Read the FAQ thread in development, and from there figure out how to flash a stock rom.
Search "ramad" and follow instructions how to flash roms
Hi Hi
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493 This link will take you to an excellent step-by-step guide to not only fixing your boot loop and getting back to a stable 4.0 or 2.3 rom but also includes all the necesary files. I recently had the same issue you are having and while the other replies here regarding searching for the answer are good it can sometimes be daunting.
On the other hand you can use this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139050
I haven't used this stepby-step before but it does contain picture so for the sake of completeness I would use the first link provided and supplement it with the screenshots from the second link. Good luck!

Sorry dude. Start reading the stickies. Get used to the idea that you need to figure out the simple things by actually reading stuff. After some personal input, people are of course prepared to answer any questions you have might have.

First off, this thread is in the wrong section. This is not development related.
Second, since its been asked anyway, you could start off by searching and reading stickes as suggested by androidsjonnie
And my suggestion is to decide on a custom ROM to use and follow the install instructions provided for that ROM. AFAIK, by default samsung rom's, cannot be flashed using clockwork recovery. you will have to rely on odin for them.
And if you just need clockwork recovery, you start by downloading ROM Manager.
**** Topic name !
Read Stickys and learn to use the Search Function !
don't be hard on the iPhone user! we all know how they are..
If you've read the info on ClockWork recovery.. It needs a compatible Kernel to work.. so checkout the kernels at the dev't section..

Did you follow all the directions from the first page ?
If you coming from a froyo rom you must first flash cm7 kernel , and galaxy efs backup before flashing miui or it won't work .

I have been having the same problem, there is a problem with cwm when flashing kernels.
What I do is I install miui in cwm and when it gets stuck go to download mode and flash cm7 initial kernel with odin, keep in mind that wifi does not work with initial kernel. So I asked zachary to do a odin flashable tar package of his kernel (you can find it in his thread page 74), what I do is flash kernel zip thru cwm and when it gets stuck go to download and flash tar package of the same kernel.
Hope it helps

I had a lot of problems at first too.
The first step you need to do root it with super one click root.
Do a search in the forums. There are several tutorials that explain how to use it. It's really simple.
Using that programs getting the phone to root was easy. The problem I had was the flashing part and getting Odin to work for the first time to install clock work recovery.
Do you mind providing a link? I really need to know the step-by-step procedure and see the reliabilty.

1) download the latest 2.3.6 JW4 firmware (for GT-I9000) from sammobile.com. Also download ODIN and flashing guide.
2) For CF-root , following the instruction on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108.
If you don't want to upgrade to 2.36 then just follow link in the second step . That should have the instructions and the download link for your GB rom. Ensure that you pick the right tar file corresponding to your firmware version.
I am sorry but i am a little dumb and slow -.- I not quite get thr threadnposted by Chainfire, in which the link you provided. I am using a gingerbread 2.3.3 . So what am I supposed to do? Cos they say smth like CF-root Gingerbread (2.4 XXjvk or newer) . What does this actually means? And after that i couldn't get the whole chunk.

Hi,
I am new in this topic, and I want to try out custom ROMs. I have chosen the custom ROM I want to try out (for me this time it's gonig to be CM 10.2 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2435716 ), and I've read some articles and forum threads about this matter.
My Galaxy ACE S5830 runs on Android 2.2.1 and has never been flashed (as far as I know).
I just want to be sure that I won't make any mistake so I need someone to write me down full process that needs to be done. I don't fully understand what comes first and what comes last therefore it would be helpful if someone here could describe me step by step instructions. I have downloaded everything suggested including drivers, cwm, odin and root and above mentioned custom ROM.
I am new in this subject meaning that I have never done this things with my phone.
Also I am not complete layman and I have good software understanding so I don't need extensive descriptions.

Thank you mate u've been very helpful!
I'm still researching and getting a clue which ROM should I use, but by now I know what is the proper order of doing things. All that is left is getting the right, fastest and most stable custom ROM.
Thanks again for the guide
Good luck with your phone, I was in the same situation earlier today and thanks to Viper's post all went well Simple and straight forward instructions. Thank you.
