What? This post is completely illegible. If you can get to HBOOT, go into fastboot, reflash recovery and flash a ROM before you try to RUU.

can not
how you gona flash recovery and rom when the bootloader is relocked?
can you point me what recovery and what rom?
or i would be nice if you send me a link with recovery and rom to flash on locked bootloader.thank you.
and remember i can not unlock the bootloader,it get stock on the screen with yes or no.i select yes, press the power button but the phone it get stock there.
when i go to recovery i can not do fatory reset because the cwm recovery files are in the storage and can not be deleted.that is the error that i get when i try to do factory reset or anything on recovery menu.
i got the rom by extracting the ruu and flashed via fastboot but, when i flash i get the error signature veryfication fail.so can you send me a link thet has a recovery img and rom who can be installed on relocked bootloader?
I think the best way is to work on getting bootloader unlocked first...I've had to go through the unlock process Several times before it finally worked...but I'm no expert so I'm not 100% sure...I just know what I did...worked for me but may not for you...I'm on the one x now and kinda worried about flashing as I can't remove battery..bl still not unlocked on one x and even when it does there are other issues...seen screenshot of one XL that had bl unlocked and it said "tampered" above unlocked...it locks perm boot partition after unlocked so boot is only temp...but in regards to your phone, I too had issues with the P.....zip file on many occassions...there surely is a fix for it..maybe one of the devs will see your post and be willing to help...

thank you austin4913.that is what hope to.you know on vivid android development there is a post where says that i need a modified ph39img.zip to rewrite the recovery because it looks like that is the problem, the old cwm recovery still in the storage and for some reason it can not be deleted,so a modified ph39img.zip to rewrite that recovery is needed.i hope the dev see this post because there are to many people with that htc logo with triangle on the corneres .b.t.w reflashing the ph39img.zip for ics it will bring there device to hboot menu.and if a dev can modifie a factory ph39img.zip for ics to rewrite the recovery i thing the device it will back to normal
Unfortunately if you cannot unlock the bootloader, or complete a RUU, you may have a bad EMMC. Send the phone back, as this is the exact symptom I have seen on phones with faulty internal memory.
If you are unable to unlock the bootloader, you will be unable to flash my modified ph39img.zip that will get you into CWM so you can fix the RUU process.
I'm not 100% sure that the EMMC is at fault, but it seems to be related to it, since even a phone that was s-off from HTC's factory seems to be exhibiting these same symptoms. It cannot complete a RUU, and I had to shrink /data down to 1.5GB before the phone was usable again. If anyone wants more information, contact me on #htc-holiday in freenode.
Good luck!
where?
thecubed i am sorry where can i contact you?what is #htc-holiday in freenode?
a irc chat?how i can get there, what server or from what website?sorry but i do not know how.b.t.w i am abble to flash ph39img.zip but it has to be original from htc,you know i was thinking if you can modifie the one that we update the hbot from gingerbread to ics.if i go to recovery menu and do factory reset all i get is 5-6 error message like, the first is keep cw file and than, can not mount data, can not erase.....etc etc.so i think if you modifie the htc ics ph39img.zip and rewrite the recovery to stock than it should not be problem.i can accses everything fastoot, recovery etc...but when i flash the stock rom via fastboot i get=> remote 12 signature verifycation fail=error.and one more thing the phone is charging normal when is off now, before when i had htc logo and triangels on the corner i had to use the other htc to charge the battery.i thing is not the memory because i can flash the htc ics ph39img.zip.so please send pm how to contact you.thank you.

