X8 bricked - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i got a problem with my x8 . I tried to install new rom on my x8 ( i have done it before and succeeded), but this time i cant get passed from SE logo, i cant get into xrecovery, and when i try to turn on to flash mode, it turns on flash mode like for about 10 seconds then turns off and throws SE logo on the screen . I've tried to repair with Sony Update service but still throws out of flash mode, also with flashtool . If anybody knows whats wrong, all the help would be appreciated .

take out the battery, wait 5-7 seconds, put the battery and hold the back button and then plug in the usb cable, maybe this will help

Wont let me do that either, because the phone stays on flash mode just for 10 seconds and then throws out and SE logo comes back on and nothing else, done this over and over again

Do you have the drivers? Is your cable ok?

Just to rise your moral it isn't bricked since it does turn on up to a point.

I had that problem to. If it's not working with PC Companion or with SEUS use flash tool. Google for X8_E15_1.3.A.0.62_generic.ftf cause i don't know if it's ok for me to create a mirror with this.. It will work perfectly. Trust me.

Turn off your phone go to SEUS update software....and press back button while you connect yourphone to pc.......
can you give me a link for seus (cant find on sony ericsson site it says not available)(and directs me for using pcc)
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...oads/subject/pccompanion/xperiax8?cc=hr&lc=hr
Just push green button...it is on croatian but when you install it you could change language...
ok but i said i tried pc companion repair but it doesnt work
It must work, just turn off your phone start pccompanion and start pressing back button when you connecting your phone to pc...do not stop doing it until pcc says so....
P.S. Search forum for universal kernel repairement tool...

if pcc or seus doesn't work for you, download stock rom. and use flashtool instead. just install pcc and flashtool drivers and follow the instructions.

[Q] Galaxy Pop/Mini half hard bricked (can go into a strange mode) Experts Neede

Hi everyone!
Here is the entire list of things I had done before I bricked it. Can some expert please read through and help me? I really need help!!
So as you can read from the title, this phone, the Galaxy Pop/Mini is bricked. It does not turn on at all, even if I press the power key only or the Power+home+vol.down. Needless to say, I have no download mode . The problem started after I flashed the PACman ROM, which didn't turn out that good, so I re-flashed the original firmware using ODIN. It said PASS, but then when it rebooted, the phone got a boot loop. It kept on rebooting again and again. As I have an Xperia Neo V as my primary device, this issue usually meant a wrong kernel to me. So I downloaded "Galpop_kernel_build2" and now when I press the power button or any of the combinations, the screen does not light up. There is no response.
So I tried the Heimdall One Click Unbrick, and it shows me this error:
Is Your Phone Plugged In?
Is It In Download/Softbrick Mode?
If the phone is Plugged In and Everything Is Fine,
Visit the Resolution Center in order to resolve the issue.
So I clicked on the button, it asked me to install 3 things, which I did, no luck. So I was finally going to give up, when I accidently pressed the volume up+ Power+ Home keys. Nothing happened on the screen, but when I connected it to my PC, Windows started installing some drivers! It went well, and even ODIN detected the phone (Yes, there was the Yellow Box), so I quickly tried to flash the original firmware, but it got stuck on "setup connection...". I read somewhere that this was a driver issue so I tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers, no luck.
So now, the phone does not turn on, but goes into this strange mode where it gets detected by ODIN, but cannot be flashed. I'm doomed! Can someone PLEASE HELP!!???

I did, I am on a different PC right now, installed all drivers etc. But I just realized... I think I might have flashed the Pop Plus kernel...
Since it is ultimately the low level OS, maybe that is preventing it from starting? Is there a way to forcefully flash a different kernel? :'(
Also, the strange mode that it used to go into is gone now.. I cannot make the PC recognize the phone at all now, and the phone does not power up. So I'm kinda in a doomed position right now..:crying:
The mistake was the kernel flashing. If something is not booiting you need to wipe data/cache. This works with stock ROM too.

