Hi Guys,
I send my phone back for warranty but now they said I have water damage.
Can someone tell me what color this indicators have? (On the battery and on the phone)
Thanks.
Hi,
I had the same problemen. When you pull out the battery you will see a pink square paper. Is it white than is there no "waterdamage" , is it pink than they say you have waterdamage. I called HTC about it and they told me that it can come by several reasons, rain, even in your trousers......... But they fixed mine anyway under warrenty. They made a remark on the repair form and two weeks later i got it back.

The first time they fixed my phone with pink indicators. Now I have the same problem and no warranty. I hope HTC will help me. When I search on YouTube on repair guides i see only pink indicators!
It should be pink when the phone has not water damage. It turns white once you drop it in water

I think it is the opposite.
It is a white indicator with pink stripes. I test it with my battery: When the indicator become wet the whole color was pink.
its a white with stripped pink stickers that are attached to many side of the phone. Since I've disassemble it, there is 1 on the battery, other on the housing, one on the usb port. Thats the only 3 stickers that i can remember off. It will turn pink when it exposed to water, so the easiest to damage is the usb port then the battery

As you can see the port has that pink strip, tho i never submerge my phone to water. High humidity can trigger that indicator, as it was badly placed. So I don't think it's fair to put that stripe on that part

I got my xperia Z yesterday and I noticed two darker shadow like spots on screen. I'm definitely taking it to the shop tomorrow but I want to know what is it. I have peeled a regular screen protector but i havent removed shatterproof film. I think it may be dirt under shatterproof film? Spots are most visible on grey and white and on black under an angle. They are barely visible on other colors, especially vivid. I took some photos of it but they are much more visible in reality than on photos. (I also altered brightness and contrast on one picture cause it's more visible)

I bought a phone two days ago and payed full price. No physical damage was done to it since then. I'm not even thinking about paying for anything. I'm going to shop today cause I have a waranty but I'm not sure I will accept display replacement cause I doubt it will still remain waterproof. I just want to know whats going on.

Just returned my SGS5 due to an air bubble or something under the front panel.
I've seen a lot of black SGS5 with this issue on one of the corners or around the home button. It is visible with sunlight or under a lamp. You need to pass your fingers around the front panel and then they will appear.
Check these pictures I took to see what I mean:

On the white model it can't be seen. Only on black ones.
Check to see if you have it.
Mines fine....had it since release
That happened to my friend but only after he dropped it, luckily on the carpet. Very cheap work from Samsung on a flag ship.
And it's really annoying... any way to fix it?
I had that develop - had the phone since launch day and the bubble developed 2 weeks ago. I took it into Samsung repair Centre and they replaced the screen within the day.

Disappointing to see such quality issues on their flagship.
Checked mine, looking fine so far, have it since launch.
It's mostly noticeable on the black model and in daylight at certain angles.
I've also seen it around the home button.
I've checked several black ones with this issue on stores.
None of them have the tempered glass screen protectors do they? I would hate to see everyone freaking out because their screen protector isn't lined up exactly how it should and creating the same problem.
I can speak from experience. Not that I thought my screen was messed up, but from how there is 0% tolerance with some of the tempered glass screen protectors and they need to be lined up perfectly or else around the corners they will have air bubbles exactly as everyone here shows.

Yes. Mine too, but the glass protection has been changed from 2 monhs ago. There is no scratch on it and I don't use cover
It's a really weird issue.
A guy above said he's was fine and the bubble appeared 2 weeks ago.
Is this something that can appear at a later time?
I think this is due to the waterproof protection.
..
Any idea what this is? Top of phone has that orange and green charging / notification light which shows up as a tiny dot in one of those little holes.
My phone has a green light that's constantly on for the past week or so on the bottom in one of the little holes directly below the H in HTC.

Got a photo?
Well, no.. because I only have my cell phone camera. I could have a relative snap a photo tomorrow while I am over for Christmas, but just as easy to draw the dot on myself:

Look under the H at the bottom. I'm pretty sure I've never seen this on until this past week or so. It's on constantly. That's the exact hole the light is in.
Glitter? No LED down there

use the front camera and hold your phone in a mirror to take the pic
I doubt it would be glitter. I doubt it has anything to do with the screen as even when the screen is off that light is on. I will try taking it in the mirror later, I'm just not sure if you'll see it as the holes are so small.

It would be easy enough to tell if it is a light or something stuck in the hole. Turn off the device. If it is still there, it's not a light. Or the lights in the house (at night), if it is there, it's either a light or glow in the dark glitter.
Hello everyone! This morning, I removed the screen protector that came with my replacement display which I have been using for months now because it had too many scratches. After removing it, nothing was out of the blue until I noticed a large patch of uneven pixels in the shape of a rectangle. Can someone explain to me why this happens and the best way to solve it?
I've read some others had luck by just leaving it alone and letting it disappear on its own (usually within a week or so). My screen does not show any signs of screen burn-in and only shows image retention when watching 16:9 content for long periods of time (~usually 40 minutes at most)

This is an image of my phone with the said rectangle.
App: OLED Tools
The rectangle is mostly noticeable when viewing dark images or gray backgrounds. It is also noticeable when looking at dark greens.
Mine did the same thing after removing my glass screen protector (Dome). Took a good 3 weeks to a month to fade enough that I can just ever ever so slightly notice it. I was really bummed out because the phone is flawless, and I wanted to change to a new protector.
But yeah, it faded away. I just looked again and I can't see it anymore.
I don't understand how the screen protector has anything to do with that or why it wasn't visible before. Disconcerting...
It's really very odd. First phone that has ever done something like that.
All I can say is always use OEM parts with these devices. That includes the adhesive strips.
I've repaired Canon pro cams before and having the exact parts makes the difference.
I hope it works out for you.

It was replaced by an authorized Samsung Service Center I know the parts are legit.
It's been a few weeks now, and it's not as noticeable anymore!
Hey guys, I tried to fix an old broken Honor 4x thinking the battery was dead because there was no sign at all. After ordering a new battery online and replaced it now I can see the Led blinking red and green successively after charging and trying to start it, but screen won't turn on
Have any thought why this occurs? Hopefully will get an answer lol..
Is it charging? More than 20% charged?
All connectors on tight and no pins were damaged?
Yes I put all connectors (4 of them), already charged a few hours with many plugs and adapters

Meh, sounds like a display or mobo failure.
Was it working before the battery failed?
Water exposure or any drops?
Can the PC see it?
Nope the pc can't detect I tried booting in recovery too. The difference since I changed the battery is that now I see the leds color flashing both green and red, before that nothing. I don't remember what was the issue, its been so long
I think I damaged this part while removing

Speaker?
Maybe not sure
Anyway what does it mean when led flashing both colours, don't think it's the screen as either way the pc doesn't detect it. Maybe the new battery is defective?
After some thought it could actually be water damage, I have a vague memory about that. In that case, maybe the motherboard should be replaced as well?

Not familiar with that phone for the led codes.
Is the phone completely dry now?
If water damaged it might be better to replace the phone completely at this point.
Yes its dry, but there is no visible sign of water damage instead
Could be an issue with the motherboard maybe
