hey, im running Docs ICS v5 final, and im loving this ROM, so much that i dont even wanna upgrade.
one problem im facing is, that i got bored with the built in black themed gmail, gtalk etc.
I managed to delete gmail using root explorer, then system/apps/ , deleted gmail.apk and then downloaded the official one from android market.
but with google talk, i deleted talk.apk from the same folder, so obv it dissapeared from the app drawer, but i cant seem to find talk in the market (dont know why) and also, i downloaded a talk.apk someone posted in the general section, and that installed succesfully but gives me a fc whenever i open it.
what to do?
i dont wnna flash a new rom simply for talk, but want it, its essential

in Cyanogen 4.0.4 or 4.1.2 i saw an app called IM, its an instan messenger for AIM, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo..how to pull this app from that rom and install to our current rom?
when i was in cyanogen rom, i can run this IM app..and it use GPRS/3G..

I tried the old way, i extract im.apk from cyanogen rom and put it in sdcard and using app installer to install it but it can't install..
There got to be some way like adb push maybe..but what files needed to push it and make it rin in myhero rom?

Not too sure if you can use it for other roms. But you could always try Meebo in the market. Meebo's a chat client for ALOT of different messenger servers.
I find it unfortunate that in the rom fear edition there have not lg calendar widget I found well do you know another or a way to add and sorry for English but I use google translate
You can download the LG widget and install from SD via CWM. The weather widget works fine but the calender, it force close when i tap on it. Still trying to figure out this but unfortunately i was not able to post at the DEV forum.

having this problem in blazingdragon rom too, not sure if this occur on original mdc rom
ok what i installed was the widget only, we need to calendar.apk to work. Anyone have idea where to get it? google gave me nothing.
ok i have figured it out.
1) first download the calendar apk from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13428866&postcount=15
2)paste the calendar.apk to .../system/app/ using root explorer after enabled r/w.
3)install the calendar widget apk.
4)enjoy your calendar widget which wont stuck anymore
Thanks dude. For my case, I update to fear v8.0 FR15 a moment ago. Reapply the LG widget zipfile and the battery mod zip. The Calender widget workis perfectly now.
I guess is the V8 use back LG Calender. Infact I use back the LG gallery which is better.
Try it. Its so much smoother now on the UI. Calling apps is instant.

Help needed - being over zealous with my deleting I,ve lost the default I900 touchwiz calendar apk and its needed packages (provider.apk , alarm?apk) Was a bit huingry with Titianium remove! I only use the Google calendar but it has to have the stock installed to work...
Anyone post the apk's for me and exact path where to install them to? (system/data or wherever?)

I have a little trouble with the recovery of applications and widgets in the stock ROM.
In fact I passed under CM9 but I want to keep:
- The Samsung Widget Calendar
- The Samsung AccuWeather Widget
- Polaris Office
To do so I:
- Reinstall the stock ROM offered in this forum for my Tablet 5110
- Save the directories "app" and "lib" (directory "system")
- Then reinstall CM9
For Polaris Office, I have copied the two corresponding library in "system / lib" before installing the application but it still closes after bootscreen.
For AccuWeather, the application will refused to install.
For the calendar, I don't know what application I should take in the directory "system / app".

I too would like some of the samsung apps back now that I'm running cm9. I love this ROM, it runs great no issues but would like to use the splanner again. There are no comparable apps in the market. Did you ever figure out how to get them installed?

Polaris Office should be in google play. For the other widgets, accuweather is in google play too.
For calendar, search for the normal calendar app in the stock rom
Polaris will not work on CM9. The; problem is the library.

After a search i see that polaris is a paid app so the lib contains the paid status. I dont want to support warez etc. If you want to have the app
search for the apk or buy it.

I bought a Samsung Tab2 with Polaris. I saved it and flashed CM9. So in my view I don't think I used warez. I tried to install MY Polaris on CM9, but it did not worked.

The polaris version is build into the stock firmware, which doesnt belong to you. If you look on the polaris webside it costs a few bucks.
Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez on the appz point

What you want doesn't exist! Are you surprised? Didn't think so..
Download whatever rom you want and remove the apps you don't need like everyone else does..
But if you start removing system apps like I'm sure you will, all you're left with is a useless phone..
why dont you install and uninstall whatever app you want?
so what apps may i remove ?
is it listed safe to remove apps for 2.3.7 anywhere ?
You sir are not allowed to have thumbs-.-
Install gdx v025 and remove those apps you saod but first make a back up.