If you are relocked you will have to unlock again to flash a custom recovery, kernel, and rom. Also, this should have been posted in the general thread.
stock rom
No I am looking to flash the att stock room no costum rom or recovery.I want the stock
Recovery and stock att ics rom.and when I try to unlock
The phone get stock I select yes and press the power button butt nothing happens
The phone freeze and does not respond no matter what I do.so I have
To remove the battery and insert again to start the phone and it only
Goes to hboot.
Did you relock your bootloader by HTCdev before attempting any of this? If not, then all you have to do is boot into fastboot and input the command:
fastboot oem relock
Afterwards just run the RUU.
Dev's move this to general... wrong section buddy next time put it in the General area not development
And cruzin_cruzing's post should help you
stock rom
The phone is locked and I flash ruu butt now I have more serious problem.
The phone is stock at HTC logo with triangle on each corner.I try to.
Reflash nothing it goes up to 34% and it get stock there.
I recently came across a modified Google Nexus One (N1) that has been experimented on. Upon boot up, I get a black screen with the HTC logo and four exclamation marks inside triangles in each of the four corners of the screen. As I attempted to enter hboot, I saw it has been replaced with Blackrose which leads me to believe it has been unlocked/rooted at some point in time. ( I am fairly new at this, but I lurk around the forum ). I tried hooking the N1 up to RUU to flash it back to a stock ROM, however that proved unsuccessful - the phone boots up to the above mentioned logo and stays that way. When I try to go to recovery/hboot, instead of the usual menu choices, there's only RUU as an option... Is the phone bricked, and if not, how can I revert it to a working state ?
I have attached pictures of what the boot screen looks like, as well as the recovery menu.
Thank you in advance.
It's in the middle of RUU mode, entered by executing "fastboot oem rebootRUU" (I might not remember it 100% correct, so check it with Google).
This should be enough for you to check with Google how you exit RUU mode.
The only way I see to exit this mode is if I flash it with something via fastboot ( since no recovery works, custom or stock ). What image file or zip do I flash it with, in order to revert it back to complete stock ( stock hboot, stock recovery, stock ROM ) - I want the phone like it was out of the box, so I can reroot it and unlock it myself.
I tried flashing it with PASSIMG_Passion_Google_WWE_3.13.1700.1_GRK39F_release_signed.zip through fastboot, for a moment it seemed to be going ok, then at the very end, while it was unpacking the [user data] image I get a partition update fail message 51, and after reboot - still the gray HTC letters and Blackrose instead of HBOOT.
Any suggestions ?
Short googling with the error would have revealed you the bad news.
Partition update fail means bad stuff - your NAND is malfunctioning, which equals a dead phone.
Have you tried to uninstall Blackrose?

doesn't the phone need to be working in order for me to hook it up to Blackrose ? As of now, with this screen, the PC doesn't seem to detect it as a working phone, only fastboot. And Blackrose just says waiting for device... how do I uninstall it then?
I also tried this RUU: RUU_Passion_Vodafone_Generic_3.11.151.3_GRJ22_release, flashing the ROM to an image version 3.11.151.3, but at the end I get a message saying ERROR [110]: FILE OPEN ERROR. The RUU cannot open the requested files or the files are damaged. The RUU cannot continue with the update. Please get a complete RUU package and try again. Can someone please refer me to a working RUU package for the Nexus One, I am really scared of experimenting trying to find one by myself, seeing how the phone is already hanging in the balance, I would be thankful
You could try to flash this stock HBOOT, and if you have resized partitions I guess you could always use blackrose_manual_120421.zip to change to stock partition layout (145/95/196).
Edit: I've never flashed a HBOOT this way, and I never resized my partitions the manual way, so I would check the Blackrose for details. And I'm not responsible if you brick your phone
Edit2: I see you haven't got working recovery, so you should find a way to flash the HBOOT via fastboot. Maybe the Blackrose developer dla5244 can help you out (or Google).
Edit3: You could also try to flash this engineering HBOOT

