Nexus 6 won't boot past boot screen

I'm having a issue in which I rooted and unlocked using Wug's toolkit. I used this successfully since Thursday that I got my phone without issues. Well today I went into twrp recovery and wiped cache and dalvic cache as I was having issues installing apps (apks) and from store. Now my phone boots but just sits at boot screen without starting up. I am able to boot into recovery but phone still won't boot after restart. I have already waited over 30 mins and have tried multiple times. I called my carrier and they want to send me a replacement, but my concern is how to set it back to stock. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

wipe dalvik cache??? From what i know, Lollipop uses ART.
These are the options I have in my recovery under advanced wipe
Even though the runtime is ART now, clearing dalvik in TWRP does force a 'rebuild' of apps upon boot, so it does still have a purpose.
The 'rebuild' I'm talking about is the "android is upgrading" screen.

just flash the stock firmware with your recovery. I would recommend reporting this bootloop issue to twrp. Im sure it has someting to do with it.

When he says "firmware" he means
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
It won't wipe your data, but it will remove no-force encryption (NFE) and you're going to need to re-root :good:
Had the same problem a few days ago.
@Ghettonine I don't think it's TWRP, more so SuperSU
I was able to use rootkit to flash stock and unroot and it goes through the whole process and states that it was successful and to wait until it boots. The problem is that it never boots and stays in the boot screen. Also I have had it on for 30 mins multiple times and still not working. I boot into recovery but this time I don't have TWRP anymore I just have a android with red triangle with no options to choose. Any other suggestions that could help?
Re-flash stock factory images and stop relying on tool kits to flash stuff. Learn how to use adb and fastboot, or just don't bother messing with root.

[Q] [XT1072] Recovery black screen

Hey guys, I'm having a weird little problem here.
So I followed this guide here, unlocked my bootloader, everything fine.
So far so good. I flashed the mentioned TWRP Recovery through fastboot, no error messages, still looks like everything's fine.
But whenever I try to get from the fastboot screen on my phone into recovery mode, the screen stays black.
I tried restoring to stock, hoping that would add the original recovery back in. Nope, still black screen.
After that, I successfully flashed the recovery from this thread. Again, no error messages and everything looked fine. But still no luck. My recovery screen stays black for whatever reason.
I'm on Windows 8.1 64Bit and using the current Android SDK. The SDK setup had a little problem with finding Java JDK (64Bit) before I could set it up properly. But I solved that one by adding a system variable. Again, nothing out of the ordinary here, at least as far as I understand.
So what am I doing wrong?
I'd really like to get a custom rom with root on this baby. Don't wanna be stuck on stock. :/
Does anybody have an idea, how I could manage to access any kind of recovery in this case?
If the screen stay black then something went wrong
Fastboot gave you the OKAY on flashing ? Did you reboot your phone after you flashed the recovery ?
You don't have to, if you reboot you will have the stock one again = black screen.
Try like i did (assuming you correctly unlocked the bootloader, and installed MotorolaDeviceManager).
1) Get the right recovery for XT1072 from the author's post HERE.
2) Download the latest CM rom from HERE and latest CM gapps package from HERE.
3)Move the CM rom and the gapps zips on the SD or EMMC then reboot to bootloader.
4)Flash the recovery whit "fastboot flash recovery twrp-thea.img" and check if you got the OKEY from fastboot (DO NOT REBOOT YET).
5)Now pick up your phone and use VOL-DOWN to highlight RECOVERY then VOL-UP to start the recovery.
6)You should have the TWRP menu open now, go WIPE -> ADVANCED WIPE and check Dalvik/Data/Cache/System then swipe to wipe those 4 partitions.
7)Go back to main menu and select install, flash the CM12.1 zip then gapps zip and now you can reboot, first boot take a while so don't panic.
P.S.
I uploaded for you the latest untouched platform-tools folder (rev22) for windows if you wish to try this one, LINK, VirusTotal scan.

YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!
SPENT LIKE 3 HOURS FAILING. AND FAILING. AND FAILING! NEARLY BLOODY BRICKED.
I'll stop capsing.
But this worked!!!!!!!!!!! (I think, currently rebooting after flashing)
THANK YOU!
I tried it again and this time it worked!
Beautiful! :good:

always booting into TWRP, unable to enter into system. (solved!)

