Hi guys I want know, is lp8 is completely safe or not is any problem or bug still there
Is it is better than lpf
If its better than what's the safe way of going from lpf to lp8
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Both of them are not safe
You're better of reverting to Gingerbread using PC Odin and then wait couple of days till safe custom kernels surface seeing the ICS sources have dropped recently
Franco already stated he's testing a new ICS kernel, am waiting for it right now too

hello
so here.my friend has samsung galaxy s I9000,and he gave it to me to flash it.now, wont have problems with flashing since im experienced in odin and cwm,but i would need someone to tell me wich kernels and roms should i use.
what i need:best gingerbread kernels, and best ics kernels.ill try many roms in this two days i would have this phone, but my only concern is the kernels.
i am also thinking about to make MegaBassBeats for GS gingerbread users.but i would need your help then.thanks
All ics kernels are great, midnight, semaphore, devil and glitch. Personally I find midnight and semaphore most stable.

Try slim ics, doc master with glitch or devil kernel
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
For me semaphore works on every ROM.
sisted ounturnm
yeah.. semaphore is great.
i never try ics, but for gb i like gamerzrom..

That's for gb, I don't see the point in using gb still.
ICS is stable and by far superior, slim ICS with devil or midnight kernel. Anyone would love that combo.
Sent from my I9000 running Slim ICS 3.6.
I tried both,and cm7 is faster.and got everything working.you need to understand that 3.0 kernel on gingerbread isnt a small thing.its above-average
Sorry for asking this late but I was out of internet access for the last couple of weeks. Just a question when updating to ics though. Do I need to revert to stock rom or can i update via a custom rom?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Check dr.ketans thread in the stickies for installing stock roms.
It depends if you're currently on ics repack or dangerous kernel. If you're on lpf or lpy, or other later India kernel, it's safest to flash a GB kernel, before flashing a full ROM.
Any big writes to any of above kernels will cause fatal damage, whether instantly or not.
there's also a great thread by chasmodo on the topic of ics upgrades/downgrades.
Wish you well.

It is worth upgrading to 404 as battery life is better, transitions and window animations are smoother than 403.
I'm using CF Root 5.6 LRG kernel and stock odex rom with some bloatware removed.
Well its my personal experience.
You'll sure hear some people advise you to downgrade to GB :silly:
You can download 404 with Check Fus Downlaoder.
Is that kernal safe???

A: Yes
Q: BEST kernal? Have been using the notecore kernal

Q: Stock or custom?
A: Whatever floats your boat.
Q: Whats the major differences between the ics versions?
A: Exactly 0.0.1

No ICS Kernel is 100% safe.
When performing a Full wipe (Data/Cache), always flash the Abyss 4.2 Kernel first And reboot back into recovery!!!, and then wipe.
and what's the relevance between you going away and the urgent itch to upgrade?
No reason to upgrade lol....i just a flashaholic

Regarding CF Root 5.6 kernels. Samsung has released new sources but we still do not know if brick bug is fixed.
Better safe than sorry - always use GB kernels to be 102% sure and safe.

I do not know if CF Root is compatible with MIUI.
Flash CFR 5.6 with mobile odin.
use only the kernel that came with the firmware, i doubt also that other kernels will work with MIUI.

Please help

fixed it by flashing speedmod kernel.
It's a known issue. ICS 4.0.4 Bluetooth doesn't work on custom kernel. But speedmod (since k3-9) and Notecore has fixed it.
if your using speedmod kernel versions prior to k3-9... you can't hold on your BT for a long time..it would just turn off for brief seconds... its a known issue on lower versions of the speedmod kernel... install speedmod k3-9 and higher and your BT will be fine.
i have installed stock GB, then updated to ICS thru kies, everything Stock....still BT doesn't work...
u are saying if i put a custom kernel it will?
is it safe to flash that speedmod over stock kernel?
Nop it should work on stock.. If it doesn't work on stock it won't work on anything
...

Hi Everyone!
I'm kinda having problems going back to stock ics from stable cm9.
I wanted to get back to stock just so I can try speedmod k3-13.
Whenever I flash stock ics through pc odin, I get stocked in the blinking Samsung logo, and my note never boots up. I am now back to cm9 and everything is ok.
Any thoughts on what steps I should undertake to get it working!?
Thanks in advance!

Why you are using kernel to get back to gb???no need to do.if you are doing this for going back to custom gb rom then i would suggest you to first flash a pre-rooted gb rom from dr.ketan's guide.try to flash it through pc-odin.

You need root to install speed mod kernel so quickest way is to flash a pre rooted rom.
