games data to external sd use Foldermount
Both requires root
Search in google you will get more info

That's not what I mean. Link 2 sd just moves game data. I was wanting to swap mounts for internal to external so all apps install to the external 32gb sd card. Or a partition to do it. I use the above programs but I also need more space for installing the apk's.#
In CM you can swap intenal and external in build prop to get the phone to use the larger external card as internal app storage. This does not work in JB if you edit the build prop.
I need a similar way for JB as CM roms are no good for me because of the hdmi output problem (rotation bug).
Has anyone had luck swapping the mounts in JB?

But 16gb is more enough for installing apk
You can move your games data to external sd to save more space
Example: you can install the ironman3 apk in internal sd it's takes about 35mb and move the 780 mb obb data to external sd with foldermount

[Q] Install apps in SD Card

I'm planning on buying this phone. My question is, is there any mod to install apps in SD Card? Because the internal memory of this phone is slightly small(8 Gb).

Foldermount is what you are looking for
Yes folder mount works fine but you might need to use mount reboot fix
