Have you synced your contacts with google? If yes then flash gapps as i quoted to you in the other thread and restore them this way. But remember to always export your contacts in sd card.

If you have a nandroid backup from your previous rom you can restore it and export your contacts to sd card and then reflash cm7 and import them again. I don't know any other solution. Maybe someone else does.

If I should do It I will put my sim and sd card in anther phone then export them to sd card by the other phone
but we must find solution for all guys have same error
Then CM7 aren´t able to read the contacts in the Sim-card ?!
Yes it doesn't read sim contacts
-- Is this the normal case to all the cm7 roms???
do you all guys have this problem??
It's normal. Custom roms never succeeded in reading the contacts off my SIM card.
Just backup them into the SDcard and import them in the new rom.
Thanks, for the info, but it´s strange due the sim istn´t realy new technology.
Okay I used Nokia phone to do this all and I hope to find any way as possible as thnx

Anyone has such option in the contacts? Seems like there is only import/export to sim card but not SD card.
I do. It's just under import/export.
Why not import/export through gmail. Better yet just let gmail be the backup for your contacts.
I cant believe it, just updated to 2.3.3. via kies and the option to import/export contacts so SD is GONE?!?! WTF?!?! What is going on?
u need 2 use an aap contacts2sim pro
why using an app to store the contacts to SD? before updating from 2.2 to 2.3 this feature was standard in contacts.apk!
Simple
Put in the old contacts.apk

This has been a common problem with CM7 on some HTC devices. The best thing to do is to reload a Sense ROM and then sync your contacts to your Google account. Then when you reload CM 7 and link your phone to your Google account, the contacts will resync with your phone. Another option under a Sense ROM is to export the contacts to your SD card, but I'm not sure if CM 7 has support for importing contacts from the SD card.

Yeah it does.
Thank you for the answer!!
So I flashed my P970 with Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1 (version 2.3.7) and everything is working fine except I cant see my contacts in the contacts app.
So far I have tried:
1. Using apps like SIM Contacts to access my SIM card, they seem to have the same problem as it says i have no contacts.
2. Retoring to my original ROM, verifying that I HAVE contacts in my sim ( they do show up in my original ROM). Then I exported them to my sdcard, flashed CM7 again and imported them to the contacts there. Trouble is: when i import them, they don't have phone numbers (i tap a contact and it shows he has no info).
I did some searching and found nothing specific to fix this in the OB (only thing i found was a Moto Atrix fix).
Did this happen to any of you, guys? Is there any way to fix it so my contacts show up? Sorry for being such a noob
Disregard that, restored once more to original, moved all sim contacts to phone then to sd card then back to CM7 and everything works when importing
If i set up a rom and then put in a clean sd card will everything work ok once i set up my google account etc? Or will this cause more problems than its actually worth?
Thanks

If you're installing another rom, like having a new phone, it should be fine
The needed folders are created

Yes. Android automatically creates folders as needed (I've personally done that many times. I have installed ROM with nothing on my SD card except the .zip file with the ROM. I have formatted it using my computer when my phone was in recovery, that worked well for me.). However, I hope you understand that you have to backup your data if you still need it (I'm pretty sure that setting your Google account up won't restore your application data).
Yeah I mean. I thought I could install a Rom I want. Then format my sd card then reboot the phone and set it all up etc?
Or is the best way to install a Rom.from a clean sd card except the Rom zip?

First flash to stock kernel n backup your contacts using super backup or any othr bckup app thn flash rafael's kernel n restore ur contacts again...
The stock Contact app can export contacts to the sd card in a single file, which can be imported in almos all other contact apps. Press menu while using the contacts app.

Haven't never disappeared from sim card when I have flashed roms, kernels or some mods on SGS, GNex, SGS3.
It doesn't even save contacts or saves but deletes them right away.