this is what i've done.
lenovo k3 note with twrp 2.8.7.2_K3_CUOCO92 and rom K3_LOLLIPOP_5.0_ROW_v1.12
i wanted to install one of the latest nougat rom. so i downloaded a twrp 3.1.1.1 made for the k3 note. i flashed the image from my old twrp and replaced choosing the RECOVERY partition.
Flashed ok, i tested a rom, AospExtended-v4.4-aio_otfp-20170708-1051- i flashed it and it worked.
OK BUT.............. i did not wipe the data partition because i received AN ERROR. the new nougat rom was ok but it was a superdirty flash with all the old apps that were crashing. what to do?
i enter into twrp, i REMEMBER that i had the data partition ENCRYPTED so i format it and after doing this i was able to do every wipe i want, included data.
OH PERFECT...... THIS IS WHAT I THOUGHT. i made a full wipe of the rom wiping 4 thinkg : data , internal storage, cache and dalvik cache.
reboot and BOOM. black screen. i press 3 or times the power button and the creen goes on... i am into twrp. from this moment i never returned to see my SYSTEM!
i tested other roms, same problem. i thought it was a twrp problem.... so i installed from the twrp an IMAGE of other twrp... i tested 2 or 3 other twrps specific for my phone k3 note.
I HAD LITTLE BENEFITS with another one.... just because when i press to reboot into system... the phone reboots into twrp AND I CAN SEE IT because the screen is ON, whilst with the "latest" twrp i found...... despites the flashing procedure was ALL CORRECT without errors, at the reboot i always entered into twrp...... BUT INTO A BLACK SCREEN MODE, like if the screen was on...touch enabled, but OFF backligt, and the only way to revive it it is to press power 2 or 3 times, to see the home of the twrp.
i've also found that on MOUNT.......... i always see SYSTEM unflagged, ok i flag it, reboot into system, actually reboot into twrp and system is UNflagged, i try the same thing ALSO flagging READ ONLY...... , idem reboot, twrp.
SEEMS THAT i cannot boot to system anymore. but..... if the twrp was fault, why for the first time let me flash the phone? i really entered into the nougat rom! i found all my old apps and files, but of course it was a DIRTY FLASH, i just wanted to make some wipes.....re flashi the rom.... but oddly i missed the possibility to return anymore to the system.
what could i do at the moment?
how to flash a original image? how to see if this recovery is ok? i donkt 'know where to find my answers......
ah last thing, while into the recovery i was always able to transfer files from pc to phone, but from minutes i am NO MORE ABLE to see the internal memory of the phone.
my computer does not see anything!!! so i am fukked i think....... i did not make anything different.
i only made a lot of wipes... a lot of flashing a lot of testin into recovery. i was able to see it from my pc and put new files through pc. now NO.
solved. i flashed with flash tools an old original firmware android 5.0, then i flased latest twrp with flashtool.... and then flashed the zip of a custom rom.
BL
if u have backup then restore ur stock version or reeboot??

Soft locked my phone. Please help :(

Hey guys,
So I have a Mi 8 Pro, but I'm going to post here because that forum is dead.
I downloaded the latest rom from xiaomi.eu and flashed it via TWRP.... now I'm just getting the boot screen and it is stuck there. I've tried downloading other rooms and flashing, same result.
I'm thinking this may be because I forgot to remove the lock screen before flashing, but TWRP has me input it each time I load to decrypt, so I don't know if that would be the case.
Anywho, I've gone into wipe, deleted the data, cache, and system. I then flash the room and restart(i've also tried doing a system recovery after installing)
Every time I do this, I am just me with the loading screen.
I'm not sure what I did when trying to fix this, but now TWRP won't even load past it's loading screen.
Please help me out here. I now have no phone to use
I'm now trying to use MiFlash and it is telling me that it is a "missmatching image and device"
This is the Mi 8 section, not the Mi 8 pro, anyways you need to:
EDIT: If you're stuck on the loading screen of twrp i think you can just reflash it from the pc and it should work
1.TWRP>Wipe>Format data>type "yes".
2.Wipe System, data, cache and dalvik
3.Flash xiaomi.eu rom
4.profit.

If the Mi8Pro forum is dead you should use the Miui Forums.
However, I know that your issue is simply encryption, Remove the encryption and you will no longer have issues. If your phone was properly unlocked, the device data storage needs to be wiped, to remove encrypted data.
Install correct version of TWRP, and Root. ( Maybe start with SuperSu then Move to Magisk)
Use the All in One Tool to make this easier
Use it to remove encryption. or do anything else ..its easy.
Finally use the correct base firmware for your device. For example, if you have a chinese device, only using Chinese base firmware drivers.

Cannot boot into recovery (TWRP)

As the title suggest, I fail to boot into TWRP.
I have unlocked the phone and flashed TWRP (https://dl.twrp.me/raphael/twrp-3.3.1-0-raphael.img).
I could boot into TWRP using Power + Volume Up , wiped everything (except vendor) and pushed a custom rom to the internal storage.
I restarted the phone for some reason and cannot boot into TWRP anymore. Whatever I do, I end up in fastboot. Tried to flash various versions of TWRP with the same result.
Can you guys help me out?
Edit: I flashed the corresponding Xiaomi fastboot image and repeated the process, same problem.
Edit: Solved by repeating again.

In future, don't wipe everything. You should only need to do the factory reset in TWRP, which will automatically wipe data, cache and dakvik. If you are flashing over MIUI then you will also need to format data.
There is almost never any need to wipe anything else in TWRP when doing normal custom ROM flashing.
