updating? really? to android 2.3.6 or from 2.3.6 ?
hopefully there's a new radio that goes along with it!
DO tell!

So is there a point to this thread or are we just waiting on mods to close a thread about something you don't have?

well, he's obviously excited about the update, like anyone would be, and he's telling us that he's uploading it now. So he does have the update....no point in posting in the general section, and then again in the development section. Im sure once he uploads it, he will change the OP and title or something...chill dude
is it physically hurting you that this post is here? is it harming your phone?
You know if you have a problem with someone's post, you can always let a mod know and they will determine where it belongs.
p.s.
Thanks pzyduck for letting us know about the update and for uploading it =) i for one appreciate it

Good job bro, it is good to see some of us still know about appreciation. This rom is somewhat great news for all international atrix mb860 owners.

I'm saying it's pointless because no, it's not physically hurting me or my phone but your saying you have something before it's even available. That's like putting candy in front of a kids face then saying "I'll give it to you in 10 days". If you have the Bell Firmware then awesome, thanks for your hard work but I don't see the relevance is saying you have something before it's available. You might as well do it at the same time.

Can this be flashed to people who have unlocked their boot loader? I know some people were hard bricking their phones after applying a SBF after doing an OTA update to Gingerbread

what im actually concerned about, is how motorola is locking down the atrix so that no sbf flashing is possible. im wondering if that patch has been included in this update.

Very cool find.
I wonder if the bootloader can be unlocked with this one?
EDIT:
I extracted the sbf in linux using sbf_flash -x
build.prop in /system: ro.build.version.full=Blur_Version.45.21.78.MB860.BellMobility.en.CA
/preinstall has those gameloft demo games, dated 12/2011
CG5 (radio) has "OLYLAUSBP_N_01.07.05P", "OLYLAUSBP_N_01.77.06P"
Cheers!

Darn your right. this is probably the update that is locking that down then. THEY ARE TRYING TO TEMPT US WITH UPDATES!

Will i brick my Phone if i flash this ?

I just flashed it, it's just 2.3.6 in sbf form, AFAICT. Having unlocked bootloader won't brick it.
Cheers!

NFHimself so this pretty much your 2.3.6 gobstopper as a sbf ?

Short answer yes, boots and webtop works.
I haven't tested it fully, but you won't be bricked by having an unlocked bootloader, no idea if it blocks sbf flashing and I haven't flashed intl_try1.sbf to get the unlocked bootloader back. EDIT: That works without issue, sbf flashing isn't blocked.
I am looking into webtop stuff right now, tried all the options already, debian, gentop2, seeing what else can be done.
EDIT: After flashing this, you can motofastboot flash preinstall preinstall.img (the attached file) to get a quick adb root session.
$ adb shell
$ /preinstall/shsu
#cp -p lxterminal /usr/bin/
#cp sudoers /etc/
You end up with lxterminal as an icon in the top bar of webtop, and sudo works.
Cheers!

When I rooted my phone and unlocked my bootloader back in february, I was on 2.3.6..... im confused, lol

Is this the "official" from Bell?
Can this be done with ROM Manager, or is this strictly RSD?... As always thanks in advance NFHimself...

Only way to use ROM Manager would be to make a CWM zip for the partitions inside. Strictly RSD. If you have 2.3.6 already there is no need to bother with it, but it's good to have a way to get back to stock from rsd mode. No idea how official it is.
Cheers!

i can flashed in my MB860 SFR france or is Specifically for bell canada ?!

It flashes the Boot, System, & Webtop like Sam's Fruitcakes, and the Fruit Cakes don't remove the unlock so I would say no, it doesn't remove the unlock. (Some dev please correct me if I'm wrong)

You are right. Unlock is a permanent thing (hardware short). However, some people may want to have the Unlocked text gone if they want to warranty. Does this remove the unlock text? I know regular SBF's remove the unlock text (but phone is still unlocked).

I don't know... I think because your only flashing certain parts it doesn't remove it... But then again this does flash a new boot.img, so again I can't be certain...

Boot.img isn't the bootloader. Think of this as a more direct way of flashing a fruit cake.

agreed. As far as i am aware the XL cannot be made S-off yet. I have heard someone say they have done it but i havnt managed to do it yet and ive tried a few ways. So unfortunately for that reason it not included in this toolkit. I will however include it in a near future release if available. The new release will include the option to install gingerbread or ICS
Nice work.
It will be nice if you can incorporate recovery so that nandroid backup of original stuff is done prior to rooting etc.

I have HD2 and with him there is an option to brake him if you install wrong radio.
What is the possibility to brick my XL?

No because you can't downgrade if your bootloader is locked.
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I am trying to unroot and I cannot use RSD Lite because I'm a Linux only man. Kind of sad, this is the first time I've had a problem like this after 5 phones.
Is there a way to apply this without using RSD? Or some way that I can install a stock ROM without using RSD? I feel like a moron because I can't find the SD card I had the stock backup that I did, and the only thing I can find after hours of searching online are RSD-Lite related unroots.
Can anyone help me? Either provide a way I can install a stock ROM using a Linux utility, or perhaps be an extremely kind soul and create a stock rooted ROM that I can flash via TWRP? I've done this before and used the universal unroot, works extremely well, but I can't find anything like that for the xt926.
I'm pretty desperate here, anyone that can help please.