And what did you tell them that convinced them that you were innocent?
I also had a problem where i had to get my motherboard changed when i asked the samsung people they said it'll cost Rs. 4000 for changing the motherboard so it'll be better if you find your warranty papers and don't worry just tell them that the phone's not working don't tell them about the rom flash stuff they'll repair it for free if you have your warranty papers..

[Q] Xperia V battery + bootloop problem

Hi, i got a really serious problem. I unlocked and put a custom rom (avatar) on my brand new Xperia V. Everyting was fine then i decided, that i need to root it too, so i followed a page wich i cant find unfortunately, and the result was a bootloop. I didnt really care about it, i decided to solve it later, but it drained all the battery during that time, and i used flashtool to put another kernel (Xperia.V.TWRP.Kernel.9.0.1.D.0.10.elf). Now when i put my phone without the battery it tryes to turn on every 15 sec (i see the boot screen), if i put battery in it shows its out of juice then after a few minits the led turns instantly green, and the phone turns itself on, and it runs out of battery in less than 20 sec and this repeats. Please help i really dont know what to do :crying: (might have time in fastboot mode to flash some things but i dont know really what i should do)

i dont know how to do that i tryed to do that before the TWRP kernel, but it was not the sctock i guesss coz it had a bootloop (i really dont know im a noob ), i put the TWRP so i can install stuff from sd card. I really have to be fast before it turns off, so if u know a guide that tells exactly how to do that, i ll give it a try, but i didnt find anything like that unfortunately , and i dont really trust this random guides anymore...
I fixed my xperia several times through flashtool...its very easy actually....
1.download flashtool if u don't already have it.
2 download stock .tft file (stock rom wtv version) // // // // (of course for your device)
3.press bolt icon-flashmode.
4.pick the .tft file u put in flashtool's firmware folder where iu installed..
5.wait to prepare everything and give u plug usb screen.
6.while connecting the usb to pc press and hold the flashmode button on device (arc s-back key, xperia s -vol down) so check for ur device which key.
7.wait until it finishes then u can unplug and reboot.
Photos-vids-music dont get erased, other yes, and ull have a stock phone like u first bought.(includes kernel change to stock)

firt the red led shows, that the battery is empty, then it is charging (still red) then after like 1-2 min it turns green, and the phone turns itself on, tryes to boot, but battery gets empty (i dont know if it does really the led is just red again), and the phone turns off (the time is getting shorter i think btw), the main question if this cannot be fixed is, that i caused this by installink some custom rom or kernel, or the battery really is dead (wich would be really wierd since the phone is only 3 days old), in that case should i try relock it and bring it back to the store?

hi i am new here. yesterday i flashed existenz 2.0 rom on sony xperia sp. All went right. then i flashed boot animation on it . then i restarted but it stucks on animation. now nothing is happening i have tried charging it but i think it doesnot do charging in switch off mode, so it starts again and does some charging then on animation it stucks and charging stopps and then after some time it drains the battery and gets swiched off. Then again this process continues. it is not going into recovery mode, flash mode , fastboot mode.
so if you can help me in this situation. pleeassssse
Sounds like a pretty bad bootloop does your PC recognise anything when you connect it? You need to go back to stock or at least to a working ROM. The long and short of it is to fix it you are going to need adb, recovery (if you have a nandroid backup) or flash mode. If you can't get any of them I think its bricked

Any idea how much charge is in the phone? I think you will have to keep trying to get into fastboot or recovery try power and then vol up/down or camera depending on what your recovery is I can send you a full nandroid backup of stock if you need one. You need to break into the boot cycle get into recovery (i am assuming you have installed a recovery on this device) timing will probably have a lot to do with it.
Programming is a race between engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
make sure to use the stock sony usb cable as i think flashmode doesnt work well with other usb cables. also try the other usb ports on your computer. technically, you should still be able to enter flashmode and recovery.
