OK I'm trying to wrap my head around the weird RGBA color code that is used in the ICS themes. I'm atempting to work on my own and I'm running into a problem when trying to change stuff in the status bar. The color code is like this...
"type="drawable" name="status_bar_background">#ff000000</item>"
Any help is apreciated.
Google search or test-n-trial might help you+u will have more fun.
The thing is this is my last resort I have spent around 3 hours on Google trying to find the code and nothing at all.

Check out my sig links at the bottom of my sig, and there's some good links for theming info. Including where to find text colors. Its mostly gb stuff but alot carries over, and you'll get a good idea what to look for.

The only thing is that every online color wheel doesn't have RGBA color coding just rgb. ICS xml's use an rgba scale to set color and alphas.

Maybe what I am trying to do hasn't been attempted before but I'm stuck and hopefully, someone here is talented enough to help.
I am trying to change the background color of the LauncherProPlus widgets. It is clearly not an image in the res folder and I have been scouring the XML's to see what is driving the color to no avail. Does anyone know where I might have missed or where else to look? I'm thinking maybe I need to start looking through the smali files but would love if someone could provide a little direction.

I am familiar with Benny879 as well as that thread and he hasn't been able to find what controls the background either. He posted that theme on the LauncherPro forums and I installed it optimistic that the background would be black but it is not the case. The image on his sight is a bit deceiving due to the background color but is actually a gray gradient.

My bad, misunderstood, I was wondering how to make it a different shade of transparent myself, so I guess we are after the same thing. let you know if I find anything

Yup, that's it. Make sure you decompile with Brut's apktool.
Awesome! Thanks to both of you. I had started to go through the smali files last night after having tried every remotely relevant XML.
I'll give it a shot this morning and post back my results. I haven't used Brut's APKTool but use APKManager which I believe is simply a script that utilizes the APKTool.
Actually, I take it back. It appears Signals23 has already accomplished and made available everything I was trying to do which was to make the background black.
So, I'll simply say thank you again, install his masterpiece, and pretend I'm the man.

You can be the man too.
In my last theme of the LP0.7.7.2, I added a png to the background, that way you have control over the whole thing. If you want to mess with that, let me know and I'll post instructions.

Thanks. I'm just a theming hack though, Fede is really the man with LP.
This a theme for Xtrsense. I have tried to get as much orange as possible in this theme. I am not done with this completely yet because there are some more things I want to change but I have not had time to do it yet what with life and all.
This theme is largely based off of droidkevlars theme kevlarmash. So most if not all credit goes to him.
Also thanks to zach.xtr for a great rom.
Anyhow here is the theme with some screenshots. If anyone can think of something else they would like to see in it or how to do some new things feel free to let me know.
Disclaimer: The only rom I have tested this on is xtrsense. I am sure it will work on most 2.1 roms however I can not confirm this. If anyone can confirm this for me that would be great.
Disclaimer pt2: If you do this you are doing it at your own risk.
Just wanted to add if everyone wants to post a request for a color other than orange, once I finish with this I will make a new one in whatever color is most requested.

I will take a look at it. Have you tried applying it anyway even though it gives you that error when you unzip?

I was able to duplicate it. I am not sure yet what is causing but, once it kicks you out if you go back into metamorph and click on apply theme it should have it listed as an option and let you apply it even though it kicked you out initially.

Haha ah well. It was worth a shot.
Very nice theme especially considering Halloween. I have run it for four days with no problems. I did get the error message when I unzipped with MM but going right back in showed the xml file in my list of apps.

link didnt work for me.
i found all the image files but im trying to get an idea how this should look. the calling screen seems easy enough but things like the dialer i feel would would get cluttered if i did to much to them. anywho ill dable a bit. i dont publicly theme but i like to make my own stuff so i can say its a bit personalized. who knows maybe ill take this idea for a spin lol

im actually trying to find the slanted 'pin stripe' package to use..or thats what im going to call it. i found one BUT it looks like it might be missing some essential characters.

Been a hardcore fan of mg since day one on my nes. If you pull this off I will pay at least 20 usd for a dialer. And 50 usd for a theme, or at least system sounds replacement.

I used Ringdroid from the market to convert the mp3 into a ogg file. It also puts the file where you choose, (alarm, notification, ringtone). Im sure there's other ways, but that's how I did it.

I've been in the hospital and away from my desktop for the last few days but I have pretty good idea for tackling this so once I get home I'll make a mock up and we'll see what we can do.
let me be clear about this, there are a lot of metal gear themes out there, all of which incorporate character models as icons this is the kind of thing I do not like.
I would rather really like to see icons made out of pick up items, or the L1 R1 item weapons scroll windows, ( you know the ones black box w/Red single line drawings) the socom; rations; and the cardboard box a.
when I press keys on my keyboard I want to hear the socom silenced pistol shot. Do you catch my drift?
my mind goes so deep all the details that I can imagine, however I do not have technical ability to make my dreams come true.

I'm trying to modify the Handcent SMS application. Problem is after installing the mod the application instantly closes and takes me back to the homescreen. I'm really scratching my head here .. If anyone has got a couple of minutes to check it out I'm ever so grateful!

Couple of the panel images and the yi_ middle something.
Used draw patch 9 tool with eclipse. Even tried to match the original borders I saw after decompiled.
I am really looking forward to see if anyone can do this ... unfortunately I am not familiar with xml and I am wondering if it has something to do with that now.
Also I had no idea that this thread had anything to do with handcent .. maybe a title change?

You didn't alter any. 9 images and its doing that? That's not real comforting.
And the handcent thing lets people know what it is and since we aren't the only ones then maybe it will get more hits when people search for it
Or someone may think theming it is easy try and figure it out.

na, i would have to make, crop and place every key for 14 different keyboards. i have transparent keyboards made up already. all i have to do is crop the image and place.

Mike you are right orange and green is yuck!!! I just like the miami hurricanes and someone who wasnt thinking clearly decided to use those colors.

Not sure if it matters, but I know we are permitted to use these images. One is an adjustment of a photo by a friend of mine and the other is the logo we used for a driving event at the Dragon (US 129 in NC/TN - incredible road!! [I drive an 04 R32 and it is made for that area - tons of twisties ]) and the logo was done from scratch by another good friend of mine...

can you change the color of the word suggestion? The color used for the word suggestion is some weird green on a gray background that makes it unreadable and I have to guess if its the correct word or not. How about a nice BOLD BLACK?

what i need is the motovation. i just dont feel like going through all that. i have to make the keys and place each and every single key on 14 different keyboards and THEN add the key text. thats a ton of work. i may at some point get to it. but its way down on the priority list.
