Works MUCH better than the previous version. I'm getting no force closes or weird behavior anymore. The UI is also cleaned up quite a bit.
I removed the previous version and pushed it to /system/app/

Looks great; unable to synch, but I now at least have the repeat/shuffle options I used to have, and the UI has been refreshed nicely.

Anyone tried uninstalling it yet? I guess it leaves no trace? Just got worried as it said "upgrading this system app" when I was installing it! Want to make sure I can get back to stock if needs be
It just updates the original music app. If you want to get rid of it you can go into manage apps and uninstall the update just like all the other system apps.

When taking a video with the stock rom the phone plays a sound when starting and ending the recording. It does this even when the phone is set top silent. Is there a way to make it obey my volume settings? If not how can I disable the sounds?

I think you can go to /system/media/ui and delete the audiofiles for camera sounds.
in stock rom I had a setting for disabling sound, are you sure you don't have that?

i renamed the audio files to .bak but it still clicks. doesn't work. Should i remove it completely?

You can't do this easily. AndiCP made a camera mod that is silent, search in app section, but keep a nandroid backup before flashing it, and I don't remember if it is adapted for stock ROM.
Camera.apk has all sounds.
You can mod by yourself or use Andicp's mod.

I'm guessing you need to reboot since the OS might have preloaded the file on its buffer.
All - you do no this sound (pic/vid) is required by law in some countries right?

Wait. Does this play well with Flash Lite, and does it work in /system/app?
EDIT: It forces me out of both stock and Dolphin HD browsers every time I try to load any page with embedded flash. It loads the player and buffers, but once it tries to start playing I get sent back to my launcher. No FC, just closes the browser and kicks me back to my launcher.

Just downloaded and installed. Must say it appears to be working so far without any problem. Thanks Mattix for the heads up on this one.
I recommend removing the flashlite plugin now that we can use the real deal.
Edit: I can load sites such as Adult Swim Games without being sent back to the home screen, except there is no hard keyboard so I can't actually play, but when I try loading a video on the YouTube page it loads the embedded flash player and it buffers but if you click on full screen it loads then attempts to play then crashes back to the home screen.

As far as I can tell flash videos are buggy and crash... but as far as your porn I cannot help you on that.
With this modified version of flash 10.1 there should be more versions fairly soon.

You have full control of your phone now, you can use wireless tether to share your cricket service, you can explore the system partition and delete unwanted apps but be careful what you delete or change, you can use terminal emulator if you are familiar with the command line and Linux commands, you can change system settings with something like blade buddy or similar apps, basically root means you have full control to do anything within the OS.

Someone school me please. I'm rooted, installed the flash player above, but some sites [like mythbusters/discoverychannel] still say I NEED FLASH PLAYER 10.1.0.0 OR HIGHER WITH JAVASCRIPT ENABLED TO VIEW THIS SITE. Well, I got both so what am I doing/did wrong?

I installed the link for flash player 10.2.157.340.apk installed with out a problem. your link above says the Cricket Zio is not supported.
Just wondering what new music apps are out there. I tried a lot of the "big" music players (poweramp, 3 cubed,mortplayer, meridian, playerpro, winamp ,doubletwist..etc) and i'm kinda bored with them. I would like them to have good features (eq,album art, etc) and and a good ui but that's about it.
Only thing I really use is Google Music, other than that I use deadbeef. Though Winamp is a close second for me.
Like you, I've tried a few music apps here and there, but (not surprisingly) none even come close to what you can do on a computer.
And btw... It doesn't seem like you meant to post this in the Dev section so I'm not going to flame you for that
But you should pm deca or whoever is our mod to get this moved

It's the whole package for me. It has great themes, 5 or 6 different widgets, a custom status bar while playing music, it shows album art as the background on the now playing screen, and a ton of other stuff. It's just really well designed and very fast and smooth on my hero. I've been using it since closed beta.
It's minimalist when you first install it but slap a theme on it (win7 theme is a good free one) and go through the settings to activate the advanced features and you can't beat it. And its newer to the market with a great dev so its gonna get more features in the future.

You have to paste in system apps. Give the right permissions and then remove stock music app from system apps. Then reboot and enjoy

Nice find. This is definitely one of the better music player apps out there at such an early stage too! I'm not sure I know how to use the theme template zip but it matches ics nicely as is. I still prefer poweramp as my music player of choice though. Its the best one out there hands down IMO.

No other music player compares to Power Amp. It shoulda been the one Android came with.

When I have music playing and then a notification sound comes through or the phone rings, the music goes out for random periods of time. The music maybe off and not play for anywhere from 5-60 minutes, then randomly it comes back on out of the middle of nowhere. If I try and use the phone while it's not playing, it's extremely laggy? Usually have to force close the app and reopen it. It acts as it's playing the song, although no sound is actually being played when it does this.

I have had this issue before, that's why I uninstalled the CM9 player and went back to Google Music.
