from Rocket ROM to latest stock ROM - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently using the Rocket ROM and wanting to try the latest stock ROM?
What's the best way to upgrade or change?
Thanks

If you are on rooted GB rom with CF kernel, I suggest that you try CM9 first. After that you can try LiquidSmooth, Stunner, and other ICS rom. You need to read on the requirement of each rom.

I am on Rocket ROM already. And I am using CWM

If by "latest stock Rom" you mean ICS, then read this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659308
It has pictures and everything.

Thank you. But is it a safe way, from Rocket ROM to Stock ROM?

[Q] Custom kernel for stock GB 2.3.4?

Hello everyone,
I've a little question. After searching through the forum, I found 2 kernels (Quasar and Nova) but I don't think the work on GB (2.3.4). So, my question is simple: what kernel can be flashed over a rooted 2.3.4 official ROM?
Thank you in advance.
well... quasar kernel is for froyo [nova ROM] and nova kernel is for GB but only for cm7 which is 2.3.7...
I think Huexxx made a kernel but since I'm not using Zeus ROM I'm not sure, you should go to DEV section to take a look
Regards
There is non yet for stock GB. Except you extract the one from Zeus Rom and flash it to your phone. You only need android kitchen for this

Hydracore"" the shortcut for TW to AOSP??

hi there buddies, i am currently on RR v10 with hydracore kernel which is the new kernel which supports all roms, from tw to aosp. So my question is that previously if we wanna go from a tw rom like rr,criskelo,.etc. to a AOSP or CM rom, we should first go back to GB and flash from there:crying:. BUt since this rom supports AOSP/CM itself, so is it possible to simply flash a AOSP/CM rom directly from a stock/custom TW rom with Hydracore kernel?? thanks in advance :good:

Yes you can flash directly CM/ASOP ROM with hydracore kernel.

Jb:cm10:hybrid paranoidandroid

hi, i am a bit confused on how to flash this rom , some posts contradict them selves, im currently on rocket rom v7 (speedmod kernel).
do i have to downgrade to a rooted gingerbread rom , then flash cm9, then flash JB:CM10:HYBRID] PARANOIDANDROID, or can i just flash
JB:CM10:HYBRID] PARANOIDANDROID rom from clock work recovery on rocket rom v7 as it is a safe kernel .. thanks:good:
yes you can flash it directly on this rom, speedmod is a safe kernel.

As long as you are running a safe kernel you won't have issues. Make sure that you are in a safe kernel and do a clean install (full wipe)
That is the usual method, but also make sure that you read the rom download instructions just to make sure that you follow the correct instructions. Take into consieration that some AOSP roms fail when flashed from TW based CWM, so you need to flash an CM based kernel first..:good:

How can I know if I run a safe kernel?
which kernel do I exactly need for RocketROM ICS?
RR v12 runs on Notecore which is a safe kernel unless you have applied a different one
