IS apps2sd REALLY required for SGS?

Hi guys & gals.
I am a huge user of apps. At any given moment my app count varies from 140 to 180. Trying out, leaving an app for week, replacing it, deleting some all that.
Still, out of the space available for me to install apps, I am barely using 380 mb of space. More than 1 gb still at my disposal.
Do we really need programs & features like apps2sd on our coveted SGS? Can somebody really think of totally disabling this feature from SGS?
This isn't a topic for the dev section, but hubly asked here because it requires a dev to do it.
Please post your app count & space count.

My bad, phone reports 545MB/1.85GB for Program. 192 apps installed as of now.

No I move everything that installs to my sd back to internal memory, eg angry birds

The reason I ask this is its a pain in the A*S to answer every time an app asks me if it should be moved to the sdcard.Can we just tell ALL the APPS, this SGS, & DONT ASK.

I was on 2.1 and now on 2.2. No issue for both.

I need it I guess, cause mine already reached 1.45gb/185gb. What the heck. I have 220 apps only. Gameloft games' files are not using this partition right?

YOU need apps2sd. Search the market.

Nope they are eating about 400 MB on my internal sd (u find them in the gameloft folder on the root of ur sd)

"Only". Rofl.
Not using OCLF are you? That will show the size of your ext2 partition, not true disk use by apps.

Micro SD cards?

[Q] I might get smashed for this one, I currently have a 4gb memory card and I'm wana go get a 8gb or maybe even a 16gb. What brand, what type, what speed, n stuff works best with Zio? (Could the one I have now be the problem with YouTube freezing for 30-45sec after every 8-11sec of playing?) Thanks in advance .....

I have searched the forms for an answer and was unable to find anything that would help!
I lost all my apps to my sd card by just unmounting my sd card and now I can't get any of them back! When I go to my installed application list and click on apps2sd all of the apps that I have on my sdcard are there. They are dark grey! My Zio won't let me do anything with them!
I have very important info stored on my app's! And I don't want to lose any of the progress that I have made on any of my games!
It won't even let me put my apps back on my phone!
If anyone has an answer or knows where I can find it PLEASE HELP!

You need to check your sdcard on a PC to see if you nerfed it or not.
You can easily nerf your sdcard by not unmounting it before removing it from your phone.
And yes... Please,, if you have an issue, dont start spamming random threads, its not very becoming..

What's up with Asphalt 6

What's up with asphalt 6 has anybody got this working. I hear mad people have problems and it force closes. It closes on me after movie intro
If anyone has it working. Tell what rom and if you did anything special to get it working.

It works here as well.I'm running vs 3.1.1 and so far the only problem I came across are bad pixels but those seem to go away after I restart the map or in the worst case the game,but no crashing what so ever. U could be using the wrong vs.

Got it the same way as you,but I downloaded the game data sepratly.
Just to add that it worked even on previously flashed roms to like Continuum 4 and 5 and basicly all of the team phoenix roms.

Go to your installed apps in your phone setting DO NOT uninstall game, just clear game cache. Start Asphalt again,download should work.

You're welcome,hope it works.I would try first with the vs 3.1.1 and download game data trough game and if thats a no go then try the htc game data
Also sry forgot to mention that on the first run u must be connected to the internet cuz it will validate the game for ur device, which might have been the reason why u got the crash.

so freakin annoyed. it just wont work. the game data was a no go. then just trying to download failed every time id exit every time and clear data and no dice. whatever. maybe i will try to find game data for galaxy s somewhere

Version 3.1.6 is working for me on KB1. Framerate gets a little sketchy at times though

Good to know that 3.1.6 works, I'm currently running a voodoo enabled lagfix kernel by xcal on Mosaic III D and have no issues,smooth as butter.GB speeds things up,time for an upgrade Ben

Games will not play on CM9...

Hey guys, I've been trying to download the extra content for Dead Space, NFS: HP, and Real Racing 2 but I always get server errors or the download just sits at 0%. The games download no problem on my Epic 4G and Evo 4G... If anyone has any ideas how to fix this please let me know because these games run like ass on my phones but ShadowGun is smooth as butter on my TP.

I haven't tried this yet (also snagged a bunch of apps in the sale), but you may want to try the build.prop update in the Dev section here.

I think its just EA, I tried moving the downloaded data from my phone to touchpad for NFS and that still didn't work, I emailed there customer support but haven't got a reply yet, they will probably say "the hp touchpad is NOT an Android device" lol

I have tried all the build.prop tweaks and none work... I don't get it, I stopped buy ea games on my 360 a while back and looks like ill be doing the same on the mobile front as well. Ugh...

Yeah -- I confirmed that Dead Space still gives errors for me with the rohan update. I was able to get Shadowgun to work though.

Shadow gun worked no problems without the build.prop tweak and so does world of goo

I had the same problem with Dead Space, no matter what device I would change my build.prop to, it wouldn't download the game data. I had to use my evo3d to download the data, then transfer it over to the TP.

Confirmed. I downloaded with my hard inspire and put the folder in my android folder on my touchpad and headspace now works. +1

hi guyz there's something really annoying that i always face
due to country restricts i can't download most games from Google Play, yes even free games
for example I downloaded " Frontline Commando" a free game ofc.. it just said you may not have purchased the app
almost every nice game says so .. any help ?

Just search for market unlocker or enabler it removes country restrictions.

Well i did that before but it`s very old app and doesn't work

Edit your build prop with identifiers from US... check them in other countries' rom.

How do i do that ?

With a root explorer like root browser. The file is /system/build.prop and there are more than one field to edit. Check the differences between yours and an US one. Reboot to recovery, wipe cache maybe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... and of course BACKUP FIRST as those fields are tricky.

Iam afraid to root my phone as this may harm it .. and it cannot be changed in the future right ?

Root don't harm. Minimal mods neither. You can unroot. At least reflash. Phone won't die.

Try install it from desktop browser. If it still can't, try using other google account.