Trying to download the stock firmware from the 1st page and when I click the link to download I'm met with the "FORBIDDEN: you don't have access to this page" message...
Does anyone have a working download link?
Or can anyone tell me how to properly download?

couple questions about 4.4.2 and rooting

Ok, so I got my new n3 rooted using kingo, then updated to 4.4.2 using the one click file which softbricked me for some reason. I think it was because of the root and I didnt undo it. Or maybe the safestrap I installed and didnt undo before update. Either way, I just restarted my phone and did oneclick again and it worked like a charm.
Now I am here with 4.4.2 and I like it. Well, not as much as non touchwiz version... but I need s pen functions or I shouldnt even have a note! Basically I need to know if kingo will work on my 4.4.2 now. I am reluctant to try because I dont wanna soft brick and have no way back to anything. Ive done that before and it took me days to get back to a stock rom. So does anyone know if I can use kingo to get root again?
Next question... I want to install the custom keyboard that someone posted in the rom section. There are pretty colors and I want them! Does anyone know how to do this? It is in a zip file and apparently has an aroma installer. Do I just use safestrap and flash like normal? This locked bootloader is a pain in the ass.
Last question... the same guy whi posted the keyboard also has a custom theme in his files for the n3... I am not sure how to use that either. It again is a zip, but im not sure its supposed to be flashed and even which way to flash it if it is. Any insight would be appreciated, I need all the pretty stuff.
So those are my questions. I hope someone has the answers.
I hope at&t rots in hell for having this locked bootloader. I bought this phone second hand ao I could put it on straight talk. Only went with at&t so it would be easiest to assure I got 4g lte... shoulda done more research on the phone because this is bullsh*t. There is no reason to lock the bootloader like this. Free my phone at&t!

Ok... like you said... dead thread... i didn't think it even posted. But either way...
Can anyone answer any of my questions? I'm itching to do stuff to my n3 but I'm scared lol
Guess no one knows! I'm surprised
If you took the 4.4.2 leak, you also took another boot loader. Kingo will not root you. Nothing will right now. Unfortunately this is what happens when you don't read. Whatever is broken will remain broken until such time as an ota is provided from ATT or a root exploit is found. Neither of which will be anytime soon I think. Sorry for your luck.
Edit: in case you missed it in the designgears leak thread.... Don't try to downgrade yourself back to 4.3. It won't work and bad things will happen.
Cheers

? I guess I missed something in the kitkat thread people are talking about the mj5 restore working fine I thought.
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
The restore to MJ5 was recently confirmed. I flashed 4.4.2 as well but I read the thread before I did it. However, I did not lose root. I believe the OP was updated to include root in 4.4.2. I didn't have to do anything to regain root except download SU.
I hope this helps. You may try to download that, you may already have root!!!

Bump! - Sign (unlock) your own boot images for LG G2 and more!

What is this?
This is Bump! A new and easy way to sign boot images for most modern LG phones so they'll boot on any locked phone.
Bump an image once, and flash it to however many phones you please.
How does this work?
Simply create an account on the site, click "Bump!", upload the boot/recovery images (also known incorrectly as 'kernels') and the service will automatically Bump them for you.
Is this project open source?
No, this project is not open source. We are however an "open" project, as we are all for transparency and user discussion. With that in mind, we'll be participating in user discussions and providing bugfixes and changelogs when possible.
Who made this?
Team Codefire, of course!
Bump would not be possible without the help and support of many people.
Please consider donating something to the people listed below to help them to continue to support your LG phone and to show your appreciation of all the hours they've put into this awesome unlock!
@thecubed - CLICK HERE to Donate - Project manager. Main hand in everything along the way.. from reversing the boot stack to website completion.
@IllegalArgument - CLICK HERE to Donate - Special thanks here, IllegalArgument really helped out and brought us across the finish line here. It's safe to say that we have the unlock today because of him - show him some love!
@autoprime - CLICK HERE to Donate - That'd be weird if I wrote something nice about myself here... :silly:
@Shelnutt2 - CLICK HERE to Donate - This guy nearly single-handedly wrote the entire Bump site in a few days. Lots of reversing work, super smart - another awesome member of the team!
@AnimatronicRocketReptile - CLICK HERE to Donate - Crypto help, thanks!
I'm just a user, do I need this?
Most likely not. If you're just flashing ROMs, this is a tool for developers only. There is no need to Bump ROMs yourself if you're not editing anything in the kernel, recovery, or ramdisk.
How do I know if something is Bump'd?
Look for the word "signed" or "bumped" in the filename. We will create a new section of the site soon that allows you to verify that a file is bumped soon enough.
Okay, I'm a developer, and I want this now!
Great! Go here and register, and Bump away!

As a user you don't have to be concerned about it if. Developers can now support latest boot stack without needing their users to downgrade it to use the loki hack. Though towleroot + autorec had already made our task of rooting and installing recovery very easy.

Gotta admit that I didn't really understand that haha! But that's okey as I'm not a dev so I'll just be happy this might help the devs!

I can't get what you want... Kernel or recovery ? We can't bump whole firmware if that you mean.