Thanks for your time friend, I tried the above mentioned steps, it says OK all across the board in fastboot while I flash, but after I reboot it just goes back to the same screen, stuck in RUU. I did some digging around and found this which seems to be exactly my problem:
RUU PROBLEMS
"I tried using a RUU, but it failed, and now my phone is stuck on a black HTC Screen with /!\ In every corner!"
Possible Causes:
- You were S-OFF and you flashed a custom bootloader from alpharev
- You didn't check the MD5 Sums before proceeding, and the download may have been corrupted.
- You tried using the wrong RUU
Fixing your problem
Your phone is stuck in RUU mode. RUU mode is like fastboot mode, and can still receive fastboot commands, therefore it can be easily "fixed".
It helps to have a goldcard for this problem, so that you can use any RUU you want.
S-OFF
[STEP1]- download "Bravo Stock" from Alpharev
[STEP2]- download Android Flasher
[STEP3]- use android flasher to flash "Bravo Stock"
[STEP4]- run the RUU again and wait for it to finish
S-ON
If you're S-ON it eliminates the possibility of you having a custom bootloader, and the only possibility now is that the RUU was corrupted or you
used the wrong RUU for your device. Therefore, for this process you need a goldcard.
[STEP1]- Create the goldcard from the tutorial
[STEP1]- Use the WWE RUU
However, this is from a thread for the HTC Bravo. Anything similar for the N1 ?
Edit1: Could it be that the hboot partition was resized with Blackrose and therefore the RUU I tried to flash it with needs stock partition layout ?
Your partitions ARE resized. 2nd picture 2nd line JB-220/10/206. If it's b*tching about the resized partitions, then that would be about your cache partition (which is 85MB smaller than its stock size).
Edit: you should also try to wipe your partitions with fastboot, then flash the img's that are inside the passimg
what's the command line to wipe the partition ? fastboot format hboot/recovery/system ?
Dude, your Nexus One is dead, the internal NAND is damaged and therefore unrecoverable.

hi all,
sorry to sound like a complete idiot in advance !
I have been trying for over a month now to find some way to return my phone to stock so I can get the new ota update but im just having no luck !
I have tried everything to unroot , relock boot loader, and return to stock, I can successfully unroot, successfully relock the boot loader but cannot update OTA everytime I download the ota and allow the phone to start update process the phone boots into bootlaoder and a new line appears in the normal messages **** security warning*** when this happens I loose recovery and the phone hasn't updated. I then have to re-unlock the bootloader to then flash a recovery.
I cant flash RUU as there isn't an RUU available for me, H3G_001 , I have tried the suggested CWM nandroid backup, but this fails half way through something to do with android_secure
I cant seem to get the phone to successfully grant s-off to try the change cid method, I have tried to do this using HTC one kit by hasoon but no luck,
if anyone could please help it would me much appreciated
regards
okz19
Probably you don't have the stock rom or the recovery, because the secure warning come out when you aren't fully stock..
Look on this site: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/
Mine One works now fine and i have update to the latest OTA.

still stuck!
hi all as you can probably tell form the age of this topic, I have been stuck for a while !!! (11 October ! )
I am still having problems trying to get the new update 2.24.771.3
my phone is carrier locked to three uk
it is unrooted
custom recovery cwm touch
bootloader unlocked / tampered
I understand I need stock recovery and to lock bootloader
I don't have stock rom
my problem is as follows, my phone has been telling me for atleast 4 months now that I have a software update, when I click it it restarts takes me to cwm recovery verifys install then gets stuck on cannot mount data ....
I understand I need to flash stock recovery, I have tried to do this using the "all in one kit" however when I click flash my own recovery, (phone reboots into bootloader) I then proceed to select the stock recovery.img the cmd box then hangs "waiting for device" I am then alerted by my computer that the usb device has malfunctioned. ( I am on windows 8 and have turned of signature verification)
I cannot use the supposed simple method of RUU as there isn't one available for my stupid network!!
I have tried to use a cwm recovery image, this usually starts then spits out android_secure is missing.
yes I do have a hammer ready to hit the phone with, but just before I do this is there ANYONE with any last tips to help me, because ive just about had enough with this stupid phone !
the phone has 24 hours left to live, can you save its life ?
thanks in advance for any help.
1. You cannot install an OTA with a custom recovery.
2. I've encountered a CWM bug having to do with .android_secure. There's a hidden folder in /sdcard that caused it, I don't remember whether this file is ".android_secure" or another. You can probably wipe the sdcard before restoring the backup. If that fails, you can probably manually restore the backup with ADB (this will be hard).
3. If you want to install the custom recovery, boot to the fastboot and use USB to install the recovery. Don't use a toolkit because they're useless when anything goes wrong.
Hey guys. I am in a pickle. I have an S-ON HTC Raider, Bell on stock Android 2.3.5. I flashed TWRP 2.4.4.0 and tried to flash CM 11 and it wouldnt boot porperly. I was told its because I needed to update to ICS bootloader first. So I relocked bootloater and downloaded Bell RUU.exe as well as the OTA.zip. I've tried both methods and they both dont work!
1. Flashed the OTA rom's boot.img in fastboot, then relocked bootloader then tried to flash the firmware via fastboot and it failed. (Later read you cant flash these types of things in fastboot, only stock recovery but I only have TWRP now)
2. Tried the more reliable RUU.exe method. Stuck at silver HTC screen, and the RUU is "sending" indefinetly. Stuck on sending, wont advance any further.
This is my wifes phone and I need to get it going ASAP. Can anyone please guide me? I will happily donate to anyone that can take the time to walk a noob through this. Thanks

Have you attempted to flash an older gingerbread rom? remember to flash the boot.img in fastboot. I only know of issues people have had with Bell and Rogers (on that note, you can try the rogers RUU).

Umm... I think somewhere in the forum there's a thread with the bootloaders as hboot zip files... They might work if the links aren't dead...
---------- Post added at 02:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:27 AM ----------
Your lucky I can't sleep...
Download the PH39IMG.ZIP from the bottom of this page... Either link
http://www.arykblog.com/2014/05/htc-vivid-recovery-and-eng-hboot.html
Put this file in the root directory of BOTH internal and external storage... Because I forget...
Then reboot to bootloader (power and vol -)
Then... HOPEFULLY... Watch magic...
Have TWRP 2.6.3.0 ready to flash and a ROM... PAC is current...
This should give you hboot 1.85.2525
Here's to hoping...
And
GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND
I need help with figuring how to solve my problem. Whenever I try to reboot it boots straight to hboot/fastboot. I can't update my system because of it. Can't unlock because it freezes at the screen where I choose to unlock or not. What should I do??
What have you done to your phone so far?
Have you unlocked your bootloader?
Have you installed TWRP Recovery?
Have you rooted your phone?
Have you flashed any new roms or kernels?
Can you still access your recovery? (TWRP or stock - stock is just black screen with a red triangle in the middle)
Please give a detailed description of the things you have done, the results of each of these things if any, and when your phone started rebooting straight to HBoot.
Also, is your phone the 32 bit US model, or the 64 bit Europian/Australian model?
There's still a chance your device's firmware is recoverable, but you probably shouldn't try anything until you get some advice from someone who has a lot of knowledge and a detailed description of how you ended up where you're at.
Good luck!
What have you done to your phone so far? I have unlocked it before, but end up re-locking it after failing to root it.
Have you unlocked your bootloader? I did and relocked it.
Have you installed TWRP Recovery? Couldn't and Can't
Have you rooted your phone? No
Have you flashed any new roms or kernels? No
Can you still access your recovery? (TWRP or stock - stock is just black screen with a red triangle in the middle) I can't enter recovery.
I have no .img files when entering hboot. I can't unlock because it freezes after choosing the unlock option. It shows entering recovery at the stop and a discalimer message at the botto and goes no where
How to fix the issue
The first thing is to do is to relock the boot loader by typing 'fastboot oem lock' and the appropriate RUU for your device and carrier and open the RUU and reflash the device and it will be good as new

You should not just lock the boot loader without first reinstalling the stock recovery! When you go to use the RUU if it doesn't see the stock recovery it's going to fail... First reinstall the stock recovery and then OEM lock then you can use the RUU!
P.S. I have no idea why you're replying to some post from 2014... This post was almost a year ago lmao...
